I haven't been there in over a year.. is it still whooped out? Since the gas prices are so high how is the bike/quad count? Still high or did it drop off a little?

Looks like it went lean but why did it crack the bottom of the piston? Usually I see the edges of the top of the piston go or a small hole in the piston but it appears there was sideload on the piston. (without looking at your "L" shaped rod)  Wink  -Mark

Its just like the oil industry. Convince me other wise.... read these

With showing record profits and insurance companies paying less on claims it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that they are gouging homeowners. IF the increases were legit I'm sure that the ins companies and their lobbyist would put up more of a fight than the votes of 40-0 in the Senate and 116-2 in the House to pass a bill to stop the anal raping.   -Mark

Something to think about..... when you pay 3k a year for insurance on your 300K home,
and 5 years down the road Katrina comes along and whips out you home.. you paid 15k of coverage and are getting 285K back on your investment...not a  bad deal....  Now it doesn't take a genius to figure out the insurance company just took a huge loss.. Now imagine that on a 1000 homes..

I know every one says "I have no claims why are my rates going up?"
Just like the sign in Walmart reads "we have security cameras to keep our prices low"
Insurance companies are just like other businesses they make up their losses across the board.
Believe it or not, Insurance companies loose money on premiums alone, most put money into the stock market to make money in order to payout clams...This is why State Farm raised their rates so much after the stock market crashed after 9/11.

Also, this deal where they are trying to push out insurance companies that don't do Homeowners but due auto, is going to jack up auto rates... There are very few who do both Auto and H/O, and the ones that do just auto are "usually" cheaper. Now if the auto only companies leave that will create a monopoly type effect on the companies that do both since they will have the market cornered...

dang! made my head hurt! Grin

While I do agree with your post the only thing that I can't seem to fathem is that what happend to all the money they collected prior to 3 years ago? I know we had 2 bad seasons but last season we had zero. So why are they still trying to mark up 50-70%? I can understand inflation of maybe 10% even 15% but Jesus Christ 50+%? Come on. That is just plain robbing home owners. I don't care how you look at it. I think the insurance companies saw the record profits the petroleum industry made in the last 2-3 yrs and decided to jump on the badwagon. F*&^ers. I swear it makes me sometimes wanna leave this F'n state.  -Mark
7  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Problems with the Trails? on: January 22, 2007, 01:00:29 PM
I went to ONF last weekend and I found out on numerous occasions that when I would head down a legal trail it would end up in an area that is illegal to ride in. Sorry don't have any GPS coordinates. Any the only way I found out it was illegal is when I saw the signs posted once I was there for a few minutes. I think that the rangers can't mark all the trails but just get the ones that they think will get traveled on the most.  -Mark

If Rex doesn't have his head up his arse then bears should win. Putting up 38 points on the board when your QB's rating was under 50% ain't too shabby! The score should have been higher.  Go Bears!  -Mark

the 250r is soo nice

Ya when we all raced it surprised the hec out of me. It beat me one race. Albeit I blew the launch but once we both got a good launch it was only a bike or two behind me. Not bad for having 1/2 the size in cc. All 3 bikes have motor work done to them.  -Mark

i went to start mine and i thought i broke my foot Angry. i had to put a motorcross boot on and it still hurt like hell. this thing loves to kick back.
i cant wait until chris tries to kick it. i going to laugh my a$$ off Shocked

You think that is bad? Try kicking a single 524cc cylinder with 170psi. I sprained my ankle (down for 3 weeks) using tennis shoes when it kicked back one time. Now I have a thin piece of steel in the sole of my boots when I ride. But its the greatest built in alarm system ever!  Grin People ask if they can ride it and I say sure if you can start it.

Granted I don't turn the rpms that you guys do but I did use 93 octane with 170psi and it ran fine. I use 100 now cause I changed pipes and increased rpms. Just for the safety factor.

535- You mentioned that in drag racing use low compression. Speaking from a automotive perspective all the high rpm N/A motors use high compression. I can understand the reason for low compression in relation to less resistance in generating rpms but would it affect the rpm capability that much to make a difference? Just curious. Thanks. -Mark

11  General / Tech Corner / Re: Lets talk shocks...... racers input appreciated and everyone else too on: January 18, 2007, 12:52:25 PM
Cool Thanks for the advice. It sounds like I might get Works for the bang for buck factor. I think it will be 10x better then my current shocks.

