1  General / Open Discussion / Re: ATV purchase advice on: May 14, 2014, 02:37:04 PM
http://www.motorsportssuperstore.com/ is where I found the best price on a Can am when I was looking. I would of bought from them if the local dealer wouldn't of matched the price.

If nothing else you can get their OTD price and then see how it compares to what you've found so far. Like already mentioned you have to add in the sales tax to register it in Florida. If you're buying out of state and paying cash and don't care about riding it on public land then that will save you a few bucks..
2  General / Open Discussion / Re: Can-am owners. Did you buy local? on: May 13, 2014, 09:18:17 PM
All and all I am very happy with the purchase. I still don't have 10 hours on it though. Trying to keep it clean until I do the first service. All the rides around here are centered around mud, So i haven't been going on any of them yet. I just been riding it around the property checking fences and making sure the cows are all good..

The guy doing all the paper work did take forever. He kept walking out of his office and talking to people instead of doing his job. We delt with 3 people. The salesman Nick which was great, Then some guy that just had me sign a few papers and tried to sell me all the extra crap, But had no idea Can am was doing the extra 30 month warranty promotion, When I mentioned it he said they don't do that in Florida. Which is false. And then the last guy who was the super slow guy with A.D.D. that couldn't stay in his office to do all the final paper work.

If it weren't for the price I would of walked out as well, We were there 3 hours or so. I would go back just on price alone.

When I bought my stuff from Camden Motorsports it was a very nice and fast experience. I made the deal on my Busa over the phone and they had it all ready when I got there. I was in that place 20 minutes tops. When I bought my Suzuki atv I didn't plan on buying one that day but after seeing the price I decided to and even that one only took 45 minutes or so.

I know this is old but I forgot all about it. Here is my buying experience.

I ended up buying a Magnesium 2014 Outlander 1000xt but I actually found the best deal here in Florida at Ride Now Ocala. I had the deal worked out in Alabama and a buddy told me to give them a call just to see what they said. I called and asked the OTD price and they came back 13K OTD. I told the guy thanks for his time but I found it for 10,900 OTD in Alabama. He said let him talk to the owner, Then he came back and said they would do it for 10,800 OTD. I went there and decided to get it but noticed a small scratch on the fender. They took another 250 off for that. So I ended up getting it for 10,550 OTD.

Not sure if they normally sell for such good prices, But I was pretty happy with the deal. May be worth a call if you're close to them and looking for something they sell.. I delt with a guy named Nick.

I agree 100%

This is my first Can-am and I have talked to at least 10 dealerships from Florida to California and every one so far have been total jerks. I told them what I wanted and just wanted a rough price. I'm very busy and will not spend all day at a dealer just to get pissed and leave because they try to jerk me around.

The last 2 new ones a atv and motorcycle were bought from Camden Motorsports in Ga, They went out of business though. Both deals were made on the phone and I just went in to pick it up. When I picked up my Busa I was there maybe 30 minutes. Long enough to sign a few papers pay for it load it up and leave. I did my research and they had the best deal around. No one is that way anymore. You would think on a $12K+ atv they would want to have a new customer.

I've talked to a few dealerships that do not sell Can-am and so far have had no issues getting prices on other atv's. I wanted a Can-am but honestly may end up with something else. The issues i'm having just trying to buy one might be telling me something. Plus I'm just going to use it for hunting and around our property. I'm not a deep mud and wader kind of guy. I just like having more power then I need..

is the wooded area in these video's dry?    are there any dry trail areas in those woods?
I know this is old but to answer your question yes there are plenty of dry trails. It's a fun place..
6  General / Open Discussion / Can-am owners. Did you buy local? on: March 31, 2014, 06:28:40 PM
I'm thinking about buying a new Outlander and all the dealers I've found so far suck at returning emails or giving prices over the phone. I can order one from out of state for way less after all fees and tax then I've found in Fl so far. I would rather buy local so if I have issues I can get them taken care of easier..

If you have bought something lately what type of pricing have you found?

Any theft issues lately? a Buddy and I are planning on heading to Croom in the next few weeks and will be camping. Just curious if we need to bring extra security with us Wink

9  General / Open Discussion / Re: Grizzly 700 Help please on: April 18, 2013, 02:14:56 PM
Buddy of mine left his key on and it killed the battery, after charging it his did the same thing. After researching and talking to the yamaha dealership they told him if you let the battery completely die on the 700's it messes up the cluster. He had to buy a new cluster to get rid of the flashing E. It ran fine just the blinking bothered him so he spent the money.. No clue why they would design it that way but it seems common on them..

