wolves are so awesome! how much do wolves cost?
Depends on the line and % of Timber in them. These are going to be pretty high % of Timber. But its all up to whoever does the selling .

 Lovinit,
Yeah, we have had peaple asking already too, Hasnt even happened yet !! LOL
I do like the odds of the blue eyes. We REALLY miss her dad NORTH. Out friends who had him, we thought would want a pup, but after North was stolen from them, they said they couldnt handle it if that happened again.
I sent my #`s as well in a pm. hopefully they like each other too !!!

Does Brutus ever howl Huh Ember does all the time, BUT, only if I start it. If we are watching t.v. with a wolf program on, and they start to howl, she will look at the t.v., BUT wont howl back. Kinda like "I dont know you thing". They are VERY pack oriented animals, with alpha male and alpha female thing

I agree with Don - It depends on how the puppies are raised. But you have to be really consider who you give/sell them to. They are not like dogs in my opinion. There is such a difference between the two kind. The mastiff/ rott mix he has acts like a dog. Brutus acts like a wolf - and they are so smart.

He is very very pack orientated. We are his pack LOL! However he is not Alpha Male..he tries to be when my bf goes out of town but my bf is definately Alpha dog. It becomes a pissing contest..Brutus tries to dominate me LOL. It drives me crazy!!

The howling question is more like when does he not howl LOL. Brutus howls at every police car, ambulance and fire truck that passes by wether he is inside or outside. He howls when we get home and does this low woooo, wooo wooo thing half howl half bark. He howls ALL the time. I love it but not at 5:30am when he is outside and the neighbors can hear him "singing". We can howl at him and tell him to sing and he will get going as well.

I AM SO HAPPY YOU LIKE HIMMMMM!!!  Kiss  Kiss

Soooo excited the odds that one if not more have blue eyes should be pretty high since they have it on both sides!!!!

We keep telling Brutus "he is gonna get him some soon" poor thing walks around not knowing what the heck to do with that thing that keeps poppin' out! LMAO..

We have been telling people what we are trying to do...ALREADY have at least two SOLD not to mention the one WE WANT!! Can't wait to have another PUPPY!!
(When brutus' mom was fixed, quite a few missed out and are now excited about MORE PUPPIES!!!!)

5  General / Open Discussion / Re: Warning about Hand sanitizer on: June 05, 2007, 11:15:27 AM
Thankfully it wasn't my daughter it was an email I got from my aunt. Amazingly enough this isn't the first child to be taken into the ER after using, licking, or swallowing the sanitizer. There is another one on Snopes. It's surprising they can't find something else that will kill bacteria other than alcohol.

There are several kinds out there that do not use alcohol. You just have to read the labels and see whats in the product.

http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=Alcohol+free+Hand+Sanitizer&form=QBRE&go.x=19&go.y=8

Most of the ones I have bought state KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

I used to use this stuff on my kid as well, that is until the hand washing became an issue. All he wanted to use was the sanitizer...that was not promoting good hygiene.

chero - 1st I have to say I have no issues with you at all but religion has nothing to do with this thread...this thread is about transgender people. This has nothing to do with schools or teaching religion - i must have missed the relevance to your post and No - I have no problem with God at either.

How many of you who are so against this actually took a look at the link I posted regarding the 20/20 story?

7  General / Open Discussion / Re: Steve Stanton on: May 30, 2007, 02:39:27 PM
What about the inner demons that he just created in his son's life.  Come on the kid is 13 years old, that is like a very critical time in a kids life.

I read your longer post as well. I see ALL the points you have made here as well. However he had 2 parents - the mom was well aware of what her husband did at night and she CHOOSE to keep her child in that situation. Again why does all the blame go on Susan? She is now soley responsible for the inner demons she has supposedly caused her child. I don't agree with that.

That is why I state the person who leaked the info to the press before Steve was even off the property to be attacked by media crews should have been fired. Gee that person breached a confidential meeting but that is ok right?
This person was planning on taking a leave of absence - seriously don't you think he was going to speak to his child? He never had that chance - his kid found out from the media, due to a city offical leaking confidential information.
8  General / Open Discussion / Re: Steve Stanton on: May 30, 2007, 02:22:25 PM
Cross dressing is not the issue here.

