1  General / Open Discussion / Re: STAND UP AMERICA this is BS!!~!! on: May 14, 2006, 09:56:38 AM
Do you guys honetly believe that these mexican immigrants don't WORK??  I own a business with over 20 mexican/central american employee's and these guys are the hardest working individuals there are.  If I hire a white or a black man to do this type of work, they will only put in 40 hours, will not do the harder types of labor, and either have a drinking or a drug problem and don't show up half the time.

All these mexicans want to do is WORK and not have to worry about "la migra".  For example, my dads foreman, and best friend of 14 years, speaks fluent english.  He has two kids that are citizens.  he's a home owner, owns his own restaurant in addition to working for my dad, and has paid taxes for FIFTEEN YEARS without ONE tax return!!  He has never been arrested, or gotten as much as a speeding ticket.

INS and Homeland Security arrested him a few months ago because he tried to get a passport to fly to Mexico to take his young kids to see their grandparents before they died.  The grandfather died a few weeks later and they never got to see them.

This guy is a better citizen than most of us.  He's tried so many times to get citizenship through lawyers and what not and all they do is take the money and tell him to go f**k himself.  What's he going to do? he can't sue them.  So he dealt with it.  He's spent almost $10,000 to get citizenship and he has nothing to show for it.

All these guys want to do is work Monday-Saturday and drink beer Saturday night and Sunday day.  Thats all.  If they could pay taxes, they would.  They don't mind.  They ask to borrow money and pay us back the next week.  They show up everyday.  The break their backs for $9 an hour.  So say what you want about this situation but DON'T say something as IGNORANT as "They should WORK for their citizenship".

What the government needs to do is grant citizenship to the 12 million immigrants in the country IF they are willing to learn english.  Then, if they slip up ONCE, they're deported.  After this, they need a WALL ON THE BORDER, NATIONAL GUARD ON THE BORDER, and they need to cave in the tunnels they've dug from tijuana to LA.

3  General / Open Discussion / Re: Suggested punishment for bike thieves... on: May 10, 2006, 10:21:57 PM
you have to think what the punishment would be ,had the bike not been recoverd.you would be out 5-8thou .whats that worth in punishment.I say 3 years probation and 650 hrs community service.value the hours at 10$ each and they could experiance about the amount of money loss you would have had the bike not been recoverd.6500$$ Angry

I LOVE that idea!!!! thats a GREAT point that I can make to teh judge in my letter!!!!  so here's what i'm going to recommend so far:

3 years probation
650 CS hours cleaning our riding areas (holey lands)
and no license until they're 21.

I'll be sure to mention that they were doing 90+ mph on a public road with people traveling and a heavy object in the bed of their truck.  I'll also mention they tried to flagrantly run me over a 50+ mph because i tried to block the roadway.
4  General / Open Discussion / Re: Truck Decissions on: May 09, 2006, 08:48:31 PM
if you love a diesel, get a diesel.  You won't get a newer body style 7.3 or 6.0 for less than 14,000, especially if its 4x4 and diesel.

I would go with, like you said, a 92-96.  The 250s come with a dana 44 and the 350s come with a great dana 60.  You won't break axles so much with the 60 and you can run some pretty monster tires and lift it pretty cheap.  12" for around $1200 and a set of 40's or 44's would run fine iwth that truck in the mud.  Gear it down a little bit.  Make sure you have some streeet tires though cuz 40s or 44s get pricey to run around on teh road all day!

6  General / Open Discussion / Suggested punishment for bike thieves... on: May 09, 2006, 08:41:07 PM
Ok, Im starting a new post with this because I need input from everyone and not just people who bear with it and read through 2 pages to get to the gist of everything, so here I go:

well, today i got the paper from the courthouse stating that they know the juvenille's were arrested and asked what i thought would be a fair punishment and if any harm was done to me or my bike.  I'm going to recommend that they serve 3 years probation, 100hrs of community service picking up trash at the HoleyLands, and a 6 month suspension on their license for almost running my friend over.

