1  General / Open Discussion / Re: self-revalving/nitro question/theory on: January 10, 2009, 01:09:00 AM
The compression has been set to the highest stiff setting for some time now, and the shocks don't have the rebound adjustments. Wouldn't stiffening the springs, and a non-adjustable rebound cause a very nasty pounding on whoops and bumps?

Logically, yes, because your making the spring rates stiffer without adjusting the pre-set rebound setting... Hence making the overall stiffness of the shock stiffer while the rebound remains at the same level for the softer set springs which were dialed in by ELKA.. idk if that makes too much sense, I was just trying to make it sound clear, but I believe I have the idea and Klutch you sound about right, physically thinking it makes sense. BTW what do you mean by your "compression" setting has been maxed for a while; are you getting mixed up with the pre-load adjustment..? Compression and rebound adjustments which are found usually on reservoired shocks cannot be set to their highest setting due to the needle bearings inside of the shock, you'll blow them out essentially.. This could potentially be your problem Klutch.
2  General / Open Discussion / Re: Starter Shotgun Question.. on: January 06, 2009, 09:27:12 PM
I'm 19 years old, turning 20 in a month, and I have shot a couple of my friends guns that go hunting in the S.T.A.'s and up north... I want it primarily for Hog/Duck seasons thats why I say licenses and permits.. Yea I can definitely pass a background check too..

4x4 - That would be cool, but rather impractical for my application..
3  General / Open Discussion / Starter Shotgun Question.. on: January 06, 2009, 06:53:57 PM
I'm looking into buying my first gun, I know I need to get all my licenses and permits and what not but can't really decide on a gun to buy. Im looking for a quality, reliable gun on a budget.. The only one I had in mind was the Remington 870 12 Gauge. I am looking to buy a shotgun as of now, maybe some rifle action when I get a bit older and can afford one.. If anyone can chime in with some advice or direction that'd be great!
4  General / Open Discussion / Re: Funny/sad but true on: December 26, 2008, 01:12:40 PM
It's a plethora of problems.. The american car manufactures are building cheaper quality, worse performing vehicles for a steeper price... It is simple common sense.. But for some odd reason the domestic car manufacturers marketing and pricing teams are too idiotic to realize this!
5  General / Open Discussion / Re: Switching from Castor to Synthetic on: December 26, 2008, 01:08:03 PM
If your switching to a synthetic it'll probably have a much fowler and unpleasant odor then the castor blend oil... What brand do you run.? Maxima 927 is what I ran in my Blaster when I used to have it.. Great stuff and it smelled good at that.. Getting at your question though I'd say clean the carburetor to prevent any cross-contamination and flush the tank with some sort of degreasing/cleaning petroleum based solvent and allow it to dry if you do the switch.

When I was there they told me beginning last monday the 15th that they would begin to lock the front gate after sunset... Some peace of mind at night. They also put up new fences all around the campsite..... Seems like they are actually doing something with the immense profit they make from that place a year!

Here's some pics from the weekend.... Front pit was bone dry and full of careless riders so me and my buddy strayed from there and found ourselves in the hills and north trails a majority of the weekend, nonetheless the riding was perfect as it had just rained on that thursday and it turned out to be a good weekend overall.

Front Pit..

8  General / Open Discussion / Re: I'm back w/ a new (to me) raptor on: December 15, 2008, 11:17:15 PM
Nice bike man and a hell of a deal.... In all honesty though take the spacers off immediately before you do any riding, you will only end up hurting the bike... Trust me I've had experience. One wrong landing off a jump and your wheel will be all junked up! If your front wheels are flipped also i'd suggest flipping them back to reduce bump steer... All of this will reduce handling characteristics but will make you better off......
9  General / Open Discussion / Re: *******kfx 400 vs. 400 ex******** who will winn???! on: December 15, 2008, 11:13:06 PM
While I do agree that some people may have a little too much faith and brand loyalty when it comes to Honda, The 400ex's are not bad bikes by any means.. Before the Z and raptor blah blah 450..etc it was the bike to have for a number of reasons: It is simple and reliable, amd the frame geometry is great and although it may be somewhat outdated it is due to the fact that the components are the same since the initial design.. If you did the same exact modifications to an EX then to a Z they would be practically identical in performance and handling... Its all a placebo type of effect for the newer bike i.e. it feels faster because it feels newer... Keep an open mind on this topic and stop pulling the Honda reliability card and Z whatever card... Z/KFX/DVX is simply a newer, better bike but by no means leaps and bounds ahead of the EX! Its a riders race.

