1  General / Open Discussion / Re: 5A on: November 19, 2007, 08:36:13 PM
rode out at 5a on a tuesday night about a month and a week ago... stopped at the gas station and fueled up and asked for permission to park there and recieved permission... sweet... rode down the side of the road from the gas station to the entrance... 2 utilities with our lights on (was dark after all) and just riding slow... there were 2 cops in their cruisers... we cruised right by them without them saying a word to us and rode for awhile... came up on a couple people stuck in a wrangler... so we stopped and attempted to help... prob spent an hour there tryin to help them and waited till their friend showed up... they ended up being property owners and were filling up the feeders.... they said they dont mind people bein out there during non huntin season... but during huntin season they dont want anyone out there cause they might have dogs out or are trackin a deer... and if a atv goes zoomin by it can ruin a few hours of work... and that's why they get pissed... me and my friend actually recieved permission to be out there since we tried to help them out... guess some people had stopped earlier and after one try of attempting to pull them out... they left without sayin a word...

also went couple weeks ago... right after the pumpkin run... few people out there and didnt see any law enforcement

4  General / Open Discussion / Re: Check out what we're gonna be selling at work come Sept. on: February 17, 2007, 11:49:55 AM
legal definition of "ATV" under FL law.

"ATV" means any motorized off-highway or all-terrain vehicle 50 inches or less in width, having a dry weight of 900 pounds or less, designed to travel on three or more low-pressure tires, having a seat designed to be straddled by the operator and handlebars for steering control, and intended for use by a single operator with no passenger.

Maybe it's the "low" pressure tires,,,,that's how they're getting away with it?

Id@
There is the loop hole

i think both of y'all missed the loopholes...

off-highway or all-terrain vehicle - this vehicle is designed to be used on one terrain-pavement
50 inches or less in width - the overall width of the vehicle is 59.3 inches (1,506mm)
intended for use by a single operator with no passenger it looks like it has a rear seat for a 2nd passenger.. though i found no hard fact on the site stating it can be ridden with 2 people

and the tires used are inflated to 13-17psi.. seems low pressure to me

not to mention this is Florida's definition of a motorcycle
(27)  "Motorcycle" means any motor vehicle having a seat or saddle for the use of the rider and designed to travel on not more than three wheels in contact with the ground, but excluding a tractor or a moped.
5  General / Where to Ride? / Re: People and places to ride (im in seminole county) on: January 17, 2007, 04:56:20 PM
does anyone know if the place in apopka is still open? right across from the land fill or whatever it was?

i was always up for ridin if i wasn't workin, or already had plans... now i don't even own a 4-wheeler  Tongue
the place across from the dump has a fence around it now and i was told the dump bought the land. I miss that spot.

yeah i went once and it was a nice place to go for sport quads... was real close to home too

7  General / Where to Ride? / Re: What is this place called?? on: December 29, 2006, 11:18:21 PM
i think its called 5a

i don't think it's 5a.... cause you can get to there from 95... maybe it was the maytown side? never been up that way before... but the time i had been lookin for a way to get there it was not accessible from 95
8  General / Open Discussion / Re: I-Pod help on: December 29, 2006, 11:12:18 PM
usually when the ipod freezes you would hold the menu and the circle button(in the middle)and it will restart

but when that dosnt work wait until the battery runs out completely then charge it again it should reboot

i read this and was trying to figure out why you would let the battery run down... then i remebered why i bought a different brand of mp3 player.... one that i could actually remove the battery if need be! i mean... the other brands still have an occasional freeze up.... but waiting for the battery to die is retarded...

i love going down the trails that are less ventured (aka not the mainstream way )

