17  General / Open Discussion / Memories on: January 26, 2013, 06:36:33 PM
I just checked my profile and saw that I registered in November of 2005. I have met a lot of good friends on this site. My best friend from here is AintSkeered. He and I have logged many "successful missions". Probably close to 100 rides he an I have been on and logged over 2000 miles.  Mudneck is another. Great times and good memories. The economy really hit a lot of us and riding was one of the first things to be cut back on. I have ridden with Anoriginal a few times as well. There are several people that used to be very active on here that have came and went. "JackL" for one. He had some of the best pictures and best stories. I don't come here as often as I used to but I would not be riding if not for this site. MrBones, though I never actually met him, has done an awesome job keeping this site fresh and meaningful. Thanks Bones!!. I am a Contributing Member and will forever be one.

A hard thing for me to say is that my big brother died while riding an ATV back on 04/12/03. His name was Keith but we called him Keeter. I use his nickname as my nickname so his memory will live on. ATVFlorida got me into the sport after he died. My mom was not happy that I started riding so soon after my brother died doing it.

So my message is respect the sport of riding an ATV and support sites like this one that help get people riding and KEEP them riding.

Thanks to AintSkeered, Bushwacker (aka Mudneck), Anoriginal, Mat4x4, JackL, and the several other friends I have made from this site. And a big THANK YOU to mrbones. Keep it up brother.

19  General / Open Discussion / Re: Truck Tires on: January 12, 2013, 06:23:41 PM
I'm entertaining the idea of putting 33"s on my truck, but I'm not really sure where's a good place to shop.

About 40 seconds of googling gave me this http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/tires/gt_radial/product/submitProductSize.do?pc=12456&utm_source=FroogleCSE&utm_medium=Shopping&utm_campaign=FroogleCSE&gclid=COy-o6z757MCFUeRPAodmSoAGw

Which doesn't really look too but, but then again I don't really know what to look for.

Any help would be much appreciated Tongue

That's where I shop.
20  General / Open Discussion / Re: RR New Years Day on: January 12, 2013, 06:22:37 PM
That was probably just Keeter passing gas after eating too much! But, I didn't hear a thing, spent Sunday and Monday sleeping(on cold meds) in my camper.

Dang, I just saw this.  Thought no one knew.. Grin Grin
21  General / Open Discussion / Re: do u think, after market exhausts are worth there cost?? on: December 23, 2012, 08:02:32 AM
$900 ok a bit cheaper but its still $900 +tax$63.which u are at alomst$1000.00...i totaly agree with (keeter)..and after u install ur $1000, exhaust system the costs dont end there, then u have rejet ur carb, possibly upgrade ur air filter and airbox,..the only thing ur gonna get 4sure is more noise, which is gonna draw negative attention from everybody..ive seen a honda 450 race quad being dyno'ed with oem pipe & then a pricey after market pipe, the gains were soo minor that it reallllllllllly wasnt worth the $$$..the after market exhaust industry has created an industry on false  & hyped up claims..

X2 Well said
22  General / Open Discussion / Re: do u think, after market exhausts are worth there cost?? on: December 21, 2012, 10:43:34 AM
IMHO, they are not worth it. Big cost low gain. The biggest gain is the decibel levels and how much others are annoyed by you who run next to or behind you.
23  General / Tech Corner / Re: Thinking about adding a winch on: December 21, 2012, 10:40:35 AM
I believe the Polaris winch is a Warn.  I run a 3500 Gorilla winch with the synthetic rope. Never had an issue.
24  General / Tech Corner / Re: 2002 Polaris Predator problems on: December 21, 2012, 10:39:11 AM
sounds like a compression issue to me. Check compression should be at least 120. I would bet you need rings or crank seals.
spray a little starting fluid in the carb throat and see if it will fire. If not I bet compression is the issue. Next step is a leakdown test.
I agree I had the same issue with a Polaris 400L Spark but not fire.  Compression was crap.  But try the starter fluid idea anyways. Best way to know for sure if it is a fuel delivery issue or compression.
25  General / Tech Corner / Re: Sportsman 500 HO Snorkel on: December 21, 2012, 10:36:27 AM
If or when I decided to cut my Polaris 800 up, my first stop would be Triangle Boys. Look them up on Youtube.  That is how I want to roll.

Nice info though. Doing it on your own is brave.