Would you be more ok with the surgery if she would have been been born with both parts, then had to make a choice what parts to keep?

2strokins comment - that the message she is sending is do what you want no matter what people think - I think that is a very strong message, and I commend that. There should be more people who do what they feel is right for them and not care what people think - That is a leader...

I also agree that the whole time Steve was in office he felt and ran the city of Largo feeling like a woman. So now even though you were good enough as a man now that you are a woman you need to be fired. That is crap!!

I am saying it is is not up to ANY ONE OF US to judge someone based on having a sex change operation. Obvisously none of you have experienced first hand what these people go through. THEY ARE STILL PEOPLE and should be treated as a person.

Here is the link I keep referring to about the 20/20 episode about transgender children....let me guess they are freaks/nut jobs too??? I think not. People ARE born this way and its sad that society has to ALWAYS pass judgement. Why dosen't everyone seriously look at this. This story when it aired broke my heart.

She made the cut for the top 6 of Sarasota's city manager

The SCBOCC votes on it today

Check out them hands. Gonna be lonely at the Stanton home, unless he gets Bigscrubs15's #. Hahaha

Ah but he/she paid to have female parts.  Now he can play w/ them forever.  Now he can go into any women's locker room and watch the shower scene w/o getting thrown out.  He/she can have all the female t & a for a lifetime.  In addition, as all you men often tell women...that women can get IT much easier than they can.  Now he/she has increased his/her odds of getting some?  Idiot or mastermind?  Think about it.

Seriously I commend her for going through all the public ridicule that most folks who have this type of surgery do NOT have to go through. I watched a 20/20 special on transgender children - I think everyone should have watched it. It really shed light on the situation and all that transgender people go through.

My stand on it is (1)To each his own & (2) I do not feel he should have been fired for it. His sexuality had no effect on how the job was being done prior to the public finding out.

Also the person who leaked his story at the time this all came about should be fired. It was discussed in a private manner and that person had no business calling the media prior to him making the announcement. That was out of personal revenge.

Theres my opinion.

I'm sorry, chopping off the family jewels will never seem right to me. I don't care who you are.
Personal revenge is what makes the world go round. LMAO. While things that happen in peoples homes should remain private, this is a public figure and this is just plain weird, and it didn't happen in his home
. The whole situation makes Florida and Tampa look bad, not that it could look much worse anyway, but come on...This man is incurring rightful public ridicule.

All the hormones, knives and best wishes in the world will never change that simple fact IMO.

I am not sure I understand what you are saying there where I highlighted it.
He never dressed that way at work or during anything related to work. Not sure what the relevancy is there.

Not sure how she makes Tampa look bad either since she has nothing to do with Tampa? Let alone how she makes the state look bad. The state made themselves look bad when they fired some one based off sexuality vs job performance. Everyone that worked with Steve stated what a great job he did as city manager. So who made the state look bad other than the state?

The whole point I was making was that sexuality has nothing to do with how the job was being performed. Morally I do not agree with it but who am I to judge. Like I said the 20/20 episode on transgender people was very enlighting. Have you ever seen anything pertaining to a transgender 6yr old? Would it be sick if a 12yr old child wanted to do this after living all those years feeling they don't belong in their own body.

I guess I don't understand why everyone is getting so bent out of shape about this. Seriously does her choice to become a woman affect any of you personally? NO it dosen't...I do not even feel bad for her former wife, she knew he felt this way for a long time.

I am not saying here that no one is entitled to an opinion either....

Dyno - I see where you are coming from, really I do. Comparison to a pedafile as a teachers aid in the classroom is a completely different situation. Genetic defect vs sexual predator.

I guess I see this all so differently than anyone else because in high school there was a transgender male that went from male to female. The things people did to her were so mean and horrible, I am suprised she never committed suicide. Students wanted her out of honors classes because she was different not because she wasn't smart. Same thing here - get rid of him because he is different not because he couldn't do the job.

I knew I should have stayed out of this thread

It comes from both. All the registration money from your OHV goes to the Mark T. Schmidt fund, and I believe 10 - 20 percent from fuel tax goes to the fund. An interesting point is if a certain amount of money from the fund doesn't get used, the government is looking to get it back.

Is this thread a follow up story to this one. Because this is a better take and actually puts the blame on the parents.