Hopefully his will be something different.....

I'm out.  Been busy at work and haven't been able to put any miles on the new belt to break it in.
11  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: ready to ride on: March 03, 2013, 05:26:27 PM
Where you thinking?

If I get my new belt on in time to break it in before Saturday I was planning on riding somewhere to try out my new tires.
12  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: like to go to osceola on: March 01, 2013, 07:17:14 PM
A buddy of mine rides his sport there all the time. He said it can get very wet at times, but mostly it's high speed stuff and trails.
13  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: Weekend ride Mar 2-3? on: March 01, 2013, 07:14:17 PM
xchief, you really should check out shindler sometime, its pretty good riding and its in JAX.
I would like too but all my riding buddies have sports so unless i tag along with others i would be by myself.

Also Sandbox is flooded bad so no riding there for a while...
14  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: Weekend ride Mar 2-3? on: March 01, 2013, 02:53:25 AM

15  General / Open Discussion / Re: Wow that’s what I call fast shipping. on: February 27, 2013, 08:01:12 PM
Did you order them online or on the phone?
I tried to call them and was put on hold for over 20 minutes. Maybe they were super busy I might try to call them again tomorrow and see what they can do for me.
16  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: like to go to osceola on: February 23, 2013, 10:34:08 AM
I've been to Osceola years ago on a sport quad and it sucked since we had no clue where the good stuff was. Is their some fun places to ride there? Or is it all roads?
17  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: Hastings or ONF 2/23? on: February 22, 2013, 08:36:18 PM
Hastings has plenty for everyone. It's also called 10,000 acres, So it's pretty big.
It has trails, high speed roads, mud, water, small hills,ect.. But if you're coming from Tampa I'm not sure it will be worth it right now. It's pretty dry and dusty out there as of last week.
18  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: 5a or osceola ride on: February 18, 2013, 09:35:38 AM
A buddy and I were out there Saturday but didn't take any pics or video.

Anyone know if they ever found the guy that wrecked his truck?  We looked everywhere we rode and never seen anything.
19  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: 5a or osceola ride on: February 15, 2013, 06:48:44 PM
xchief, what kind of bike do you have and where in Jax are you?  I was just wondering because you mentioned rollers but you have a sport quad as your avatar.

I had a sport but got rid of it and now I have a Arctic cat 500. I got it to use around the property but of course i can't leave it alone.
The clutch work woke it up pretty well though. Still heavy and slow, But more fun then the sport was...
20  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: 5a or osceola ride on: February 14, 2013, 08:05:27 AM
Doubt I go that far this weekend. If I don't end up at Camp Blanding i'll probably just hit Hastings. I did some clutch work to my bike and still have to play with the roller weights to get the upshift where I want it.  Have fun though..
21  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: 5a or osceola ride on: February 13, 2013, 09:15:10 PM
How far is 5a from Jax? Camp Blanding is having a open ride Saturday but not sure if I want to go to that or ride somewhere else.
22  General / Where to Ride? / Re: New Park - Fat Daddy's? on: February 10, 2013, 11:17:48 PM
Fat daddy's is the same as Sandbox. New owners and new name. Way better then before. the guy that owns it actually cares about the place and wants to make it better. Well worth the ride to get there..
23  General / Where to Ride? / Re: SAND BOX FOUND IN SO GA!!! on: September 06, 2012, 01:38:00 AM
Sandbox is now called Fat Daddy's ATV park.   http://fatdaddysatvpark.com/?page_id=2
Still the same price and they are making it better. 3 Wheelers not allowed now.
Some guys went last weekend and said it's really muddy right now from all the rain.
24  General / Where to Ride? / Re: SAND BOX FOUND IN SO GA!!! on: January 07, 2012, 10:22:56 PM
A buddy and I rode Sandbox today. The place is still a great place to ride. They have made a few changes like better parking, 4 high pressure hoses to wash your atvs as well as a outside shower to wash the mud off yourself. Also they have a person living on the property now, and were putting up a gate at the entrance today.

No pics, forgot my gopro. Creek is low, we crossed it on our sport atv's. But there was plenty of mud in some of the trails.
25  General / Open Discussion / Re: BAD EXPERIENCE AT THE HARDROCK IN OCALA, FL.... on: October 23, 2011, 01:55:22 PM
I've had issues with the dad in the past as well, Never seen the son. But I won't be back either. They shut down the Rollercoaster to atvs/bikes. To me that was the best part of the place. Not a track rider.
