Congrats on the new Jeep. And the '97 is awesome too. I sold my '97 a month ago, we couldn't stand it, within 24 hours we bought a new '06. Once you've had one, seems like you'll always want one...

Like everyone here, I have ridden all manual shift stuff forever. Then I rode the VForce with the automatic. I know everything has a purpose, but visualize competing and not having to shift. Downshifting going into a turn, upshifting to get enough speed before the next jump. You don't realize how much more energy it takes to do that. I am hooked on it. I will never go back to a manual shift machine. My 48 years may have something to do with that as well. I like to roost everywhere I go, with out a single shift.
I agree 100%, I almost bought a Raptor but went with the KFX 700 instead. Best move I ever made. I am always in the right gear!!!

the only thing permanent I will ever put as an engine modification will be the programmer because it is easy to return it to stock if I ever have an issue before I take it to the dealer.
I'd say go with a programmer if you want to modify the engine performance.
Id@
One thing I can say is my '05 6.0 went to the Ford dealer with the new intake, exhhaust and the chip. It was a fuel problem and they did all the work and never questioned the mods. It was all warranty. They actually told me that the new 6.4 that is supposed to be coming out in the '07's is actually pretty close to what the edge is turning on the level 2. said it should even have the 4" exhaust. How much of that is true, I don't know. I still can not find any definite specs on the'07 superduty.

**SNIFF** SNIFF** Whats that I smell? Coolant burning? That wouldnt be the headgaskets leaking would it.... Honestly until Ford gets their act together with that 6.0 I wouldnt hop it up to extreme unless you want to except the responsiablity for the Repair. Then it is Game on. The Job is about $10k to complete. $500 programmer $500 propane ket $700 Exhaust
The face of the guy who was just told that his Head gasket repair is not warranty because of aftermarket bolt on's & Modifications
Priceless
Bad anology I know, but ask me if it doesnt happen. I see it all of the time at work.
This is the info I am looking for. The extra HP/Torque is extremely nice to have when hauling a load, especially one reaching/exceeding MAX rating. I only use the tow mode, level 2 on the Edge, and economy mode, level 1. I put it on 5 when I first installed it for about 30 seconds and that just seemed ridiculous. I definitely see the increased fuel mileage. What is your opinion on just exhaust and the air intake? Do you think I will see enough difference to justify the money and is this possibly bad for the motor? I know the 6.0's are touchy, both my '04 and '05 have had problems, but I bought another one anyway...

Just looking for opinions on the available "chips" or programmers available for the 6.0 poweerstroke. I currently have a '05 F-250 with an Edge Juice chip and Attitude controller with the exhaust and air intake. I am very happy with it. I just got a new F-350 and getting ready to purchase an Edge A2 Platinum, dual exhaust, and air intake. Just wondering if anyone has any personal experience with more than 1 system that can give some feedback/comparisons between the different ones available. Hope this doesn't turn into how bad the powerstroke sucks and I should have bought a duramax or cummins.

I don't know where you are located but 4 Wheel Parts Warehouse in Orland did my last Jeep. I had it done with a lot of other work but doesn't seem that it was that much. I have been very happy with their work. My latest Jeep is going in on Saturday for lift and tires.

Thanks to all. I'm loking forwarrd to getting to ride this weekend. It was due for the 10 hour service so instead of tackeling the jetting myself i let the shop do it along with the service. I picked it up Saturday morning...I didn't get time to ride but it sure sounds good.

Just because there are no "No Trespassing" signs doesn't mean you are not trespassing. If you do not own the property or have permission to be on it you are trespassing. Does the gated community own the property or does the power company own the land? Either way you are trespassing if you do not own it or have permission. The additional problems come with the littering and dumping that goes along with the illegal use of the land. Not saying you are doing this. Someone eventually has to clean up the mess and a majority of the time it is the power company that has to do the clean-up. More added costs to them that drives up power bills that everyone complains about but doesn't realize the costs that the power company has. No, I do not work for the power company directly, but I am a contractor that does a lot of this clean-up. Just trying to give another view as to why you get asked to leave and not ride in areas like this.

Thanks for all the input, I need to add that my son is not being spoiled when he says the jeep is ugly and he doesn't want it. He is a good kid that is being given a choice on what he wants to drive. I will actually come out cheaper if he picks something different and will probabally get to keep MY jeep. I don't have to sell it but may. It's one of those things that I've got too much in it to ever get it back so may as well hold onto it. But you all seem to be making his case stronger about the stickers being ugly...

The 450 4x4's are really nice. Looked at it, test road it, etc. Ended up with 2 Wolverine 350's instead. Only because felt like no need for the 4x4. One is wife's the other is son's. We love the 350's. The 450's have got to be every bit as good plus have the 4x4 option.

Ya'll are killing me with the "ugly stickers". That is what he keeps saying. I like the stickers. They were on it when I bought it, I do have to say though, the pictures don't do it justice, they are not that bad in person....

Here are pictures of my '97 Jeep Wrangler. Was going to give it to my 16 year old son but he thinks it is ugly. What do ya'll think? If he doesn't change his mind it may end up for sale or trade....