12  General / Tech Corner / Re: Lets talk shocks...... racers input appreciated and everyone else too on: January 18, 2007, 11:45:22 AM
Are all the spring rates the same and they just adjust the damper based on rider weight? And do all of them generally have the same amount of travel. I just recently read that Works are not good. But why? Oh and should I look for ones with or without resevours?  -Mark
13  General / Tech Corner / Lets talk shocks...... racers input appreciated and everyone else too on: January 18, 2007, 10:52:37 AM
Well I think I'm gonna finally bite the bullet and ditch my stock 17yr old shocks and get with the program. After 2 days of riding in ONF and 3 days later I can still feel some uncomfort in my lower back. Either that or I'm getting old.  Wink So what would be a good shock for the average joe that rides trails, pits, and is forced to go over whoops  Sad Elka's, Works, etc? What would be the best and which is the best bang for buck. Again my land yacht is not a MX'r so keep that in mind. Anything is better than what is on there now. Thanks for the input. -Mark

15  General / Photo Gallery & Videos / My 2 stroke posse on: January 15, 2007, 01:22:12 PM
When I go riding its usually with 2 strokes. An occasional 450 sometimes. But I took these pics before we started riding...hence the cleanliness.  Cheesy

Skully/Quad32x- I went to ONF. I was pissed on how they blocked off all the good trails. But the farther I got from Big Scrub the trails had less whoops and had longer straightaways. I finally was able to go WOT on the zilla....... Holy crap! It had to of been close to 100mph.

Define pump gas. 93, 100, or C16?  Wink I don't have a shee but I run only 100 at its bought at the gas station. I can get 110 but not feasable for what type of riding I do.  But I do have a ridding buddy that has 19cc domes, +4 key, CPI IF's, and your average port job and runs 93. It runs pretty good.  But I gotta agree with who said go to PS rather than BansheeHQ. PS has some serious shees on there. -Mark

I guess if our president did nothing but have sex with an intern, then there would be nothing to complain about but since we have a president that does things while he is in office then nothing is ever right. I hope like hell that if Hillary Clinton gets in office (and I hope she doesn't) that all she does is see how many interns that she can have sex with just to pay Bill Clinton back for his escapades.

Now it seems that everybody can complain but noone can answer my question. Every soldier that is in the military VOLUNTEERED, so why should we even have a military if we do not protect our country by using them. Look at the money our country could save then. We just would not have our FREEDOM.

Thanks to all the soldiers out there, past, present and future for our freedom.

Yunt- Honestly, is that how you judge a president by what/who he does behind closed doors with some chick regardless how he leads a nation? If that is the case then what are your thoughts on JFK? He was boning Marylin Monroe but yet argumentally he was the greatest president this county has had to date?
FDR'w wife (Eleanor) was a lesbian. Do you think that affected FDR when he was president? He created Social Security and supported Churchill defeat the Nazi's AND a dem.  OMG. That's impossible.  Wink

I could care less if our president has sex with sheep... although weird as long as he does a good job leading our nation thats all I care about. Do u? -Mark

19  General / Open Discussion / Re: 2-Stroke 250 dirtbike? on: January 12, 2007, 01:17:12 PM
No, old school 2 stroke bikes will do over 80mph. If the oil is milky you can fix it yourself for less than 50$. Just have to buy a few seals. Mostly the water pump seal goes bad and coolant is getting into the crankcase. To check the top end just kick it slowly to feel the compression on the up and downstroke. Depending on how long its been since the last overbore chances are it would need one. Compress the forks as much as possible then visibly check if the forks have any oil on them. If not then, the shocks are good. Be careful, even though its a 2 stroke, 250's have some low end and once the powerband hits you better hold on.  -Mark

What size motor? My friend has one with a 21 in it and it friggin flies!!! He did the glue thing on the tires and it still kept spinning on them. Those things have so much power that the parts break too easy.  How long does a tank of gas last? -Mark

That's an 86 right? I'm judging by the rims. Looks like one of the hubs needs some new bearings.  -Mark
22  General / Open Discussion / Re: BUSH on: January 09, 2007, 09:18:36 AM
I hope you feel the same way when a Democrat is in office (most likely in 09), I have a feeling you will be the ones complaining about the president then.  I like GW as a person he seems to be a nice guy but as a president he sucks.  He will go down as one of the worse in the last 100 yrs along with Jimmy Carter.

YOU AGAIN!!! jk havent heard much from you....until now Wink I just want someone with some b@lls that will not give in to terrorist. He or She can be a whatever party and I will back them, as the leader of our country they deserve our support. I am sure it is a very tough job, and even tougher to sent young people to thier death to protect the many inocent that would die without that stand. I would not want that resposability.

FYI.... Regan traded arms with terriorist back in the 80's.   -Mark

I'm actually going to go to ONF in 2 weekends. But the 2 times I went there, I went to big scrub. And it was cool but I've heard of better places. I'll be there for 2 days.  Thanks. -Mark
