That is reasonable.
2  General / Tech Corner / Re: What is out there for rethreading spindles? on: August 27, 2010, 08:56:47 AM
Thanks. What does a kit like that sell for?
3  General / Tech Corner / What is out there for rethreading spindles? on: May 26, 2010, 02:17:54 PM
I have some spindles that need some attention. I have a need for a rethreading kit that handles everything from a trailer to a D50 from end. I would also like to be able to do the spindles on my ATV’s. I have poked around a bit at some of the kits on the internet. But to be honest I am confused by what all I looked up. I do not know the sizes I require and without being able to compare the size of the tools in the photograph with what I need them for I have no way of know for sure what I am looking at. Can I please get some guidance on this subject matter?

I have one of those. It did not do me any good.
5  General / Tech Corner / I need help trouble shooting my master cylinder on: May 17, 2010, 08:37:06 PM
I just rebuilt and re-installed the front master cylinder and caliper on my 1999 Yamaha V-Star. However, it still does not work. I have rebuilt many master cylinders in the past and this is the first one to give me this kind of trouble. I am hoping I just over looked something simple and some on here might be able to point it out. The issue I am having is it still will not build pressure and has far as I can tell it is not sending fluid to the caliper. The front brake line is clean and the master cylinder seemed to work on a bench test. So any ideas?

Now I see. I was wondering if I was missinf something. Thanks.

Thanks. That is a cool site.
8  General / Open Discussion / Where can I get a master cylinder rebuilt kit for my 99 Yamaha? on: May 06, 2010, 02:48:29 PM
Unless I am looking in the wrong places or no one out there sells a rebuild kit for the master cylinder on my 99 V-Star. I have bought rebuild kits in the past for older bikes and ATV’s but nothing is showing up for this one. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I can when I have only so much to work with.
10  General / Open Discussion / Re: I need some help with my helmet hunt for my street bike. on: April 22, 2010, 12:34:36 PM
It is a HJC 1/2 helmet. I like the fact that is came with cold weather ear protection that zips on and off. But, when I got home and looked in the mirror with it on I realized it looked retarded in it. I did not know it was so much like a bubble. I wanted soemthing a little lower profile. But, for $25 it will get me buy until I can afford one I like better.
11  General / Open Discussion / Re: I need some help with my helmet hunt for my street bike. on: April 21, 2010, 08:47:16 PM
I lucked out. I just happen to find a good deal on Craigslist today for a new helmet. I even half way like it. So, now I just have to get the bike put back together and tagged here in GA and I am done.
12  General / Open Discussion / Where do you all get your carb parts? on: April 21, 2010, 11:15:59 AM
I have found that a little shopping around can get me significantly cheaper parts than what the dealership wants. However, I am having a hard time locating all the small parts I require. The jets are fairly easy and cheaper by $10 to $13 that the dealership. But I need other stuff as well like the main jet holder and the fuel bowl O-rings. I found a place on line that offers small parts for Mukini carbs, but they are not responding to my emails. I have an almost nonexistent budget to get this bike back on the road. So I HAVE to find the best prices. Where do you all get your small carb parts?

I was hoping for one that could fill both roles becuase I figured it would be cheaper. But the more helmets Ilook at the more wrong I feel.

I think I mis-spoke. I ride a criuser, not a crotch rocket. I used the term street bike because I am use to the ATV thing. So to me anything I ride on the hard road is a street bike.

Well, the great state of Georgia requires motorcycle riders to wear a damn helmet. That is the only thing I miss about living in Florida. I still had my right to chose for myself. Oh well, this is where we live for the moment so if I want to ride I have to comply. I am getting my bike back on the road and I need some help locating a helmet I can half way tolerate. I know more about motocross style helmets than anything. So I am starting from scratch with street bike stuff. I would like an open face helmet that does not look totally retarded. I saw one on a Hot Rod TV show a while back that I liked but I cannot remember what it was called. Are there any out there that can be open and closed faced? I am thinking for the winter time I would like a closed face that can be removed when it warms up. Shoot me some links and shower me with your knowledge. I need this figured out quick, fast, and in a hurry.

That is one of the many reason I want that bike. I did finally notice the difference in rims. I cannot beleive such an obvious differance escaped me for so long.

Becuase I want the LE model.
18  General / Open Discussion / Looking for a Yamaha R1 and have some questions. on: June 08, 2009, 03:24:08 AM
One of my goals before I return home is to purchase a 2006 R1 LE. However, I am facing several challenges. First, I have been out of the sport bike game for a long damn time. The second is I am trying to find one from over here in Iraq. So I have to go by what the advertisement dictates. One big problem I am running into is most of these sellers have no idea what they have. Some advertise their R1 as a limited edition when it is an anniversary edition and some advertise it as an anniversary edition when it is a limited edition. It gets me so frustrated that I stop looking for a while. Anyhoo, my question is when I am looking at these ads, what are some obvious tell tell signs I am looking at a true limited edition 2006 model? I want one of the 500 LE models made, not one of the anniversary models. They are very similar in appearance.

I am over qulified in other areas that they would like.

I pan to apply for the Airport Security Service Home Office Logistics Enhancement Section. I would do well at an agency like that.

Well, at least that means more jobs.
23  General / Tech Corner / Re: Blaster big bore kit? on: August 22, 2007, 08:14:12 AM
Don't make the mistake I did. I bought a pipe for a 200CC Blaster. I should have bought one for a 240CC Blaster. I did not realize they were different until after I did some resaerch.
24  General / Tech Corner / Re: Which of these Blaster suspension up-grades would you choose? on: August 21, 2007, 06:53:07 PM
How much were the Elkas? They told me the YFZ shocks along with the Blaster Banshee and so on would not work. It would appear that the shocks are what is going to end up being the problem.
25  General / Tech Corner / Re: Which of these Blaster suspension up-grades would you choose? on: August 21, 2007, 06:14:09 PM
My Blaster is more of a back up ride any way. That is the only reason I am considering that and not the A arms. Plus, I really do not want to buy the high dollar shocks I have to get to go slong with the after market A arms. I really do not want to drop a grand on this upgrade.