I agree with gearhead400 in this thread below - Maybe Marisa is not against us....maybe we can ask to to help us show all the protective gear we have out there that PARENTS should supply for thier children to help reduce risk of serious injury....

A real reporter would have looked at that girls parents and asked why she was riding double on an adult size machine while pointing at the warning labels mounted on the fender of an atv.while pointing out to the parents that it says noone under 16,no passengers.it is a parental supervision problem and those are the only ones you can point the finger at the idiot parents.

That is the exact point I was making. I will be done with my email on this view point to her in just a few minutes.

4 In Your Corner Investigation
ATV Safety

May 21, 2007 10:15 PM EDT

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission over the past 20 years, there have been around 300 ATV related deaths in Florida...more than 60 of those people were under 16. Right now, ATV safety standards are voluntary. With the number of deaths rising all the time, some consumer groups want to know how many more people have to die before those voluntary standards become mandatory? I checked out both sides of the issue to find out what's going on and what safety experts say needs to be done.
Back in October, Justine Huffer of North Port was riding on an ATV with her friend when the unexpected happened. Huffer says she "made a left turn, a really sharp left turn and it was on a shell driveway. We think that the ATV slid on the shells." She tells me that's when the adult-sized ATV flipped. "I stuck my leg out to catch myself from falling and the ATV fell over on my leg and it dragged it." What happened next will scar Huffer for the rest of her life. She tells me the "bone broke into the ground and I lost part of my bone, like a few inches or something."      Even experienced riders like 22-year-old Chris Skillman of Lehigh Acres have their horror stories. He tells me once when he was on his ATV, he "flipped it and fractured my shoulder blade and messed my shoulder up. Other than that, that's pretty much it." Skillman tells me he's been riding ATVs since he was about 5-years-old.
Skillman wasn't injured severely enough to stop riding ATVs, but every year a lot of people are. CPSC data shows that there were 467 ATV related deaths in 2005. 120 of those that died were children under 16. Rachel Weintraub of the Consumer Federation of America says those numbers are devastating. She tells me, "over 90% of children who are injured or killed on ATVs are actually operating adult-sized ATVs. So the problem is the system isn't working and isn't preventing kids from riding machines that are too large and too powerful for them."
Right now, there's a voluntary standard in place that recommends children not ride adult-sized ATVs but the Consumer Federation of America wants it mandatory. The group that could change that is the Consumer Product Safety Commission. So I went straight to CPSC spokesperson Scott Wolfson. I asked, "why not make that voluntary standard mandatory?" He responded by saying "it really is an issue where CPSC is an agency that doesn't go into somebody's home...doesn not go into someone's backyard."
Instead, the CPSC is developing rules to help drive down deaths. They include banning 3-wheel ATVs and offering free training. Meanwhile, Justine Huffer's parents aren't against ATVs, but they do want tougher safety standards. As for Justine, her scarred leg hasn't completely scared her away from riding again. She says "for right now, I think I'll stay off of them."
Obviously, far fewer people get hurt on ATVs than in cars but there are far more cars than ATVs. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, in 2003 about 116-thousand people got hurt or killed on ATVs that year. That works out to 0.18 per ATV. In that same year, according to the feds, 1.9-million people got hurt or killed on the highways, or .08 per vehicle. When you divide the two, you find ATV riders are more than twice as likely to get hurt per vehicle.
The CPSC is working on a complete ban of 3-wheelers and it wants to require stronger warnings to parents. Meanwhile, there's no law in Florida requiring ATV riders to be a certain age and you don't have to have a license to operate one.
                                                                                                                       MARISA MENDELSON
                                                                                                            mmendelson@fox4now.com

How old is Justine??? What size ATV???

I find it very interesting that when Justine's accident is mentioned her age nor size of atv is, it just stated "adult sized ATV" flipped over on her. But yet the rider in the next paragraph is listed as 22yrs old. I am lead to belive she was not on an "age appropriate" ATV. In the end of the article it again references Justine and "her parents would like to see tougher standards" more indication the rider was not on an "age appropriate" atv. Also I want to point out that reading Justines story it said she was RIDING ON an ATV WITH HER FRIEND...was that a 2up ATV she was on? Does anyone see the point I am making.

What I got from this article was that a parent allowed their child to ride an "adult sized atv" got hurt and the parents want to see harsher laws on ATV's because of it......Am I the only one that sees it that way.

