No helmets were required when i went a few months ago. I am going this friday-Sat night so hopefully the showers are open. The best thing to do is use mapquest, i put in the latitude and longitude in and zero'd in on bigscrub. If you are on google earth, it is the northwest corner of NF-588 and SE 127th St Rd. Copy and paste this in your end location! "Google Earth - New Placemark" lat=29.0499624676, lon=-81.7550551363 Copy that and put it in there and it should work, you will see a small white square in the northwest corner when you zoom, that tiny thing is the Big Scrub!

hey Raptor660R, I didn't receive an email telling me there was a response here(sorry).
What I believe us as a group will buy into is around 400 or so acres. Fortunately, the price has been dropping in recent months. I believe we'll be able to find prices in the $10-14,000 dollar per acre range (roughly 4-6 million per riding facility). The real plus with what we're doing is everyone owns. They can sell, trade - whatever with their share of the land.
I believe we can support several riding areas we just need to join forces and open our first one. Then we can add more and those who purchased a little far from home initially can trade or sell out to buy into one closer to their home (or own into multiple locations).
I've found acreage that has been cleared...I'm sure we don't want that. I've also found (but haven't been able to research) 400+ wooded acres off Hwy27 near hwy 64 (near Sebring and Lake Placid).
For the heck of it...how does something like that sound to you (in the $3-4,000 per owner range)??
Well it all depends on what they will get in return. It will be hard to find people to dish out $3000-4000 without anything it it for them. Will they make anything overtime? This could be done with having a seperate entity set up basically an LLC and everyone owns shares in the company, and the company owns the land, that way everyone is protected. Also, are you still looking in the Ft. Pierce area?

My friends cancelled this weekend and it looks like it might rain Saturday. We plan on going next weekend, we have more people going next weekend anyway. They will get there Saturday Morning, I will get there around 7:00 at night, I have to leave after EMT Class. So I will ride all Sunday, they will ride Sat and Sun.

This actually happened to my friends Grandma in my home town of lovely Houston, TX. A man tried to break into her home by breaking a window and entering through the window, he ended up getting sliced up pretty bad and took her to court. I don't know all the details, but i know he won something, not dure if he got medical bills paid or what but he won. If that happened to me, I would go to jail because i think i would beat the crap out of them for sueing me for something so stupid.

General / Where to Ride? / I heard the Prairie in Okechobee is ILLEGAL now!

I heard a girl rolled over her buggy or something out there and died so now even to land owners there is no riding allowed! Is this true. My friends cousin has land out there and he got a notice in the mail stating that there is no riding out there anymore. Is this true to land owners and did this really happen?

went out there yesterday, was fun, he's a really nice guy. Had a good time. It's not really a place to where i can get ingo 4th gear in my raptor so you cant do any drag racing, but its alot of fun. Me and my friends had a mud wad, I was packing mudd on the fenders of my bike, catching up to them, grabbing a handful and wham! It was a blast, you just have to make due with what you have. 4X4's are fun out there.

General / Tech Corner / Re: Oil in airbox, Why????????????????
|
on: April 11, 2006, 02:02:05 PM
|
Its not too much oil on the filter because it's enough oil to fill up the little drain tube and have all the walls in the air box wet. I did notice my oil level was a bit high and i am hoping that was the problem, also if it was the piston rings it would smoke and it dosent smoke at all. Also I accidently mixxed a quart of synthetic oil in there, thats when it started happening, and my clutch has sliped about 5 times since, so I drained the oil, and replaced it, so i will post if it keeps doing it. Thanks for the info.

If underhills is the same place as Plant Bamboo, it says absolutely NO dirt bikes but there were tons of them riding when I went out there.
