Palm Beach Post Staff Writer
Wednesday, June 04, 2008
THE ACREAGE — Two youths were injured after the ATV they were riding rolled over in a swale Wednesday evening, authorities said.
The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. at 12677 56th Place N, said Capt. Don DeLucia, spokesman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.
One of the two juveniles was not moving when paramedics arrived and was flown to St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach. The other was less seriously injured and was able to walk once paramedics arrived at the scene.

how do you get to C&R from WPB ?? Website says it's in Palmdale which I think is in glades county but the address says venus florida which shows in highlands county in Google earth. Is it just off of US27 ?? Easy to see signs from US27 as you can tell I've never been there before... I've been to Hendry county speedway off us27.. do I just keep going north form there

Everglades Area 2A north (the area south of the L5 Levy) is closed due to the fires. Holeylands ( north of the L5 Levy) is open and Rotenberger ( north of L5 and West of Miami Canal) is open. But the L5 levy itself is also closed so you have to access Holeylands and Rotenberger from the north entrance.

Only has to be registered if you put any kind of motor on it (even trolling motors). Call FWC and tell them you need a vessel inspection and an officer will come out and inspect the boat (make sure it's not stolen) and give you all you need to go to DMV and register it. http://myfwc.com/boating/safety/law_summary.htmCall 1-888-494-FWCC (3922) to get you local FWC office.

General / Tech Corner / 2002 Yamaha kodiak 400 bogging down
|
on: September 28, 2006, 01:30:03 PM

The bike is a 2002 Yamaha Kodiak 400 Automatic 4x4. I'm trying to figure out why this kodiak is bogging when it's under load, like in the mud. It runs fine otherwise. Starts sputtering and has NO power when it's under load in the mud. And I can get it to it in the drive way if I hold down the front brake and nail it in reverse. it spins the tires but sounds like it's missing really bad and sputtering. I just changed the oil, diff fluids, and spark plug. And cleaned out and re-oiled the air filter and it still isn't any better. The bike is completley 100% stock! Any suggestions ??

It's the road on the right cr714 about 20 ft before you enter okeechobee county. Maybe 15-20 minutes out of indiantown. I live off okeechobee and job in WPB and it usually takes me about 45 to get there. When do you plan on going ? I'm going out there Sunday if you want to follow someone..

I have the HMF on my Rancher AT 400. Definately notice the power gains immediately... pulls through the mud instead of bogging down and also alot easier to pick the front end up :-) It's alot louder and deeper toned. I would put the quiet core in depending on where I'm riding and that would help. But for stuff like underhills and l-cross theres no need to worry about noise.

General / Open Discussion / Re: Construction out at Holeylands?
|

Just for information Holeylands does NOT start at US27. That area is an STA (Storm Water Treatment Area) it is STA 3/4 I believe but not completely sure, I'll look that up. That is owned by the SFWMD. Holeylands does not start until after the paved road where the levee splits. Holeyland, rotenberger, and the everglades area are completely owned and operated by the state (FWC). These pavilions being built are on the SFWMD property and should not affect holeyland other than you will pass them on your way out there. But they will bring more people closer to where the ATVer's are. Now mostly fisherman use the STA and when the season is open they have duck hunts on some of them. But if they put in walking trails and pavilions it will bring more of the general, non-hunting,non-fishing, non-riding, public to the area. Which could be good or bad, depends on how they percieve we act on the land. If they see people constantly getting hurt and trashing the land then, they will more than likely be against the atver's. More people means more public exposure, depends on how we act how the public will percieve us.
