It’s been a long time since I’ve had a quad or any off-road rides. Moved just outside of Knoxville Tennessee about two years ago. I have a daughter due in April. Really miss the old days of getting groups together at Croom. It’s grown up so much in that area when I was passing through a few months ago. Thanks Mr Bones for keeping this site up and creating it way back when. Anyone wants to add me on Facebook I’ll be under “Freds Newaccount”

If you're going riding somewhere like croom or ocala, or any mx track you should post up. Someone is bound to be lurking as well. Talk about it when you go out riding.. funny how I've met people on the trail who were members of this site.

This to me, makes me wonder if the talk of new places opening up (FT&T) that we have so many lurkers... Problem is, this site has been...err...dead for a year. I don't think much of this content has changed in the last year.. We should change that.
I've met 3 good friends who live in various parts of the state and this website brought us together. New users, sign up! Voice your opinion or share a group ride you're planning!!

5 MX tracks... Follow their page on Facebook. They are constantly posting updates. This is actually making me consider getting back into the sport of ATV/MX since its been 10 years when collier county "set out" to find us some land to ride on... They killed the sport here.. I'm not a minor anymore, so why risk getting a fine... Can't wait for this place to open.. Ill probably show up just to watch since it'll be so close!

Suspension loading/unloading is probably the easiest way to explain it. This is what I think happens.. You hit an elevation change, suspension loads up, you overcome the change, the suspension unloads and pushes (rebounds) back into the terrain, spinning tires throw sand up and back.. Not too sure.

If you're able to grab the sides with some alternative lifestyle cutters, grab hold and twist. Usually works best vertical.

I bet those 26miles would be long enough for you to crack a smile, knowing youre out on your quad with your buddies. Looking back at them, and your best bud gives you the thumbs up to open the throttle a little.
At $30, I'd drive to Madison to ride...oh wait, I have!

I once had them ship me a set of wheels, one wheel was for a Yamaha (the bike I ordered for) and the other was for a Honda. I had to send them back 2 times and they made me pay for return shipping each time. I even called them the second time to have them take a caliper out to measure before they shipped it to me. Over night shipping wasnt an option on their end, so I ended up missing some races because of this. I'll still use them because the prices are hard to beat.

I use eBay to reference parts prices. I usually get some good deals on things like OEM oil filters and things I can buy in bulk. Look out for a lot of too good to be true deals. Chains are an item that are either a hit or miss thing. Other than that, I love it. Online shopping is so easy and to me, takes out the middle man behind a parts counter. I guess the fall back is that it hurts local shops who are owned by hard working people.

take the top of the cam cover off.. watch the intake valves open, close, then watch the exhaust open, then close, then have a tiny screw driver or coffee stirrer and stick it in the hole where the spark plug is. when it reaches its top and starts pushing out then starts to fall back, look to see if your marks are lining up.

General / Open Discussion / Re: Thinking of going to L-Cross for trails (is it flooded out there)

Its a harescramble trail used from an old track. The course is rough in some places, you can haul in others but you have to watch out for ditches. I would have rode it more if the track wasn't so flooded. I almost got stuck 3 times so I started to head to the entrance and with the trail not marked too well it was hard to tell where I needed to head so I wouldn't hit oncoming. Found an emergency lane and just took it straight to the front.
I guess I should point out I haven't been riding in over 6 months and on a mx track for over two years, so I was just really glad to be there.