EX (2x.x is stock)-
http://ctracing.com/trx400ex1.htm

Z/KFX (2x.x is stock)-
http://ctracing.com/z400_kfx4001.htm

Chevy, I know what you mean, however the power curves are relatively similar throughout the rpm range. I know a Z/KFX will take the win, and that it is a better, newer, more technologically advanced bike, i'm just stating the fact that they are both 400cc machines (well maybe minus a couple cc's to be correct) with similar power output.. Drag racing, is mostly all power and rider skill so if one of the riders mis-shifts or launches crappy, i'd say the other would take it..
11  General / Open Discussion / Re: *******kfx 400 vs. 400 ex******** who will winn???! on: December 09, 2008, 09:35:30 PM
Z/KFX....If there is no rider error.. Its really not that big of a difference, one mistake and the EX will take it. The Z only has one horsepower more stock to stock, the suspension and frame geometry + newer and liquid cooled is what puts the Z/KFX on top.. I really wouldn't say its as big of a difference as you guys make it seem like in a straight line drag, any other situation and you have a different story for the Z.. Just my .02

14  General / Open Discussion / Re: Chipotle... on: November 24, 2008, 10:55:13 PM
nope i am the leader  if people follow me thats cool if they dont thats evan better.   u can ask jrpro i done many of things alone because i went agianst the group and did not follow what they wanted i dont follow anyone but my heart and i do what i do to make me happy. and i truly like the staek at moes better than chippole

Well then that settles it, isn't individualism great..
15  General / Open Discussion / Re: Chipotle... on: November 24, 2008, 09:24:05 PM
you all are brain washed    just like the rest of the world.    Wink

they told you obama was gonna be good and fresh now u all picked him and we got worry bout our future.

if some one tells u jump  say what for, not how high i promis you will make it better in life

This is where you are at fault my friend. I pick Chipotle over Moe's simply because the food quality is much higher and it tastes sooo much better. I did not choose Obama, and yes I did notice the bandwagon effect taking place. You know whats very funny, Moe's has that bandwagon effect, I go to college in Orlando (Student body pop. is 75,000+) and trust me when I say this moe's is a follow-the-leader kind of place.  I am definitely not the kind of person to take sides for the fact of the matter. I truly believe Chipotle is the better of the two. So much more effort is put in on Chipotle's part, moe's just kinda seems to get bye because a bunch of young kids at the highschool say "lets go to moe's" no joke I have heard this in person many times.... It worked for obama, it works for moe's its just basic marketing skill (it's called hearsay).. Notice how Chipotle doesn't have any drastic promotions to bring in customers like Moe's does?? Its because the people who go to Chipotle do so on a regular basis.. Touche 4X4, for you are the sheep in the herd.
16  General / Open Discussion / Re: Chipotle... on: November 24, 2008, 08:42:47 PM
moes is GARBAGE, you can't even compete...IMO it's not competition...

