General / Where to Ride? / ONF
|

Before someone tells me to do a search, I've looked and I've seen snipets of the rules in the forest now. Is there someplace online that has them written? I haven't seen anything posted where we ride in the forest.

Nobody has ever been shot in the last 15 years??? Right....Someone usually gets shot every season in the ONF. The mentality of the hunters IMHO is Iam here to hunt & I paid for my license(most of the time) & these dang quad riders better leave, so let me fire a warniing shot over the bow(hopefully a good aim). I have hardcore hunters in my family & I know how they talk about it. Hopefully it is all talk but in some cases it isnt like IDa said. I wonder who spends more money on the area, the riders all year or the hunters in 3 months? ? I didn't say nobody has been shot, but that doesn't mean they were shot because they were riding an ATV, and I doubt you can verify a single person being shot because of riding. You are painting all hunters with a broad brush. Would you appreciate it if all hunters equated all ATV riders with a couple of knucklheads? I am a hunter, and I ride atv's, now does that make me an azzhole, or an alright guy because I ride.

there are areas just for hunting but you should check at ranger station to see where they are
Actually, nearly the entire forest is open to hunting. There are some small spots where it's prohibited, and around dwellings.

I love to bird hunt. I haven't gotten to do it as much the last couple of years, just been busy. I'll hunt anything that has a feather. Debbie's daddy is the caretaker of 1100 acres right on the Suwannie River, that the owner only uses for quail hunting. He tries to keep the vegetation just right for them, and plants food for them. He also puts out pen raised quail from time to time. He has eight well trained bird dogs there, and it's a ball just to watch them hunt. I'd much rather bird hunt than deer hunt, and the birds are a helluva lot lighter to carry out.

Real estate has historically been a safe investment, but lately it's been an extremely hot investment. A lot of people say the bubble is going to burst soon on the re market, but it hasn't yet. I think it will too. When people buy things just to turn around and sell it for a profit, it contributes nothing to the economy, and can only ride so far. It's like the dotcom market. When things are selling for amounts that are astronomically more than they are worth, someone is going to be left without a chair when the music stops.
Talk is the Fed is going to raise intrest rates again a quarter point. One of the reasons RE has been so hot, is due to cheap money. Once the mortgage rates start really climbing, buyers for big money RE won't be as plentiful.
DISCLAIMER: I have no degree in economics, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.
Also, I just refinanced my house this morning getting out of an ARM I had, because I don't see rates coming down anytime soon, if at all during my lifetime.

Yea you better be strapped. I heard alot of stories of people being shot by hunters.
Oh yeah? Well I've hunted it for 15 years, and I live within a mile and a half of it, and I've never heard of anyone getting shot. That being said, I wouldn't ride early in the morning, or at dusk. I wouldn't worry about getting shot, but I'd worry about catching a couple tires full of roofing nails.

It's Football season, And Da Bucs haven't been 4-0 ina few years. They really sqeaked one out today, Got a good call at the end of the game. Bring on Jets, can you say 5-0 Sqeaked one out? You mean were handed another one. They should have blown Detroit out instead of depending on an over turned touchdown. I thought to over turn a call you had to have undisputable evidence? They ruled a Detroit touchdown and when I freezed framed it on my DVR it was to close to justly overturning it. You should hear in the next couple of days that the referee that overturned it made a mistake. Like I said in another NFL related post this was going to be another feel good game playing the hapless Lions. They get another feel good game next week by playing a quarteback less Jet team. After that reality sinks in when they play a real team. The unrespected and very talented MIAMI DOLPHINS. " said in a announcer type voice" Even Trx 350 on the rack knows that this is true. Go Dolphins!!!! This is all said in fun so don't get bent out of shape Bucs fans. If you do beat Miami I'll be on here to take my lumps. And if you don't I'll make a post full of smileys. Ah, I had to search to find the Fins fan that said they were a real team that was going to hand the Bucs a whuppin'. NOT! Starting tailback out the whole day, starting quarterback out over half the game, and still put the what's happening on the hapless Fish. If the Bucs are that bad, what does that say about the fins? Oh. btw, would you like one lump or two?

I have the cheapest Etrex they make. Paid $100 for it. I use it on my four wheeler, and I use it on my 78mph boat with no problems. It may not have all the bells and whistles as more expensive ones, but hell, I don't know how to use all the stuff that's already on this one. If it tells me where I am, where I've been, and where I want to go, I'm good.

Cutting older timber allows undergrowth and such to grow which has more food in it for most animals. Very few animals can eat a tree. A lot of animals eat grass.

The Bucs throughout their history have been known to play up to the level of the opponent. Even in the bad years, they always played better games against the better teams. I expect the Bucs to roll the Jets, who as I recall, whipped the Fins. The Bucs defense has only given up three offensive touchdowns in four weeks. I don't see the Fins rolling it up on them.

Awsome Redfish and great tuna. How far out were yall? 15+miles?
I caught the tuna about 20 to 25 miles offshore. It was near where the shrimpers cull the catch from the night before. Makes a great chumline. I caught another one the same size in the same place the next week, and lost a 40+ kingfish at the gaff that week too.

Cableguy1, Yep, I'll be there . So far the teams that the bucs beat have a losing records. No doubt that miami will be there first test of a good team. We'll see should be a good game
They can only beat the team that's in front of them. I find it a weak criticism. I also predict they will Squish the Fish.