Please read the story about how they stole the bike and the chase and all and then let me know what you're punishment suggestions would be.  Keep in mind, they ARE under 18 so jailtime is out of hte question  Angry

i don't think they're in any jail.  it pisses me off.

and no, there is no action against me for throwing the club.  The detective asked me if i threw it and i told him "Ya, i felt like my life was in danger because they were driving right at me so I did what I could to defend myself and get out of the way"  I also told them they tried to run over my friend and he said teh state might seek charges for vehicular manslaughter (attempted).  The detective told me i could have shot them if i wanted to and been ok.
9  General / Open Discussion / Re: GOD LOVES ME!! BIKE THIEVES ARRESTED!!!!!!!!!! on: May 02, 2006, 08:53:53 PM
The bike is chained to a tree now and blocked in by bobcat front end attachments lol

The bad news is this: the kids were only 17 and had a clean record, so all they'll get is a slap on teh wrist and a class they'll have to attend.  No jail time, no nothing.

f**k our justice system.  I wish we would have gotten them outta the truck before the cops got there, and no, i wouldn't be tellin the "EXACT" story had they gotten out before the cops arrived hehe Smiley
10  General / Open Discussion / GOD LOVES ME!! BIKE THIEVES ARRESTED!!!!!!!!!! on: May 01, 2006, 05:52:02 PM
ok. so i've decided god loves me!!  Here's why:

As some of you know, my four-wheeler was stolen about 3 months ago from my house in davie.  I did recover it and after that kept it at a private residence in SW Ranches with my whole family living on one street.  Never would expect a problem.

So sunday, i'm supposed to go out on my boat.  I went to pick up my trailer with my friend because we were taking it out of the dry-dock marina it was at.  We decided to stop at the Tom Thumb gas station on Griffin and Weston Rd in SW Ranches.

As we're making a U-Turn to turn into the station, i see an older F-150 driving by with what looks like my (still) slightly damaged four-wheeler in it.  I told my buddy "dude, that really reallly looks like my bike!"  Then he told me he didnt' remember seeing it behind my mud truck at our house.  I Said "dude, we gotta follow him!!!!!!"  He was already headed west on Griffin Rd towards 27.  We pulled out onto dykes, RAN THE RED LIGHT to turn onto griffin (safely of course...no cars comin) and started to follow him about 6 cars back.  Keep in mind, we're in a brand new f-350 dually with a bully dog stage 2 chip BUT we're pullin a 32' triple axle boat trailer (no boat).

So we follow them down to US 27 and Holiday Park.  I told my buddy "anyone wiht a fourwheeler knows NOT to ride in holiday...i think they're goin to hide it there"  Then out of now where, they pull over on the side of the road and i confirmed it was my bike.  We tried to block the road so they coudln't go back towards 27 and they realized who we were.  They took off down in the swale and drove through a bunch of weeds and sh*t to get around us.  I jumped out of the truck and ran around to get the tag off the kids truck.  I then called 911 with the tags and to alert them of their direction, etc.  My buddy (a 6'0 former marine) tried to pull the driver out of the truck.  His two buddies held the driver in the truck and they sped away almost running my friend over.  They turned right on 27 towards pines blvd since the light to cross the highway was red.

We pulled a U-turn as quick as we could in our dually wiht the trailer and drove way down into the median (praying it was dry) to pursue them.  Now, he's driving and im on the phone with 911 telling them where they're heading.

when we turned onto 27, i realized that they were turning left onto Stirling road.  I told BSO that road only exits to 196th as stirling rd is a dead end.  When they passed the 196th turn, i decided to try and block stirling rd with the truck and trailer.  They went all the way to the end and then realizing it was a dead end, pulled a quick u turn and went speeding back towards us.  Fortunately, at that cul de sac sat a man drinking coffee and reading the paper.  He also happened to be an off duty pines police officer.  He grabbed his radio and got in his patrol car thinking something was up with kids speeding down the raod like that.

As the kids were heading towards me, the cop was not yet on the road so we didn't know he was coming.  they were doing about 40 or 50 towards us.  Now, I had assumed that they would have to stop and a 3 on 2 conflict would ensue, so I grabbed a Club (for the steering wheel) and pulled ti apart and gave my friend the other half.  When the truck refused to slow, they drove up on the berm and went flying around us, almost running me and my friend over.  We both took our club and threw it as hard as we could at the truck, busting their front end and puttin a hole in teh windshield and cuttin one of the passengers.

The Pines cop turned the corner and nabbed the kids.  They're in custody and i have my bike back.

