Does anyone in your group ride sport bikes?
Not now. Everyone has migrated from Sport bikes, to Utility quads, and then to RZR's. We now have 3 RZR's and 3 UTE's in our group. We do ride a lot of mud and water mostlly creek crossings. I see a lot of sport quads up there every time I go. Check out these web sites: http://ridingatvs.embarqspace.com/http://www.atvresort.com/http://www.trailsheaven.com/The Outlaw trials are all the old free trails that are around and between the Hatfield/McCoy trails. I stay at the Ashland Camp Ground most of the time. The Ashland CG is located on the HFM Indian Ridge trial. About 12-14 miles north is the Pinnacle Creek HFM HFM trails. I usually ride beteen them and all around them and across them. JIm

The RZR stock springs suck. Got to go to after market springs or shocks too. I put the HighLifter springs on, then set it to 2 notches up front and back. I happy with that so far. I may consider the FOX shocks later but I got other upgrades planned first. Got a 09 RZR and continue to add access's nearly every quarter. I'm putting half doors on soon, a cargo box, second set of fender flares, and I need another skid plate. It never ends.

ChillintheMost, I'm trying to plan a trip April 7 thru 11. Got to verify my work schedule first. In any case I'm going Memorial Day weekend and the week following. Are you interested in any of those dates? Jim

Where can you ride now that you even need a GPS? I used to use one a lot in Ocala back in the day while learning my way around. With the new trail system you are so limited that there is no way to get lost. Big Cypress is a place where you could use one but I cant think of anywhere else in this state that has a large enough riding area to need one. . I've heard at River Ranch people mark their track with beer cans. This works great until some doogooder comes along and picks up you cans and then you have to spend the night in the woods waiting to be rescued. West Virginia Outlaw Trails. The best place to ride on the east coast.

I use the Garmin GPSMAP 60CSX. It has a good handle bar mount. It has a color screen and good receivers. I can get a signal in the house. Simple to use and you can down load various maps, tracks, routes . It supports a 2GB SD card for additional storage. It works for me. Jim

Dawn, The Ocala Adventure trail is 45 miles. Not sure is there are other trails you can still legally ride out of Big Scrub. Have not been there in a while.
I have been to Suburban Estates a few times. A friend has a nice place there with a couple of trailers.
I hit the Pigpen everytime I go to the North end usually a the end of my ride. It takes me about 30 minutes to get from the Pigpen to Rodman Dam if I ride.
Rodman Dam is just off Hwy 19. From Salt Springs drive North on Hwy 19 to the big high Canal Bridge. Just before the bridge (maybe 200 yards) turn left and go about 3 miles and you will cross the dam. Continue across the dam to the parking lot (another 1/2 mile or less). Park there. The atv trailhead is there. If you continue on you truck, NF road 88 goes south from there.
From Palatka type Hwy 19 south and after crossing the Canal Bridge, take the first right and follow the directions above. When you come off the bridge start checking up quickly or you won't make the right turn. Good Ridin.

I don't have a problem with fees and I buy the yearly pass at $75.
I do think the yearly pass is a bit high considering I can buy a yearly out of state pass to ride all 600+ miles of the Hatfield McCoy Trails in WV for $50 and I only go there 3 to 4 times a year and I do buy the pass.
But I'm happy to how a place to ride even at $75 a year.

It appears they are now calling the Centennial Trail the Ocala Adventure Trail. Go to the website and select the Ocala Adventure Trial. That map is a little better than the Centennial Trail map. For some reason it does not show Big Scrub but it's there on lower end. http://www.fs.fed.us/r8/florida/ocala/recreation/ohv.overview.php?p=1.1.3.4The fees are the same on both the north and south ends. $10 for 3 day pass or $75 for yearly pass. I want to ride the Ocala Adventure Trail again this month. Just waiting for better weather. Let me know when you are going, maybe we can hook up for a ride. Good ridin! Jim

You can still park at Rodman Dam and jump on the Yellow trail there and that's all legal. You just cannot ride in the "PIT" area. The Yellow trail goes around the northeast corner of the PIT. I hate it but it's true.

It's a drive! but the Wagon Wheel area in West Virginia has got hills. Some will challenge the best of riders. It's 10 hours from Jacksonville Fl but well worth it. I usually go for 5 ot 6 days . It's just south of the Hatfield-McCoy trails. If interested I can provide more details. Jim

Hey Jeffgre,
Great job guiding our bunch. I believe a large time was had by all. My odometer showed my Rubi covered 50 miles. Enjoyed playing at Eureka Dam and stopping at the 88 Store.
My buddy on the 400EX from North Carolina said the trip was well worth it.
Thanks for letting us hook up with your group.
I got it all on my GPS and I may do a re-run this Saturday.
Thanks, Jim
P.S. Check your email.
