Chris, thats fine with me. you can park your truck in my yard instead of the ditch if you like. The ditches have water in them right now. Ride all you want. My wife and I might get out there with you to show you some of the trails. Larry

I was wondering if anyone wanted to come ride my place this weekend? Its hard to find anyone around Live Oak that wants to go riding on the weekends so I thought this forum might be a good place to put together a weekend party. If you are an out of towner, you are welcome too. My wife and I have 32 acres of some of the best dry, wet, and swampy trails here in north Florida. The scenery is very prehistoric with a lot of cypress trees, ferns and a flowing creek that everyone seems to get stuck in. Its not 300 acres but is big enough to spend the day havin fun pullin yer buddies out of the mud. We were gonna cook some steaks down by the creek so you wont have to bring a lunch. Just bring your coolers full of drinks. To enjoy our trails to the fullest extent, you should bring your 4x4 atv or have some really good grips on the back of the 2 wheel drive. We plan on riding Saturday and maybe Sunday. I have attached a few pics of our place. Let me know if you'd like to come ride with us. Larry.

The skeeters are perty bad come summertime but the chiggers are even worse. Its natural beauty makes you forget everything else.

My friends here in Lake City are saying it needs super swampers when towing the bikes. Whatdaya think?

 I don't have a 5th wheel.
I need to get busy and install the hitch on it soon.

I just brought home a reese hitch for my money maker. Now we can ride and tow our bikes in comfort to our favorite riding place. Only problem is that the car seats ten people and my 16' trailer will only hold 4 atv's. Huh
This photo was taken at the Suwannee River.

Here are a few pictures of my wetland just west of Lake City. you wont make it very far on a 2 wheel drive. I didn't want to get my camera dirty down where the real gumbo swamp is but these pictures give you an idea. This creek is flowing high now. Suwannee Valley has some great riding places.

Here is a link to the Suwannee River Managements web page about the end of Alapaha river riding. Suwannee River management wrote this new law.

Paul,  my place is a freakin swamp now. I am afraid to cross that creek now. it rose about 3' since you were out there. The trails I had are now deep mud or covered in water. Come check it out. You may need that snorkel afterall. I am off work till 2nd week of January. lets go.
Kurt, you should come too. You dont know what your missin. its not your average loop trail through the back yard.
16  General / Tech Corner / Re: Worth putting on a snorkel? on: December 17, 2005, 09:03:29 AM
Paul, I think you should go with the winch too. that would save you from unwinding that yellow strap everytime you get stuck in my ruts. LOL
17  General / Where to Ride? / Inglis mud bog open to atvs on: December 15, 2005, 08:11:33 AM
I was just looking at the Horse Hole mud bog website www.mudup.com and they have opened up the park to atvs. They are located on rt 19 in Inglis, Fl.  It was trucks only before. They give cash prises to the winners. check it out. I may have to try and get to one of their next events.
18  General / Tech Corner / Re: Front Brakes On Honda Rincon & Rancher on: December 11, 2005, 09:38:35 PM
Paul, I had a great time riding with you and Matt today. I was thinking about your brake problem. Since the bike is not that old, then I suspect your master cylinder would not be the problem. If your brake shoes have worn down they may need adjusted tighter. you have to squeeze the lever several times because the shoes have too far to travel before they hit the drum. everytime you squeeze the brake lever, the shoes close a little farther until they reach the drum.
Does anyone out there now if my theory is correct?
My brakes seem to work this way on my old ford truck. all I do is adjust the shoes a little closer to the drum and I have great pedal again.

Send some pics of your trails you ride on your land in wellborn.
I would love see them.

AmericanHighlander now you talking! Forget about the price of land in Florida. Lets enjoy the trails out there and talk about the sport we all come to this website for. I was looking at your recent posts and about 150 out of your 200 posts have been about the cost of land in Florida.

I will take some good pictures of my trails this weekend and post them here for everyone to see.

The recent rain here in the Suwanne River Valley has made some wet trails at my place so I will be looking forward to pulling some of you out of the mud this saturday.

I live right off 137 on US 27. I am guessing that we are about 25 minutes from you. We would love to come out and meet you some time. Maybe after the holidays. Our weekends are too busy right now and I am still looking for an ATV for our daughter. Me my wife and son already have quads.
Keep us in mind? Do you live in Welborn now or are you just up here for a weekend getting ready to build?

Thanks, Teej
We live in Wellborn now and are renting a mobile home till we get a place built. Larry

25  General / Group Rides & Events / Come ride my place in Wellborn Saturday on: December 02, 2005, 11:16:06 AM
If anyone would like to come out and meet some new friends, my wife and I are going to be riding at our property in Wellborn Saturday Dec 3rd. I have about 33 acres with alot of trails along the creek and through it that we can ride. There is alot of mud there so bring the utility quads. we will be cookin on the grill for lunch. We'll supply the steaks and chicken breasts, you bring canned veggies if you'd like.

Here are the directions.
Going west on rt 90 from Lake City you will go exactly 9 miles from I-75 overpass to Route 137 and turn right go 2 miles and turn left at the recycle center onto Hogan rd. go about 3 miles and turn left onto 104th terrace. (It will be the 1st paved road you come to on left).
go 1/4 mile down 104th terr and turn right into the 1st dirt driveway. I have alot of new sprouting green rye grass in the yard. There is no house there yet. just drive down the dirt drive to the end. we should be there all day.  Hope to see you.
 Larry
