When the new year starts,  Florida Trail Riders will have plenty of events scheduled for Quads at both ends of the State.

Jan 7th     Hare Scrambles#5      Palatka
Jan 14th   Quad Scrambles#3     Holopaw (Kissimee)
Jan  21st   Hare Scrambles#6     Okeechobee

Feb 4th    Quad Scrambles#4      Clewiston
Feb 11th   Hare Scrambles#7      Clewiston
Feb 25th   Hare Scrambles#8      Gainsville (Gatorback)

As you can see, there are plenty of races to show off your talents.

All the information you need to attend these races is available at:

floridatrailriders.org

These are well organized events lasting 1.5  hours for the Hare Scrambles and 2 hours for the Quad Scrambles. If you haven't tried this, you are missing the fun.
As we get squeezed out of our riding spots, FTR will be one of the only venues left to ride our Bikes and Quads. Join now and get the jump on everyone else.

Any questions you may have, we will answer here.

See you there

5  General / Racing Scene / Re: HS at Mayo, FL on: October 18, 2005, 10:12:26 PM
Teej,
I copied and pasted this quote below from the FTR Forum. Maybe this will help. When he talks about "Arrows", he means that "Flouresent Orange Arrows" on cards will be stapled to polls, mailboxes, sticks or anything they can find to attach them to, showing all the Riders where to turn to get to the track. They are placed in the same way as they are used to mark the race track. Arrows facing up mean go straight, arrows to the right indicate a right turn is coming and the same with lefts. Once you see the 1st arrow then it will lead you to the track.

We have flyers that have been sent out and distributed to many Motorcycle/ATV dealers throughout Fl. But we can use all the publicity we can get. You can print all the flyers you want from this websight.
http://www.floridatrailriders.org/Quad_Information.pdf

The following is a Quote from the FTR forum

"The map on the flyer has the wrong road number. CR25 should be CR250. Arrows have been placed at both ends of CR250. Hopefully no one will get lost. The property is actually on CR251, which runs between CR250 and US27. GPS coordinates are N 30 13.1317  W 83 15.7147."

Thank you for your interest and willingness to help, hope this helps,
Terry

Teej,
All your questions are answered on the web site
www.floridatrailriders.org.
Click on Schedules then click on the particular race you are looking for and it will bring up a map to the exact location.
These tracks we race on are not established tracks. They are on a farmers property out in the middle of nowhere and are not accessable to the public.
Everyone that is interested in raceing FTR needs to read the rules and welcome guide located at the FTR site I listed above.
7  General / Racing Scene / Re: Florida Trail Riders "NEW" Hare Scrambles Quad Series on: October 13, 2005, 09:35:51 AM
OK Everyone, the time is near. Next weekend is the first race of the new "FTR Quad Series"in Pinetta (Madison). You can make history by racing in this series. Let's all get out there and have a "GREAT TIME".

8  General / Racing Scene / Re: Florida Trail Riders "NEW" Hare Scrambles Quad Series on: September 15, 2005, 03:53:42 PM
Pat,
All quads run on Saturday for 1-1/2 hrs. at 3:30pm. Each class lines up on a different line and are let go in one minute increments. Fastest riders go first, slowest go last. In theory, no class would catch the class in front of them.
When the FTR "Quad Scrambles" start, then some quads race on Saturday and some on Sunday. For the Hare Scrambles this next weekend, we are done at 5:00pm and then we have Saturday night to party and BS, and then Sunday to drive home.

Florida Trail Riders first Hare Scrambles is being held on September 24 and 25 in Holopaw Florida, (near Kissimmee). You can sign up at the race, but be sure to have your correct color number plates on your ATV. You will be assigned a number that you can add to the plates the day of the race. This is the regular Hare scrambles series that has run for a number of years. The "NEW" Quad Series has not started yet.
Any information you need is on the floridatrailriders.org website or ask question here and we will answer your questions.
10  General / Racing Scene / Re: C vs Beginner Class? on: September 13, 2005, 01:32:42 PM
Pat,
I would race "C" for a couple of reasons, you can allways go up in class, but you can never go back down. If you do well in "C" and decide to go to "B" you will take 90% of your points with you. We have a saying in FTR ,"no matter how fast you think you are, you're not". We have all learned this through the years. You will be too good for begginer.
Willis,
Remember, we know that track and Carey is an ANIMAL.
11  General / Racing Scene / Re: Florida Trail Riders "NEW" Hare Scrambles Quad Series on: August 15, 2005, 09:07:07 PM
I just want to remind everyone that the Florida Trail Riders "Hare Scrambles" first event is September 10th and 11th in Bunnell, Fl. This is for Quads and Bikes. The Quads still race on Saturday with some bike classes, and on Sunday ,it's the bikes only. This is a different series than the FTR "Quad Series", which is what this thread is about and hasn't started yet. The race in Bunnell is the regular Hare Scrambles that has competed for years.
So, if you are READY TO RACE, then get ready for HS#1. SEE YOU THERE!!!!!!!!!!
12  General / Tech Corner / Re: kfx 400 knocking on: July 27, 2005, 12:55:24 PM
There is an old but sure way to determine where and what the sound is. Take a long screwdriver, and with the engine running, put the butt end of the screwdriver up to your ear. Put the metal end of the screwdriver against the head and listen for the tick. Then put it on the crankcase and listen. If it is a ticking noise in the head, it is most likely the valve adjustment. If it is a knocking sound from the crankcase area, then it is your crank bearings.
Hope this helps.

13  General / Tech Corner / Re: z400 sputtering problem.. on: July 25, 2005, 08:08:28 PM
There is a hole in the left side of your cylinder that drains the water from around the spark plug. If that is clogged then the Z will misfire because water is trapped around the spark plug. Take high pressure air to it if you have access, or take a small wire and run it  into the hole and see if water runs out. Clean your spark plug cap when done. Don't pull the plug until you clean out the drain or else the water will run into the combustion chamber.
Try it
