I have two Polaris Scrambler four wheelers for sale
2002 Scrambler 400 4wd 2 stroke, $2100 OBO
2001 Scrambler 500 2wd 4 stroke, $1900 OBO
Both units were only run in ONF Big scrub, or Croom. We don't go camping anymore, so they are just sitting around taking up space.

Hello!
I have an 02 Scrambler 500. I am guilty of letting it sit, and was unable to get it started. My "friend" ripped it apart, but never put it back together.
I need to find someone that is familiar with theses units so that I can get it back usable again. We cleaned the carb, so the main thing that needs to be done is the fuel tank and lines hooked back up and all the plastics put back together.
Can anyone recommend a shop or mechanic?
I live in Valrico
Thanks!!

General / Tech Corner / HELP! Can't find these Brake Pads! YL-F021
|
on: October 15, 2011, 09:42:54 PM
|
So, I bought my 6 year old nephew a chinese four wheeler. I hope that was not a huge mistake!
It is missing one of the brake pads. The part number is YL-F021
Does anyone know where I can get these? I have gone to made-in-china.com, and the picture is there, you have to hit the "inquire" button, but nobody returns your inquiry.
Is there a cross reference to a USA manufacturer?
THANKS!
Charles

General / Open Discussion / Polaris Scrambler 500 No fuel problem
|

Hello,
I have a 2001 Polaris Scrambler 500 4wd, 4 stroke.
It has been sitting, and having a hard time getting it to run. I cleaned the carb, no more problemns there.
It is not getting fuel. If I hook the hose from the tank directly to the carb, no problems.
Do the fuel valves in the front near the radiator go bad? It has three lines on it, one from the tank, the other to the carb, where does the third line go?
I had the atv serviced a while back, (same prob, carb gummed up from sitting too long), and I am not sure they put it back together properly.
Anyone have the service manual?
Thanks!

General / Tech Corner / HELP, bent spindle?
|
on: February 05, 2006, 10:41:09 AM

I have a 2003 Polaris Scrambler 500. My friend was riding it and SLAMMED into a tree root coming in one of the trails at CROOM. The wheel became locked up so we had to hobble back to the trailer and come home.
I took the tire off and immediately saw that the rotor was crooked in the caliper and the brake pads were locked around the rotor. I took the brake caliper off to get the hub spinning, and it looks a little crooked.
I think that maybe the spindle is bent. Is this repairable? I took the cotter pin out, took the nut off, and can not get the hub off of the spindle to examine it. It should slide right off, right? It is more probable that the spindle is bent then the bearing damaged, correct?
SOMEONE TELL ME!

General / Tech Corner / 2 stroke HELP!
|
on: March 10, 2005, 06:12:59 PM
|
Hello,
I have a 2002 Polaris 400 2 stroke. I recently took it in for service, and it has been acting funky ever since.
It was running great, I took it in for a 20hr svc, got it back, and now it runs like crap. Fouled 2 plugs on me (never a problem b4), and won't hardly run.
I put a new air filter and plug in it, and it seems to be doing much better. BUT, now it doesn't seem to be using ANY oil. I ran a tank of gas through it, and the level looks unchanged in the oil tank. How can I tell if it is adjusted properly? I looked in the owners manual, and can find no indication of how many turns out the adjustment screw should be.
HELP!
The exhaust seems to be smoky still, so that means it is getting oil, right?
Is there a way I can make sure the injector is still working? I don't want to hurt the motor.
Thanks in Advance!

Hello!
I was talking to someone today, and heard of a place nearby or behind a Wal Mart in Mulberry that people take their quads.
Anyone know what I am talking about? Where is it at? What do you think of it?
Thanks!

Wow! A neighborhood? Geeze! Can you imagine how much work it would be to make that place flat enough to build an infastructure for a subdivision and a bunch of houses?
It did used to be the old shooting range for law enforecement... until they moved it out to Lithia. Now lots of car thieves use it as dumping grounds for stolen chassis. It would be really great if someone could buy it and make it a legal place for everyone to ride.

BUT, they have to give you a written warning before they can do anything. There are not no tresspassing signs up. As long as you are not a butthead to whoever catches you, I imagine everything would be fine.
Kinda like when you get pulled over for something stupid like your headlights being too bright, you can get a ticket if you are a jerk to the cop, but no sane cop would do it, hard to hold up in court.

I have been there two Sunday's in a row now. I have seen a few people there both times, and everyone says they haven't had any probs yet. I think the gate has been open for 2 reasons.
1. They have been in there mowing.
2. Someone cut the lock on the gate and was in there partying. There were fresh campfire remains, and bottles and trash all over the ground!
I think on the weekends you are less likely to have a problem, but PLEASE everyone pick up after yourselves. The garbage that LOSERS leave behind is what is going to ruin it for all the rest of us.
