BigDog is right......public record.......
The County Planning Board met in the Health Department Auditorium on Tuesday evening; Alternate Member Mitchell Hancock voted in the absence of Jeff Sumner. Also present were County Commissioner Bryant Culpepper and Undersheriff Noel Stephen. There was not a Board Attorney or a member of the press present for the meeting. Minutes were unanimously approved. There were no public comments. After fairly lengthy discussion, by a vote of 5:2 (Ted Kelchner and Carl Ferraro opposed) the Board followed Staff's recommendation that they recommend to the County Commission that the BOCC authorize the Planning & Development Department to issue Temporary Use Permits for 3 Okeechobee MudFest events in February 2011, August 2011, and February 2012, subject to 5 conditions, the main one being to schedule a de-briefing meeting after each event for assessment and feedback. The recommendation includes that an officer be stationed at the entrance to the Crooked Creek subdivision at the discretion of the Sheriff's Department. The main area for concern by the dissenting voters was that 2012 was a long way out and they suggested the permits should be issued one at a time instead of all 3 at once. One of the applicants, Debbie Sales, asked that they be approved together so they can advertise for upcoming events at the first event. She added these would likely be the final 3 events since their 270-acre property will soon be about 27 acres smaller due to land acquisitions for FDOT's project to 4-lane SR 70. Applicant Carla Hales was also present. Noel Stephen gave his opinion that as long as the applicants continue to cooperate with the County, the events should be okay. Bryant Culpepper started to address the Board but was asked to hold his comments for the BOCC meeting on December 16th at 9:00am. When asked, Sales reviewed event pricing: 2 events ago in 2008 their rates were $15/day and $30/weekend resulting in approximately 12,000 participants, their last event rates were $50/day and $100/weekend with about 5,000 participants, rates for their next event will be $20/day and $40/weekend. Economic impacts to Okeechobee were vaguely discussed though no formal study has been completed. When asked, County Planning Director Bill Royce said it would take a major event failure for his office to not issue permits for the 2nd or 3rd event. Hoot Worley said he was okay with it as long as County Staff and the Sheriff's Department were okay with it and no one from Crooked Creek was upset about it. Royce said traffic is the biggest concern and signs will be posted 1 week prior to the events warning travelers to expect delays. Stephen added that the tremendous back-ups are caused since the event is held on a main thoroughfare and that traffic isn't as bad when these type of events are held off the beaten path. Kelchner noted that these have never come before the Planning Board before; Royce responded that they should have once the event traffic became so heavy.

This was a P A R T Y. We got on it Saturday morning and never stopped until we left Sunday morning. Saw more skin than I would have ever believed (Not a bad thing at all ) A little more dusty than I cared for but the fun and the sights made up for it. Cool to meet the Hillbilly Hotties out there and the band and the wet t-shirt contest were great. Sure hope we can have another one SOON.

So Jeep girl, when and where are you riding next?
My wife has a nice set and may want to set them free too!
We are going to C&R next weekend. Do not know if we will make L-Cross the following weekend because we may have a work party that weekend. Let's ride!

Enough of you know me and have ridden with me, I am sure there are pictures out there. Check with BamBam, ATVGirl, Digital, LilRedneckGirl, BigDog, NosPrairie, RCrow, BCConviber, their friends (I don't remember all of you, sorry), or just come out and ride with me and my crew.....once we hit the trails or the mud, freedom just comes naturally

No worries there flap jack. Hey guys she wants to ride. Have fun w/ that one. She'll keep your hands full.
I, as well as the others on here that I have had the great pleasure to ride with, can guarantee you that "flap jack" in no way would be an accurate description or nick-name for me. Of course, knowing your physical characteristics, or lack thereof, I do believe you must have meant for that term to be your signature on that comment instead of directed at me. My comfort with my own body, which I keep in great physical condition, as well as my very open and pleasing personality, allows me to proudly participate in any activity I choose without shame. I can understand how you have not found that level of comfort. Thanks for the support guys……ready to ride when you are (C&R in Dec for sure).

Then take them to south beach. What the heck are you thinking starting a thread on a family forum about setting them free though. I don't believe they have anything to do w/ atv riding or the such. Head over to floridaatv or atvfloridaextreme site for this discussion.
Or you can post them on myspace w/ the other hootches.
I had a response typed to this woman (questionable???), but then I figured I would just let her usual negativity and holier than thou attitude speak for itself. I see lots of others on here did not take offense to my very generic post and I appreciate that. My reference did not have to be taken like this one rider took it. Let's ride guy's!

General / Where to Ride? / Re: C & R WATCH YOUR TRUCKS !!!!!!!!!!

I was at C&R saturday, had a great time untill the truck pulls.TROY got pulled in his buggy and then let it roll back into a newer f250.I understand that things happen and C&R cant be held responsable for accadents,BUT when he hit the truck he said something on the P A system like (I hope you have insurance) and then halled a$$ with the other C&R buggy following and other C&R workers with out talking to or at least pulling the guys truck to the main gate so a tow truck could get him home!!!!!!!(radiator, grill, hood, ect damage)This left a bad taste in my mouth and I left shorty after and will not be back!!! SO am I correct to assume that you can damage anyones property a C&R and say I hope you have insurance and not be responsable for your own actions or does this apply only to the cosen few? ?? Maby this was the best way to handle this so a fight didnt break out but I dont see it that way. MIKE That really sucks. Even more so since it was the people that run the place doing that. I bet if something like that happened out at L-Cross Mr. Pearce would have made sure the damaged truck was taken to a shop and probably have even loaned them something else. Accidents do happen, but c o c k y behavior like that is not exusable.
