deffantally check the vaulves, I heard the z400 motor has a crutial clearance and if they get to far out it will damage the vaulves! It is usally need soon after the initial break in, once everything is seteled in, after they are adjusted it will last longer till the next adjustment from what I have been told.

Just a new update for every one out there! I was at the track today and it is like so close to being done I could almost taste it!!!!! The entire lay out of the track is complete and there are only a few jumps that need some work done to them and the big track will be completed. they have not started the peewee track yet but plan to do so soon! The track stays dry like no other I have ever seen evan after 4 inches of ran we got a few weeks ago the track was ready to ride same day!! They are planing on starting the restroom facility here soon should be done within a month I would say!! Still a great fun place to ride. Track is a little rough so be carefull to the beginners! He does not have a tracter or loader out there to groom yet he is working on that and should have something soon! but still a great place!!
I will continue to keep you all informed!!

I am not to sure about the fmfs but I just reacantly purchased a full HMF system for mine and holly crap!!!!! it is awesome, I know for a fact it made this thing come alive, and side by side with complete stock bike I walked away well my room mate left me on mine and I was on his and we both have the same bike so it was not the rider Oh we both have dvxs but same thing. It is kind of loud but not to bad with the spark arrestor in. If you are interested more on this product I know a place were you can get it for about 450 for the complete system, with your choice of color, and also comes with the main jet you need for the carb, plus shiped to your door for that price. you might be able to find it cheaper I did not do a hole lot of pricing before I bought it.

There is a new track that has been under construction for the last 2 and a half months there website is www.powersportz.com and the place is called the dirt farm. As of right now they are only open on sat and sun but when the place is 100% they will be open more days! They have a building on sight were they sell every thing that you could think of and if they do not have it they will order it for you!! they are going to have a full consesion stand, bathrooms with showers, and they have a repair shop in the building also. This place is realy sweet the track is going to be geared to every one and is not going to be set up to tuff! as of last sat the track was probaly 60-75% complete. The oweners there are very nice and good people. So if you are looking for a nice facility for the hole family this is the place!! they are also going to have a 300 ft sand drag strip, mud bog pit, and a flat track all just for bikes and atvs!!! I will keep this thread up to date for any one who is interested!!

General / Tech Corner / Re: elkas or works
|
on: March 08, 2005, 08:26:21 AM

I have rode a quad with both elka tripple rate and works that I have on mine I think the main thing with the elkas are there marketing they get the word out much better, but works have been around for ever and worked for the pros back in the day and are still selling plenty of shocks I love mine and think that I am very glad that I didnt spend the extra money just for a name and I also think that it does not matter what you have none of them are invinseble and you can not always land perfect every time, if you land hard tottally wrong just once you could break something! but no matter what you decide on you should defantally make sure that you at least get tripple rate or better!!

Yes the dvx bike is great i own a 04 and they are the same as ltz, and kfx untill 05 yes o5 ltz, and kfx got piggy back shocks a cam mod, and an extra clutch plate but other than that from the test I seen all that it did was give the ltz a half a quad lenght- to one quad lenth faster at top speed. these bikes are the best bang for the buck out there right now a few minor mods and they realy will rip and roar!!! I seen a pic of the one that garyinseffner is selling and it looks very clean like show room! and for what he wants for that well lets just say that it is almost stealing it from him!! oh yea the seat is differant from the ltz, and kfx, and might be a bit more stiffer but other than that I personaly think that the plastic is much more universal and evan looks better