(five-o... this post isn't directed towards you in any offensive manner)
9  General / Open Discussion / Re: Seminole Power Sports on: February 28, 2006, 10:50:19 PM
i went up there sunday to look at the raptor 700 and was wondering WTF was going on..... and now i know..... didn't stay for long.... just went to look at the raptor Smiley lol
10  General / Where to Ride? / Re: 5A sucked... on: February 28, 2006, 10:38:35 PM

imo it really depends on the rider..... takin a sport out there is kinda fun with mud and stuff... seeing what you can get through on just a 2x4... like i said though... depends how far the rider wants to go....  and what you like to ride... trails, water, mud is fun to me.... heck any kind of ridin is... and i got out there one time and was COVERED in mud.... yeah it took some muscle to get out of a couple of mud holes... but it was still fun.... buddy that was ridin with me was on a banshee.... and he was right there with me goin through some deep stuff... there was one hole that me and him got through pretty easy.... but the ute guys were havin problems

if you don't like gettin wet and muddy.... 5a is not the place for you... if you don't mind then go right ahead and try 5a out... but don't expect to get to far in some places.... impassible for a atv that don't float.... there are better spots to ride though....
11  General / Group Rides & Events / Ocala 2/20/06 Sunday on: February 04, 2006, 06:03:44 PM
anyone plan on bein in/around ocala that day? i think me and a buddy are headed up to big scrub.... depending on weather.... also possibly 2 more people will be going in my little group.... but if one can't go... nor can the other(no way to get there) so definitly 2 people if weather permits it!

it'll be my first time there... but not his... i ride a honda 250ex and he rides a 660 raptor
12  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Orlando Sandpit on: January 26, 2006, 01:49:23 PM
just get a date set-up... and i'll see about makin it out there.... sunday's are better than saturday's for me... cause the next 2 (plus this sat) are taken.... monster trucks one sat.... b-day party for niece the next sat... and then work the sat after that
13  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Orlando Sandpit on: January 24, 2006, 11:02:49 PM
I was there on sunday too and that is when i was told that the cops were out on saturday writing warrants.Im not sure if they were being writin to people in the fenced area or not. I just hate it when a good spot gets closed because of people dumping trash and burning car. If we would take care of the spots we have it wouldnt be so hard to find a place to ride.

where you there later in the day? what do you ride?
14  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Orlando Sandpit on: January 24, 2006, 03:16:24 PM
yeah i was out there late sunday... was a f-150 police truck drivin around out there... i didn't notice anyone gettin out and writing tickets.... and when i got back to my truck which was on the road a empty crown vic was there... so i don't think they were citing anyone..... besides i saw no, no trespassing signs when i was out there riding where i was
15  General / Photo Gallery & Videos / Re: For When I am not Riding on: January 23, 2006, 02:16:51 PM
yeah no matter what you will be putting a lot of money into these things... it truly sucks
even if you do run it around a house... parts will break.... you will run into things....

they are really fun... when they aren't broke Smiley

i've got about 3-4k total into the 2 that i have... Sad

i kinda wish i hadn't done that cause i could of had a nice 4-wheeler instead.... right now both of mine have been sitting for about a year and a half... don't wanna mess with them but i don't wanna sell them and lose my money either... i'll get back into it one day...
16  General / Where to Ride? / Re: So is the Sea World area really closed down?? on: January 17, 2006, 11:47:21 PM
Can anybody confirm this? I was out there on Sunday the 8th and did not have any problems. We were surprised at how few peolpe were out there though.

i believe they are cracking down on it now...

i was out that way with a car club(about 1~3 am) (uuhhh... we weren't doing anything... Wink ) and there were cops going in every kind of direction imaginable... when we found a spot in the road where it was pretty dead... a couple of guys drove by with a atv in tow (on a trailer) warning us of the cops... and we saw a quite a few people leavin with dirtbikes/atv's in the bed or on a trailer
17  General / Open Discussion / Re: Turbo DS650 on: January 17, 2006, 11:39:19 PM
That thing is SWEET Wink

But I'd rather buy a Banshee and put 5-6K in it and have a Supercharger on it.

