1. Thanks 2. It's near Elberton GA (12 miles from Elberton on hwy 77). Maybe twenty miles from DP.
In that area, there is bound to be mud anywhere. I like getting into some mud so I'm not sure if you'd like it or not. I've never ridden anywhere without mud. But there are bypass trails around the deep holes. The only time I've seen mud on the main loop that you couldn't avoid was after they had over six inches of rain in a week.
If you want to ride through the week, just call ahead and they'll be sure to accomodate you. The cabins are super NICE!!!

I'll let the king snakes slide but I kill all poisonous ones I see. They would kill me or my kids if they get the chance. Around here we mainly have Copperheads and Timber Rattlers. I'm more scared of the Copperheads, they blend in really well with the leaves and don't warn you when you're close.

OK. This wasn't me but it is a true story. I had a great uncle who would get drunk once a year (his birthday), but otherwise didn't drink or at least didn't get drunk. He would drive around his house and hit mailboxes, fences, etc. but no one around there said anything because when he sobered up he would fix everything. This was way before my time, but my Dad and Aunts/Uncles remember it. One day after a lot of rain, he drove his car into a ditch and got it stuck, he went home and came back and got his pickup stuck. He walked home and got his big truck to pull it out and got it stuck. He got his tractor, and got it stuck. All in the same ditch one in front of the next. All FOUR vehicles. He then went and got his mule and one by one pulled out his automobiles! My Dad is not the kind to exxagerate and he cracks up telling about it.
The worst I've ever been stuck was in a garden. I got my Grandpa's Ford 4610 tractor stuck and then when he came to pull me out he got his Deutz front loader stuck. We finally got them out with a Ford Jubilee tractor.

Thanks. I just ordered him some new riding duds from Dennis Kirk. Can't beat their closeout prices - $50 for a pair of thor phase pants and two phase jerseys. He has had that quad since before he was three and still loves it.

I'm not even in FL so maybe I don't count, but someone linked to this site and I thought it looked cool so I registered. I grew up coon, deer, and squirrel huntin, can you add a place for those as well? Just kidding. I did grow up hunting a lot, but I visit a hunting site to discuss that. Just in case any of ya'll hunt/fish come on by www.woodystaxidermy.com and go to forums in the middle of the screen.

If you will go to www.atvnation.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7406 it will list GA riding areas. Public at top and private at bottom. You will have to click on the private ones to see where they are. These are listed by the GA ATV Riders Assn. (Possum Patrol) so all of the places listed are ATV friendly. You can also go to www.atvpathfinder.com and click "United States" then scroll down to Georgia and it will list all of them. They are also listed on GA Offroad. www.georgiaoffroad.com but that is a dirtbike site and a lot of them seem snobby towards atv riders. They have a lot of info on the places to ride though. Wish I could help you more but I'm on the opposite end of GA.

I haven't. I rode at Broad River a few weeks ago and met some guys with the Possum Patrol (GA ATV Riders Assn.) They are a good bunch of people to ride with. I live so far north that I can be in three other states faster than I can get to Atlanta so Phenix City is a long haul for me. Maybe three and a half hours speeding the whole way. What exactly is Dirty Dog's Park? Is it in GA because I haven't heard of it?

As long as ya'll are going that far, I suggest going on up to Broad River for a day or so. It's a new place and is getting better all the time. They already have better than sixty miles of trails and lots, lots, lots of mud. Got bypass trails around the mud as well. They don't have mx tracks yet, but the food is great. They are only open on weekends and holidays right now. They cook out if there are enough people there. The only time I've been when they didn't cook, they ordered out pizza. They've got new cabins that sleep six for $75/night. Best of all, they love quads. That's why they opened, and they'll treat you great! If anyone tries them out let me know how you liked it. I think before long they'll be the best place to ride a four wheeler in GA. Once they get the mx tracks that is.

In my opinion yes. I haven't been to d'town since their owner went off on a rant about quads a while back on one of their forums. See for yourself here http://www.georgiaoffroad.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11258&highlight=atv+impact Once Broad River gets their tracks built, they'll be the best in the state in my opinion. The trails at Broad River are already better than I remember d'town being. But I haven't been there since last year. I've spoken to people in the Georgia ATV Riders Assn. and the ones I've spoken with feel the same. The owners of Broad River welcome quads and you'll never hear them complain about ATVs or their riders. Their hospitality can't be beat. Remember they are just starting out, so as far as comparing their accomodations to a place that has been open for so long is not really fair. They will make you feel like family though and are working hard. I'll find out more about the camping there. Sorry I just don't know. I live about an hour and a half away and would rather just drive down there, being that close. BTW, Broad River is not far from d'town.

I'm not sure how far along they are on the campsites. I think they are ready for people to camp in tents, I'm not sure about campers. They have cabins that sleep six for $75/night. The cabins have screened front porches and pic-nic tables out front as well as a place for a camp fire. If their website is back up, it will give you more info.