I didn't even know my bike was stolen!! they took it saturday night and i hadn't been home from then till that day.  The ODDS of me seeing my bike driving down the road and spotting it just overwhelm me.  IMagine.  Slim to none man....slim to none.
11  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: JASON ALDEAN in CONCERT L-CROSS EXTREME APRIL 21st-23rd EVENT on: April 05, 2006, 04:38:53 PM
Is this mainly a 4X4 riding area? From the pics i have seen it looks like alot of mud ....Is there any dry places to ride a sport quad ?

people bring sport bikes but there is no dry riding...no place to open up since all the dry land is 5mph, which they NEED to enforce better after what i saw during hte mardi Gras weekend!  I watched two kids on a banshee fly around me while i was driivng to my camp in my truck and as soon as they cut in front of me, THEY (doing about 30-40mph) drove right into the front of a pickup that I let turn in front of me to get to his camp.  Unfortunately hte driver of the truck was probably faulted but it was TOTALLy the kids on the bike's fault.  I gave the officers my name as an eye witness, so i don't know what ever happened but one of hte kids on the banshee broke his leg.

so ya, not much place for sport bikes unless you like gettin muddy as hell and stuck Smiley

14  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: DAVID A. COE CONCERT @L-CROSS ROLL CALL on: March 19, 2006, 09:42:18 PM
Looking forward to Jason Aldean!!! Hes an awesome performer!

Now, as for the bottlenecking, I think you're being a little generous in claiming those openings are 20ft wide...  They may very well be 20 ft wide, but the road can't be more than 12.  There is no possible way that two cars can get through the gate where the little canal, levee, and then two mud pits are (The pits on the left and right and the levee part is the "road")  I can remember a truck coming through that opening and there barely being enough room for a dirt bike to pass him.

And 20' isn't that much considering some buggies are coming through with tires that stick out a good 3 ft on each side of the frame!  I mean, my truck with 44x18.5" swampers is a tight squeeze, and trying to drive a trailer with a truck on it on that narrow bridge/levee is nerve wracking!!

I have great faith that you guys will get this taken care of...not worried, just wanted to let ya'll know so that you can take care of it!!!

See ya April 1st for the adult weekend!!!
15  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: DAVID A. COE CONCERT @L-CROSS ROLL CALL on: March 19, 2006, 07:26:41 PM
i'm with wilburz...

the driving situations SUCKED.  Could have been run ALOT better.  It seemed like they let one side run through for an hour and then let the other side drive through.  Definetly need to widen the gates to and fro camp.  I would have left my truck out in the mud if my friend didn't get his fuel pump, fuel cell and demon carb stolen last time he left it out there.

Other than that, i had a graet time!! Sunday was the best...died down quite a bit and we were able to just cruise teh mud.

Suggestion: For those WITHOUT toys, don't come in the back.  Make them park out in the front somewhere before the gates or something.  This allows people with toys to get to and fro a little better.

Hey highlander: english isn't your primary language is it?  Its like pulling teeth to read what you're writing...I get it though.

Problem is no one can get close enough to Castro to blow him up.  He has EVERY move he makes carefully planned out and protected.  You think he doesn't know that everyone wants to kill him?? Of course he does!

Chavez is a girl thingy.  He and his little Venezuelan army can't do sh*t.  They won't even make it over here.  A couple of Cruise missles and their whole military is gone.

Every major oil company in america is ultimately owned or directly affected by a country that we're not too friendly with.  I believe that Sunoco and 76 are some of the only American owned oil companies, am I correct??
17  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: Any dry/fast riding going on near Broward, Saturday? on: March 09, 2006, 01:32:38 PM

So ya, the truck got fixed today...we put new motor mounts/tranny mount, got specs for a new drive shaft and rewired some necessities...life is good Smiley
19  General / Open Discussion / Re: !!!~~~Which Mid Size ATV?~~~!!! on: March 07, 2006, 11:52:24 PM
A 450 that would not turn it's tires? Must have some mechanical problems.

actually the bike is fairly new...like less than 2 months old and the girl that owns it told me she's gonna jet it simply because it doesn't spin the tires in the mud.  It makes sense.  Hondas are notorious for being underpowered.  My Buddy has the new foreman 500 and it has the same sized carb as my 400 eiger and he can't keep up with me in a race.

Bombardier doesn't have enough of a name or reputation yet for me to buy one, so i'd stick with suzuki.  The Vinson gets awesome reviews, so maybe give it a shot? i love my eiger...
20  General / Open Discussion / Re: !!!~~~Which Mid Size ATV?~~~!!! on: March 06, 2006, 08:00:29 PM
I rode my friends Honda 450 with 589s this weekend and I also rode my suzuki eiger with 589s right after it.

