General / Where to Ride? / Re: Riders in Brevard

I went out this weekend to all the places I would expect to see police activity. NONE were seen all weekend long by any of the people I ran into out in the woods or along the side of the main roads. Who knows what is really going on...

Just a quick update. I went to Pine Street, Arica Palm, Grissom Pkwy and Fay Lake Park after work today (1-13) and NO police. Ran into a kid on a dirt bike at Pine Street. Kid says he was out there since 9AM and helped an undercover police truck pull a fire truck out of the dirt.
IF I see anything - I'll let you know.

Targeting the drunks, litter-bugs, fire-bugs, fence cutters, etc is all well and good. I applaud thier efforts. What I do not care for is the fact that in all the years I've been back in those woods, most of the times it is the local Canavarel Groves folks that are the problem. The other day the wife and I drove around CG and noticed that the majority of the households have ATV's or trucks for out in the woods. MOST of the people riding ATV's on the roads are "gangs" of local kids. Most of the idiots in the center clearing area are kids drinking beer from their parents house. Lets call a spade a spade and not start some witch hunt. I also know you can go to the black hole and find piles of beer cans and used rubbers all over the place. I'm all for a good time - but come on! It needs to be cleaned up (in more ways than one). We have to respect others property and not be stupid about it.
Hope to see you guys out there soon.

Hey Team_Quad, Please keep me posted as well. I live by the park at the end of Fay in PSJ and use either Pine Street or the access off Areica Palms for access to the groves. After reading the Happenings I am really starting to get more than a little PO. I would really like to put something together for all of the responsible riders in the area. I know there are too many idiots out there that are spoiling it for all of us.
Any interest?

I got a notice two weeks ago from Kaw about this. In the notice it states they will start notifing people when the parts come in should you opt for the recall. I guess it's better than a sharp stick in the eye...

I saw in the paper that the sheriffs will be at Grissom and Pine St this Friday night (1-13). I intend to be there to find out just WTF the rules are and not some persons interpretation of the rules. I'll let you know what I find out.

The wife and I were out there Saturday and Sunday (9-17 & 18). Saturday morning it was pretty quiet, but Sunday the place was paced. Met some great people out there (we usually ride in Canaveral Groves) who let us in on some of the local secrets. Again, nice folks - pretty much family or an older group of riders. Excellant riding for all skill levels and desires. Some mud, some sand, some great trails to just kick back and relax on. Don't park on the dairy queen property of risk getting towed or ticketed. Looking forward to next weekend. This place rocks!

General / Product and Services Reviews / Re: Were getting ripped off for F*** GAS!!

Ripped off is a term that I don't think I'd use. Are we paying more than WE think is fair - yes! Are we paying more for existing gasoline based on a news report or a ship leaking- yes! Will the cost of a gallon of gas ever go down - NO! A lot of the world has been paying considerably more per gallon than we ever have. Case in point - right now it is $1.50 per liter in Germany. That is $6.00 per gallon US. Granted this isn't Germany - but we are not entitled to cheap gasoline just because we are born in the US. It is long past time for us to move towards other reliable means of fueling our needs and toys! Just my two cents worth...

I got a set for Father's Day and love them. I put them on our '05 Brute Force. Went with 27 inchers all around. they pull great! Heavier than the stock tire and wheel combo but worth every $$$$$.