There are currently labels on ATV's that say no one under the age of whatever should operate ATV. My question is what type of harsher laws could they come up with that they think people will actually follow? There are many parents now that let the children under the age of 16 ride with out a helmet and that is a state law. Why are the parents not getting tickets for allowing their child to break the law? I truely beleive the only way to have child atv related injuries reduced is to start holding parents accountable. After all the child would not be on an ATV if the parent did not allow them...well then the parent needs to make sure their child is as safe as can be as there is danger in any sport!

The report is on the "lack of strict safety measures"
On the tv commercial they show what looks to be a 10 year old little girl that was hurt on an atv, which I can almost bet she was on a bike twice the size she needed to be on. They also show the reporter making a phone call, asking "why aren't there stricter saftey procedures for atv" like she's some troubleshooter tuff guy. Her story i can tell already will be one sided, hopefully someone can get the link on here and we can email her with constructive comments. Maybe we can show her it's not the manufactures faults or the salesmans faults, it's the parents who let the kids run wild on them. It's seems as if no one can take responsibility for there own actions anymore.
Plus who needs safety rules anyway when there is no where to ride?? an atv can't get much safer sitting in the garage Huh
This is the womens email that is actually doing the story, her name is
Marisa Mendelson
mmendelson@fox4now.com

I just wanted to add that unfortunately some of the fault does lie in the manufactures...or should I say the rules that the manufactures have to abide by not sure....

The atv size/cc rules have not been revised in years per the atv saftey council. That is a problem!! I really believe maybe just maybe atvs would not get a bad name when you see a kid on an atv that is not the appropriate size if the sizes were adjusted. Not sure if that makes sense. Let me try and put it this way. The general impression in society is that the sticker on the atv says no riders under the age of 12 on a 90cc. People look at that and go that kid shouldn't have even been on that atv he was under the required age. If the regulations were adjusted, and the 12 year old was on a 200cc or 250cc bike would people be so quick to judge? Probably not if the sticker would have their age catagory listed. See the point I am trying to make here. Please don't read this like I am blaming the manufactures I am not at all. They need people on thier side to help get the regualtions adjusted.

We have all bitched about this before. My child was in danger of being hurt on a 50cc atv at 6yrs old. He stands almost to my shoulders and is not a little boy. Him riding on a 50cc was so much more dangerous in the aspect that quad was getting more and more tippy when he would lean to the side just because of his size. Just like a 9 your old being on a 90cc unless that kid is tiny they are at more risk of being hurt on an "age appropriate" quad. The point is let the media get ahold of the fact that my son gets injured on a 90cc when he should have been on a 50cc and I will be the "bad parent" who has their kid on an inappropriate sized atv. Hope the point I was trying to make, makes sense.

ATV safety with children in my opinion all comes down to personal accountability on the childs parent. Nothing happens to parents when a child under the age of 16 is on an atv if they are not wearing a helmet. Why? Is it not the law that under 16 you must wear a helmet. Maybe if more and more parents had to pay the fines or actually be responsible for the actions of their kids they would take safety a little more seriously. Maybe not. See it this way if that dosen't make sense..Its just like us riders, we get stopped and told its not a legal riding area and if we come back we will get a ticket...what do MOST of us do? Not go back because we don't want to chance our bikes getting impounded or getting a ticket.

Okay now I feel kind of stupid, man I can't believe how I let myself get so worked up over my son....

Check his sinuses, and said it is for sure allergies that are causing these symptoms, they prescribed Flonase and Zrytec.

Chero - you can never ever feel stupid for worrying about your son. My son is 7. I worry about him all the time. We have spent many sleepless nights at the hospitals with his asthma since he was born. I have no such thing as a common cold with him. EVERY cold we end up on the breathing machine (nebulizer treatments 4-5 times a day) if not the ER.

Anyway I wanted to tell ya was they prescribed him Zyrtec. I was told to give it to him at bed time, that it will make him sleepy...He became a ZOMBIE and was ready for bed within 20mins of taking it. There were still lingering effects of that in the morning. Made him really hard to wake up for school and he was always groggy! I know medicine is different with every child, just wanted to let you know the side effects we had from Zyrtec. After about 3 weeks I took him off of it.
