1  General / Open Discussion / is anything selling? on: December 06, 2008, 09:00:48 AM
i was hesitant to spend the $70 to list my 2 4 wheelers in the cycle trader. finally did it, and as i figured, wasted my money. i didnt even get 1 call.  anyone selling a bike...... has it sold?  hate to give em away, but damn i guess that is probably the only hope of getting em out of the garage
2  General / Open Discussion / Re: whats it worth? on: September 20, 2007, 08:34:04 PM

I have to agree, with all the extra mods your further ahead

Not so fast grasshopper, it's Italian fast yes, sexy yes, always broke yes!
And I am assuming, since its italian, its expensive?
[/quote]

not necessarily always broke, but requires regular service that is expensive

9  General / Open Discussion / Re: street bike owners? on: April 17, 2007, 08:48:58 PM
those are too big.  not looking for a 200hp land yacht
10  General / Open Discussion / street bike owners? on: April 17, 2007, 07:09:41 PM
well i have been off a street bike for probably 5 yrs or so now and i am getting the itch with summer coming.  the 4 wheelers are kinda getting boring so my sons and wifes just sit.  i was thinking about geting a street bike again to tool around on and enjoy the summer.
i was looking at an R1, but i have always wanted a ducati, and a twin more fots my riding style, as  i like the low end torque.  i have never ridden a 749, but always heard that they werent all that powerful.  has anyone actually rode one to know. i suppose i may have to go 996, but i am older now and really dont care to go 175mph anymore, i just want a strong bike.
11  General / Tech Corner / best winch for a rhino? on: February 12, 2007, 11:48:43 AM
i am looking at winches for the rhino and want one that is hefty enough to pull it out of mud if needed.  i was looking at the warn 4000lb and the ramsey 5000lb.  they run almost the same in price.
one thing i noticed is that these are chassis mounted, so i need a different mount plate.  do i need a fairlead for the bumper as well?
12  General / Tech Corner / Re: money well spent!! on: June 08, 2006, 08:32:34 PM
the fact that it is valved to your weight and riding style makes it feel good to you.  my shock may not feel good to someone else that weighs more.  so even if you get a used shock for $400, plus you need a link, then you need to have it valved to your specs...after all that what do you have?  about $500 more invested for the same ride
13  General / Tech Corner / Re: money well spent!! on: June 08, 2006, 08:11:15 PM
have to go to the web site and look.  i think its like $300 to do the rear. thats if you need a spring also.  the link is like $175, plus the spring $95, and the revalve adds up to like $300 or so.  i didnt need the spring as my weight was ok for the stocker on the rear, so it was a little cheaper.  well worth every penny
what, 300!!!!
I'll just save up a lil more and buy a whole new better one Undecided

you wont get a better shock for twice the money.  a revalved shock is comparable to any aftermarket shock(within reason) for a fraction of the money

ya i had the stockers redone.  they revalve and respring the rtear for your weight, and they have a new rear link.  on the front they respring with dual or tripple rate springs(i went dual), revalve and machine the shock body to get 1" more travel
they do it for many quads, check out their site at gtthunder.com
16  General / Tech Corner / money well spent!! on: June 08, 2006, 04:53:21 PM
i got my 450r shocks rebuilt by GT Thunder and WOW! this thing rides like a caddy.  makes the whhops at croom feel like driving down a paved road. if anyone is considering it, DO IT! it will be the best investment you have ever made
17  General / Racing Scene / Re: mini atv turnout at dade city? on: June 07, 2006, 04:49:47 PM

18  General / Racing Scene / Re: mini atv turnout at dade city? on: June 07, 2006, 04:36:38 PM

19  General / Racing Scene / mini atv turnout at dade city? on: June 07, 2006, 04:16:22 PM
was wanting to take my son over to check out the quad races and was wondering how the mini turnout was?  also looking at the schedule this weekend is a motorcycle points night, does that mean there wont be quads?  hate to drive all the way over there and not have any quads, or would i be better off waiting till next week for the quad points night?
