1  General / Open Discussion / Re: Dirtbike Pricing Question? on: October 08, 2008, 08:29:20 PM
I think Doug harvey would do it all for less than $300.  Takes him 3-4 hours.  He is in Deland and does a lot of FTR racers bikes.

If you want a bike, you will love how easy that 250f is to ride.  I had a 250f and a z400 and the 250f is like a z400 on steriods.  Don't worry about the handling, you will have to get the suspension redone for your weight and how you ride.  The good thing is that you don't have to buy new shocks or forks, just get them rebuilt, much less than new shocks.

There was 2 of them at the Brooksville Harescrambles.  Natalie and another guy were on them..  Looked nice.

Those results were the ones they threw out.  Please send in your ballot before Jan 31.  Mike

All you FTR quad scrambles and motorcrossers, you should have gotten your election ballot in the mail.  Please fill it out and mail it in by Jan 31 and remember one of our own wants to be Vice President so please vote for Brian Morris.  Have a great time at this weeks quad scramble.  Be safe.  Mike

I saw an Ocala Dealer advertising a Suzuki LTZ 400 for $4299.  I think it was in the FTR monthly Magazine.  Not sure what the out the door price is.

Anybody know who Number 6 was that dominated the A class on the yellow Suzuki?  He was flying.

Remember that you must still go through any double green arrows and can get disqualied if you don't stay within 20 feet of any orange arrow.  I believe the only exception to this is if this is a big log jam and officials are telling you to go somewhere else.

Thanks for the replies.  I got an email back from Mike up at Durhamtown and he said the limits are only for rentals.  Thanks again.

I called today to make reservations, I told the lady that we had 2 eleven year olds and asked her what size quads they were allowed to ride.  She said 50CC only.  When they are 12 they can ride 90cc.  This doesn't make sense to me.  Anybody been up there and seen different?
11  General / Open Discussion / Re: Toyota and Nascar(Nascar fans ONLY) on: March 02, 2007, 04:05:29 PM
I don't know if it is true, but somebody on NASCAR today said that the Camry was the only car made in the states.  The Chevy and Dodge are made in Canada and the Fusion is made in Mexico.  If that is true, Toyota definitely has it's place in Nascar.   I would think that if Honda decides to play, all of them are in trouble with the success they have had in racing worldwide.

Always the 3rd weekend in March!!
13  General / Open Discussion / Re: 2007 12 Hours of Sebring Race. on: November 09, 2006, 10:41:09 AM
My brother and I have been going since the early 1960's.  It really isn't a race as much as an event, kinda like the Indy 500, Kentucky Derby, Daytona 500.  There is good racing but the party is the reason you should go.  It is the 3rd weekend of March and has been for over 50 years, no reason to miss it.
14  General / Tech Corner / Re: z400 jetting? on: May 21, 2006, 04:46:13 PM
Should be a 155 in Florida but may have to move the needle setting.  Sometimes you just have to play with the setting and the jets.   Go to Z400Central.com and search in the tech section for your setup. Good luck.

Fred, don't worry too much.  Doctors really do know what they are doing most of the time.  Surgery doesn't hurt, rehab does!  I had 3 operations on my hand after I cased a jump at Hardrock and it is all better now.  Plus the drugs are really good!  Good luck, Mike

Does anybody know who took a header on the first downhill in the first pro motor.  I have it on video but can't tell what number it was.

Take your family to Ocala, either Rodmans or Big Scrub.  On a Monday, you will have the place to yourself, plus a lot better than Croom anyways.  If you need directions, let me know, I am from Gainesville and can tell you the easist way to both.
19  General / Open Discussion / Re: How do I say this without being too controversial? on: January 22, 2006, 12:45:09 PM
Guys, be careful about down playing FTR, they did start Croom many years ago and they are the only agency fighting for your rights at this point.   Government knows how many motorcycles and ATV's there are in Florida.  That is not the point.  When the State and local Governemnts have these meeting and 200 united locals show up to stop us from riding and 3 ATV riders show up without a game plan, guess who's gonna win.

I was at the Lake City meeting when the State of FLorida was trying to put in a riding area about 2 years ago.  It was a joke, the room was filled with locals who were friends  of the commissioners and representing the ATV riders were Jack Terrel from FTR and the local bike shop.  It took the commission about 10 minutes to make that choice.

It you are not willing to fight for land use for you and your kids, then it is not going to happen.
20  General / Tech Corner / Re: Exhaust with out rejjeting on: December 09, 2005, 11:10:29 AM
You shouldn't have to rejet with a new exhaust.  You will with a better air filter and with more air flow.  Put on the exhaust and try it. It shouldn't hurt the motor.
21  General / Open Discussion / Re: FTR Question on: October 04, 2005, 07:59:57 PM
Laurie, the quad series is new this year.  The only difference in the racing is that the hare scramble quad race is 1 1/2 hours long and the quad scrambles will be 2 hours long.  Lots of quads are stock.  After you ride one, the one thing you will understand is that making your quad faster is not something that you will need to do.  Making your quad ride smoother will make a big difference in how you ride and feel after the race..... Good luck.