Thats not possible, superchargers run from belts. Last time I checked, banshee's didnt have a serpintine belt.

well it would be possible to get a belt to run one.... but the real reason it won't work is because it's a 2-stroke..... it intakes as it's exhausting.... so anything you think your forcing in.... is going right out the exhaust
18  General / Open Discussion / Re: Sport Quads in Central FL. on: January 17, 2006, 11:33:42 PM
talked to an employee at Siemens there at lake Mary. He said that the plant there is closed down, and that they took down the No trespaasing signs. i have been there 3 times this week and rode with a couple different people there, and there were no problems.

good to know.... was up that way a few months ago with a buddy of mine and we were gonna ride... except for the fact that we saw those signs.... didn't want to unload the atv's get to runnin around and then have to put them back up cause we had to leave

i think i might try goin out to keene road this sunday if i ain't busy.... ya'll gonna be out there crispy?

he's pretty good.... but i didn't like him to much in Blue Collar Comedy Tour "Rides Again"... cause he used some of the same jokes...(atleast i believe so... been awhile since i watched it_

i wanna go to one where it's all 4 of em!
22  General / Open Discussion / Re: Truck dilemnas on: October 03, 2005, 01:35:41 PM
Also on the Duramx diesels the injectors are 700 a piece and there are 8 of them so thats 5600 for the parts alone. My dad has had to replace his twice, fortunately it was under warranty but the next time they go out it wont be.

The injectors were expensive when they first came out but the cost of them has come down quiet a bit. I don't think there no where near that now.

if they were that expensive.... that honestly sucks for chevy people.... the diesel option from the factory is usually 5-6 grand... i dont see injectors costing that much.... hell... for the cummins (not chevy i know) you can get a whole set of injectors for $300-$400

diesels are awesome if you take care of them.... they usually don't have problems (well i know the cummins usually doesnt).... oil changes do take atleast a gallon or 2 of oil... but it lasts atleast 6000 miles... no spark plugs to replace... no spark plug wires.... no distributor... etc

i'm a big ford guy..... but i'd rather get a dodge because of the cummins engine...

do some reasearch on both vehicles.... you'll find that both probably have a fair share of problems... for now... i'd go with the yota... it will be cheaper(hopefully) which will allow you to have money to play with.... yeah havin a big diesel powered ford would be awesome(i wanted a 99-02 when i was lookin for a truck) but i wouldnt have any money to go out and do sh*t with.... get the yota... have some fun.... get out of school... get a decent job and get a better truck.... that's the way to do it.... cause you'll have fun the whole time (well except at the job maybe... lol)
23  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Warning to all the fun loving atv riders on: September 29, 2005, 08:35:14 PM
Wow that totally freaks me out, I'm always the person riding up to people i don't know camps i don't know turn off the bike and start to talk to everyone around.  I guess I'm lucky they've all been decent enough people to not try to pull any crap like that.  I've always been scared that someone would F with my bike never really worried about myself (little woman syndrome always think i can handle my own) but i'll keep your story in mind the next time i want to met the people over yonder.  At least things weren't so bad man...at least you guys didn't get stabbed.

yeah that's the way my buddy has always been.... stops... chats with people... then takes off ridin again... nice thing to do... short little break... get to know people....

i'm definitly not complaining to much about what happened..could of been worse.. i'm still alive... no broken bones... no cuts... still have my 4-wheeler.... got away without much damage
24  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Warning to all the fun loving atv riders on: September 27, 2005, 02:25:17 PM
yeah it definitly sucked that it happened.... totally unexpected.... cause there was no argument or anything... just sittin there talkin about whatever

we'll both definitly have a knife on us when we go riding from now on... hopefully we can get more people to go with us

we talked to the cop... and 19 is the age of when you can be gifted a hand gun and ammunition.... soooo... got a year left and then we don't have to be so close to the attackers to stop them...

ride in big groups when you can help it... that helps to prevent stuff like this... i'm sure if there was 4 of us.... this might not of happened... or if it did... well they'd be a little ruffed up before the cops got there

luckily my buddy didn't bring his gf... she was going to... but somethin came up and she couldnt... worse things could of happened....

i'm happy that i'm alive... and for the most part... in good health... definitly could be a different story right now.... and i got my atv still... life is good Smiley
25  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Scottsmore on: September 27, 2005, 02:16:53 PM
the place is pretty big from what i have seen... i wouldnt suggest going now though.... neeeds possibly 3-4 weeks of little to no rain... and you can get to the bigger area's.... a lot of it a sport quad couldn't go past because of deep slick mud.... or deeeeeep water

but from what i have been able to ride... it's decently big... and i looked at it on google earth (map program) and there seems to be tons of places to ride past where i was able to go