I got both bikes stuck at MS&G and let me tell you: the honda didn't even have enough power to spin the tires in the mud once i got stuck!! After seeing that, I ran my eiger through teh SAME EXACT HOLE immediately afterwards...I went about 4 feet further and once I got stuck, I was still able to spin the tires.  The Honda has no balls.

The Eiger has more power, is faster, has more low end, and all around is my choice for mid sized bikes.
21  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: MARCH 3rd, 4th & 5th ADULT WEEKEND "MUDDY GRA'S" on: March 06, 2006, 05:38:32 PM
ha, that was you all with the megaphone??? I was the big ford across the way taht broke down saturday night.  Turns out the 4wd was in neutral and thats why the truck wouldn't shift.  Still couldn't get my front driveshaft to fit wtih a blown tranny mount (transfer case fell a few inches) so I ended up not muddin the truck at all but my lil eiger did well Smiley  only got stuck once and i wasn't even drivin it.
22  General / Open Discussion / Re: anyone willing to do a little landscaping work? on: February 25, 2006, 10:27:10 PM
Yeah, my grandmother had a sago palm just a hair bigger than yours and before she moved houses she had someone offer her $700 and they would come pull it out. While she lived there some guy would come by and pay her to take the little seeds out of it. I think he payed like $25 per seed.

thats gettin carried away.  That sago there is about $125-$200 wholesale.  Can't plant them down here anymore because of that scales disease that they get.  You rarely see them anymore in south florida.
23  General / Open Discussion / Re: anyone willing to do a little landscaping work? on: February 25, 2006, 03:42:38 PM
quite a bit of that stuff is salvageable and expensive!! Sago's are a dead species down here (scales wiped em out) but they're nice plants and can be sold for a nice price if its a good size.

that is a lot of work...I did a job similar to that today (front and back yard) and got $1100 for the whole job, including  removal of some carolina jasmine vine (BIG work)

good luck...i think im too far to help ya out.
24  General / Open Discussion / Re: I know FWC reads this site from time to time, so here it goes... on: February 24, 2006, 08:26:51 PM

From what I've heard though I would never ride there with my sport bike because it sounds boring. It sounds like a place for my Rhino.

u proved my point.

and to the guy who said ban utes from the track:  AMEN!!  we dont belong there!!!  thats YOUR spot!!  no place for a big 4x4.

There areb;t any 'trails' at the holey lands,,,so stop playing the trail card,

ive gotten NUMEROUS PMs about this topic...ALL in my defense,,,so ummmmm quit being afraid and speak up!

most the people responding are sport riders who are biased.  i understand this as i would probably be the same way, but fact is fact abd sports don't belong out there.
25  General / Open Discussion / Re: I know FWC reads this site from time to time, so here it goes... on: February 24, 2006, 07:31:28 AM
First of all, comparing four-wheelers to sports cars/trucks is absurd.  Cars have regulations, much stricter enforcement, and much harsher ramifications and requirements to be on the road.  Each car as to pass DOT inspections and requirements to qualify to be on the road.  Cars are a means of TRANSPORTATION, not RECREATION.  That comparison is totally irrelevant.

As for the discrimination:  It isn't.  Why are three-wheelers not allowed at just about every mud bog?? Thats discrimination!!  Why though?  Because they are UNSAFE in those conditions.  Same for sport quads out at the holeylands.  The only legitimate place for them to ride is used by everyone to load/unload bikes and travel to and from riding locations.

Sure we need to stick together on CERTAIN issues, but obviously the sport quad community could give two shits about us, otherwise they wouldn't be disrespecting one of our last legal spots and acting like complete bozo's out there.

And it just about EVERY SINGLE SPORT QUAD rider out there.  There are exceptions but they are extremely limited.  You can cry foul and say you are an exception until you're blue in the face but guess what? I can bet money that I'll see you out there hot-doggin in your little pocket rocket in a few weeks when all this accident crap is buried and forgotten about.

I'm still waiting for someone to tell me WHY SPORT QUADS ride the holey lands. I've ridden with a few out there before and they actually tried to go swamp with their bikes.  I ended up draggin one back home (the whole way) and the other time I had to ride behind the guy the whole way because he kept getting stuck.

Seminole is almost the same distance from anywhere in broward or miami dade...go ride there instead of the holey lands.