Probably the most accurate, to the point answer on this forum in a week..... Well when I go I get Double meat half carnitas and half steak and guacamole... It's just worth it to me.
17  General / Open Discussion / Re: Chipotle... on: November 24, 2008, 08:34:16 PM
i get steak from moes and i do not poo

Well thats because Moe's steak is probably genetically engineered dog meat.... hahaha.. Seriously you guys have no idea how many times I have argued chipotle over moe's.... Moe's is and always will be garbage, and you know why, just like jrpro said there stuff isn't fresh, and you can taste it! I'd rather pay $10 for a burrito I will thoroughly enjoy and know what is going into my body than spend $5 on an somewhat-upscale taco-bell. Just my .02..
18  General / Open Discussion / Re: Chipotle... on: November 24, 2008, 10:15:15 AM
yeah i am!  in fact it is burrito monday, me and serveral people in my office go every monday

it is owned my mcdonalds....conspiracy

I hope your not referring to Moe's mondays..... That place is horrible, but if you made a "chipotle monday" thats awesome..
As for the whole Mcdonalds thing, they were contracted initially to get chipotle going basically fronting money to expand and then chipotle dropped mcdonalds and is a private company now, just owing mcdonalds the moneys borrowed... That's basically the gist of it, maybe jrpro130 can fill us in a little more..?
19  General / Open Discussion / Re: HEY GUYS HAVE A ? FOR U GUYS on: November 23, 2008, 11:00:55 PM
dont race out front of 5A man thats how the cops come and it will get shut down if people keep doing this. everytime i see people racing out front the cops show up. yeah its fun i got a raptor i would love to do it too but its not the place for it. its also pretty dangerous you got the on and off ramps for I95 right there
yea

Bruteforce750, take this as constructive criticism, don't just blow it off and when something terrible happens you'll be like, oh sh*t. Like JohnF said too, drag-racing on the road there is what gets the cops out there and this is the closest place for me to go and ride. Myself and many others would be upset if it was closed down because of careless riders... Hmmmm, Holeylands ring a bell..?

i now u guys always trying to start something so w/e i now cops will come that's y i said yea so if u got something bad to say don't say because u guys think you own every body on this forum

You're really going to resort to common stereotypes? Come on, im not trying to be out of line here just stating the obvious, yet easily avoidable on your part.
20  General / Open Discussion / Re: Chipotle... on: November 23, 2008, 10:36:40 PM
Yes, I worked there for a year and a half as a service manager...so I'm addicted.  I like the new store by ikea 136th and 595 Smiley, and I opened the weston one on griffin and weston rd, and the coral springs one...and I worked at boca and boynton (they had me all over the place..."fixing problems" they call it)

Haha, no way, I live in west davie off of 14th street and 136th so the ikea and weston rd. are both like 2-3 miles away... I kinda strayed from the weston road one once the ikea one opened they are much better, weston is starting to skimp on the food and service majorly!!

Is any body severely addicted to Chipotle (The Burrito Place) like I am..?

Just curious because it seems like a lot of people are becoming this way, at least around me.

Dude that "concrete" road out at 5A is covered in sand, so that explains why a big 3 ++ raptor would lose, he didn't get sh*t for traction.. Stock banshee's are rather sluggish but they wake up A LOT when a little work is done, and the kfx400, I hope your son beat that. I have a pipped, jetted and pro-flo intake (big 3) raptor 660, I have raced two of my good buddies Trx450's with wins both time on my part. One was an '05 with LRD exhaust, jetted and filtered and I smoked him by about 4-5 lengths on tarmac. The second TRX I raced was an '06 electric start model with yoshi full exhaust, jets and filter and I was about 2 1/2 - 3 lengths on him by the finish in the dirt... How light is your son? That 700 should have raped your TRX but hey good for your son that he beat him. I hope he was wearing a helmet, and I know people really hate it when there are people racing up and down the main entrance road so be careful out there. BTW I weigh 235 and both the Trx's I raced had 160 (#1) and 150(#2) pound riders.

Haha, I posted this video in the video section about two weeks ago..... I guess no one goes over there, sick driver though.

Edit: I got really confused cause when I went to go check to see if it was still on the first page it wasn't and realized I posted this video over on the raptorforum....
