1  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Good spot to camp and close atv riding in ocala florida on: October 14, 2011, 03:53:17 AM
Big Scrub is my favorite. Never crowded and a solid camp site. I believe they have indoor bathrooms. Trails are a stone's throw from the site

Hey, I just re-painted my 1985 Honda Magna V30. My buddy and I spent about 30 hours on this project. The original color was a black gloss.

This WWII themed paint job. Specifically, its design pays homage to the "Flying Tiger" fighter jets of WWII. The Flying tigers were one of the first squadrons to start painting the jaws on their planes. This bike is also a commemoration to my grandfather who was a paratrooper in the 504th. The letter number sequence on the right fairing was on one fo the C-47's that my grandfather jumped out of. This was my first paint job. I had a blast doing it and I could not have done it without my good friend John.  The tiger on the left fairing is a sticker...everthing else was stenciled on.

 Enjoy.
6  General / Tech Corner / Re: carb problems on a Polaris on: March 04, 2011, 04:24:06 PM
yea i would reccomend doing it yourself. The rebuilt kits are cheap. Plus youll never have to take it to the dealer again for your carbs.
7  General / Tech Corner / Re: carb problems on a Polaris on: March 04, 2011, 04:04:44 PM
Sounds like your main jet is clogged/dirty. It is NOT a hard job to do it. Save yourself the money and do it your self.  Does your bike sputter/backfire when it is reving dow? If you removed the air box lid and it runs fine then you may be running on the rich side (when your lid is on). Taking the lid off will increase your air flow. To solve this you could leave your lid off or you can tinker with your pilot screw in order to leab your bike out. If you are feeling uncomfortable doing it yourself buy a manual online for $6. They are easy to mess with.

My guess is your carb needs to be cleaned on the whole.

13  General / Open Discussion / Re: changing a sprocket to a diff tooth size on: February 01, 2011, 07:17:34 PM
No it doesnt really matter, You will get mor torque but a little less speed.  How is the chain?
14  General / Tech Corner / Re: how much would it cost to replace piston rings in a trx400? on: January 28, 2011, 10:13:01 AM
In terms of labor...Probally 3-4 hours break down. And another 3-4 hours of rebuild.  Assuming 60$/hour in labor... Then you are looking at 350$ - 500$ not including parts. As long as you are down there I would replace the piston. A piston kit And a top end gasket kit is what you are looking for

Yes, ONF is Ocala National forest. They are open all of the time and emply an "honor box" system. Very nice trails out there and not crowded.

22  General / Tech Corner / Re: 400EX cam chain and/or valves on: December 17, 2010, 02:59:56 PM
Yea there were several things going on, The timing chain was really stretched, the valves were off and the tensioner was broken, dont know how it managed to run, but should be up to to specs in a few days
23  General / Tech Corner / 400EX cam chain and/or valves on: December 04, 2010, 07:10:35 PM

Whats the clock speed on the i7 950? I run a an old Q6600 quad core at 2.4 GH.  The only thing that would improve your performance (marginally) would be to run an SLi configuraton. but its not necessary with your card.

nice set up BTW
25  General / Group Rides & Events / "Rancho" on: November 20, 2010, 03:19:52 PM
