2  General / Where to Ride? / Re: River Ranch (again) on: January 19, 2005, 01:58:15 PM
i agree river ranch is very dirtied up. people leave trucks and buggies and junk campers, muchless the amount of just junk and garbage out there. i buought a place and went maybe three or four times, just isn't good dnough for atv's IMO. too many buggies with no lights and no brakes and things of that sort. Sad

getting lost??? i love that place, i go about once a month, sometimes more. and yes there are lakes, and clearings, bears, deer, etc. the best riding i have seen is to north of crub, but a good ways west, and then the same again, north but a good ways to the east. best thing to do to avoid getting lost, is to find a trail, ride it back and forth a few times, then take it and take one of the turns, most of them will eventually bring you back to where you started if have at least some sort of sense of direction. it is a huge place, one guy i was with has a bike with an odometer/trip meter, we rode 72 miles, and that was only two trips, one in the morning and another in the afternoon. its always a great time. the further south you go the more horses you will find (and west too by doe lake) so stay to the north, you have more fun and safer too.  BILL

6  General / Open Discussion / Re: Great site!!! on: January 17, 2005, 02:25:40 PM
yea this is a cool site. only thing i see that i really do not like is the part where it said pics posted of riders with out helmets will be deleted. thats silly, and sort of "oneway". i am the first say that whereing a helmet is a good thing, and never "pick on" anyone that wheres one in anyway, but on the other hand, this is a free country, and just like in the motorcycle world (i have a harley too) shouldn't those who ride choose?? i sure feel that way, just my .02   BILL

well thats a fine dowdy doody!! i was supposed to go here this coming saturday.
i still ride in miramar off the 75/turnpike exchange, i know you ain't supposed to, but i have been riding there for years, got kicked out a bunch and a few tickets for traffic type things, but no major hassles. plus i park in the woods with the truck, not right there at the road like some many bozos do. lots of people ride off 27 out at holy lands too.
