Can you ship a firearm by UPS or USPS or does it have to be sent from one gun shop to another and then picked up? Thanks
3  General / Open Discussion / off road in Gatlinburg Tn on: January 07, 2010, 12:57:32 PM
I'm going to be in Gatlinburg for a week in Feb. I have never been. I was thinking about doing some trails and anything else I should do while I'm there. Renting atv's or maybe even a Jeep or Hummer. If anybody has done this please give me some input. Thanks
4  General / Open Discussion / Re: New ATV Law?????????? on: December 29, 2009, 08:21:57 PM
We have property in the middle of 2000 acers of state land near the panhandle. This land is not designated as a state atv park, but it is a wildlife preserve that allows atv use. My son is 9 years old and rides a Honda 300 ex, this the 3rd atv he has had since he was 5. As a parent, when my son is not afraid of his bike anymore he either has to move up or stop riding. When you think you have complete control of what your on thats when you get hurt. Everytime my son and I ride we usually see a officer from Florida game and wildlife or the Dixie County Sheriff. They have said to me that where we are riding that they are not going to enforce this law that they are just happy that my son is wearing a helmet, boots and every other piece of safety equipment that I can buy. But also keep in mind that you can also still ride your atv right up to the gas pump at the store to put gas in it as well.

7  General / Open Discussion / Re: anyone ever plug or patch a sidewall small cut... on: April 29, 2009, 07:43:04 PM
Once you push the plug in the tire, leave some of the plug sticking out and light it with a lighter and let it burn almost to the tire and then put out the flame. It will let the plug melt to the tire and the spot where it goes though the tire.
8  General / Open Discussion / Re: Sand blasting question ? on: March 28, 2009, 07:41:15 PM
Thanks for all the info. I'm lucky and not having to deal with real bad rust, just some surface stuff here and there but mostly stripping the old coat of paint and some of the old primer in places. My compressor is rated 2 cfm lower than what the blaster calls for, so I have to let the compressor catch up a lot but other than that it is going well, thanks
9  General / Open Discussion / Sand blasting question ? on: March 26, 2009, 08:05:28 PM
My question is when blasting with a compressor and small pressure tank, do you have to use a special blasting sand or can you use builders sand or leveling sand, sand box sand? What's the best and cheapest way to go and where to you get it from? Thanks
10  General / Open Discussion / Re: Our soldier is home... on: April 21, 2008, 06:06:10 PM
Thank you to her and all who serve and have served.  We all get to see a very small part on TV and  newspapers of what these hero's go though to do there jobs. What we don't see a lot of is some of the conditions that they have to live in and the daily things that we take for granted that they have to do without, lot's of times it's little things like a certain food, drink, showers when we want them, to see friends & family when we want to, etc....  There are a lot of things we don't even think about that we take for granted that they are doing without because they volunteered to do this job for us and our loved ones. If you are in public and see a person of our armed services be sure to thank them, without them you might not have the freedom to be in public when you want to!!!  Many thanks

You do have to remember that this took place in Dixie County, they do things a little different, but it was effective

14  General / Open Discussion / Flame Throwers For ATV's on: April 19, 2008, 11:13:16 AM
I Have A Place Near Steinhatchee, On A Friday Not To Long Ago This Truck From A Private Lawn Service Pulls Up And A Guy Get's Out And Say's To Me That He Is Contracted With The Foresty Service To Do A Controlled Burn Around My Property And He Was Letting Me Know So If I See The Flames Or Smoke I Would Not Get Alarmed. I Told Him Thanks And No Problem. About 1/2 Hour Later 3 Or 4 Guys Come Around With Flame Throwers On 4 Wheelers And They Are Lighting Fire Lines In The Underbush From The ATV's To At Least 50 Feet Away And The 3 Or 4 Of Them Are Burning Around 100 Acers At A Time With 1 Guy Riding Around In A F-350 Tank Truck To Make Sure Nothing Crosses The Fire Line. In About 4 Hours The Must Have Burned 500 To 700 Acers. These Guys Where Good At What They Were Doing. Now I Have All The After Market ATV Catalogs " At Least 10 Or 12 Of Them " And I Have Not Seen The Flame Thrower Option. And Some People Think ATV'S Are Dangerous, Maybe It's Just The Options We Put On Them,

17  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Anybody heard of Tate's Hell and has anybody been there? on: April 01, 2008, 09:34:40 PM
I Have Been There. And Will Go Back Allthough It's 6 Hours From Me. You Need A Div Of Forestry Sticker - The Same One You Have To Have At Croom - , IT'S a Fairly Large Area, Not A Lot Of People, No Hills Or Elevation Changes That I Have Found, They Really Don't Have A Lot Of Trails It's More Fire Roads And Limerock Dirt Roads, You Can Get In A Fast Easy Ride In A Short Period Of Time, It's Nice For Kids Because There Is Not A Lot Of Challenges As Far As Whoops, Hills, Jumps Or Other People, I Have Ridden In Ocala, Osceola, Croom, Port Charlotte, Arcadia, Orlando Near Seaworld, And Steinhattche And I Have Never Seen As Much Wildlife -Size And Amount - As I Seen In Tates Hell, If You Go The Place To Stay Is Carrabelle Palms. If Need More Info Shoot Me A P.M. With Your Phone #, I Hope I Was Able To Help.

The 1st Thing That I Was Tought About The Woods And The 1st Thing I Tought My Son About The Woods Is "That If You Pack It Up To Take In The Woods Than Pack It Up To Take It Out Of The Woods"
22  General / Open Discussion / Re: Jena Fl - Near Steinhatchee on: February 12, 2008, 07:58:24 PM
I Googled The Area And It's All Dirt Roads But One And I Was Thinking There Might Be Trails Off Of The Dirt Roads. According To The Map You Can Ride Along The Gulf. My Cousin Has Property Right There But He Doesn't Ride So He Doesn't Know Alot About Trails And The Legal Stats. Of It
23  General / Open Discussion / Jena Fl - Near Steinhatchee on: February 12, 2008, 06:34:26 PM
I Have A Regulations Summary For Big Bend Wildlife Area, The Jena Unit, It Says That " No Motor Vehicle Shall Be Operated On Any Wildlife Management Area That Has Been Desigated As Closed To Vehicular Traffic. Motorcycles & ATVs May Be Operated On Roads Open To Other Motor Vehicles"

Has Anybody Ridden in This area, Thanks CEC
