1  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: Anyone want to try riding in the Osceola National Forest? on: April 06, 2016, 02:15:51 PM
I would like to go there sometime.....but its a 3 hr drive from where we are at.
2  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Is 5A wet right now? on: March 31, 2016, 11:41:00 AM
correct.

once you get off of 95, the parking lot is right there.

we like to get out there early ( around 8 ) and ride before all the drinkers get there......but we will exchange numbers when the time comes and we will just meet you at the parking lot.

OK...... now I REALLY have to get up there.

right now its on the dry side, but we can still find plenty of water to ride in...

like I mentioned before, email me or even little blue 300 as we often ride together and we will show you around out there.

if your snorkeled, even better.
5  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Is 5A wet right now? on: March 31, 2016, 05:41:09 AM
thanks Larry.

I like to give people an idea of what they might get into when they come out there for the first time.

rainy season, its even worse....  Grin

I am wondering what the conditions are like out there currently. We don't really care for the mud so we
are looking for some good trail riding minus the mud.

this might not be your place on account of mud and water.         right now its on the dry side.....but in a few months when rainy season starts, it will be very, very wet out there.

here is another video.....

it is private land, but people ride out there regardless.      you wont get in trouble for riding out there.

there is rumor / talk of this place shutting down as supposedly a hotel is going to be put up out there...and whether or not this is going to happen, nobody knows.

Where is 5A?

it is off of the scottsmoor exit on 95 .

its kinda  dry out there right now, but we did have some rain the last few days......but if its wet, I highly suggest that you dont go out there alone due to some of the water holes, which can be pretty nasty.

we go out there most saturdays with a group, more than welcome to join.
9  General / Open Discussion / Re: Looking to ride on: March 07, 2016, 07:51:54 AM
you can still ride out there, and when its going to officially close down, nobody knows.     Might show up on a weekend to ride and its closed off.

there are other places to ride....just have to travel a bit to get there.
10  General / Open Discussion / Re: Looking to ride on: February 25, 2016, 11:50:56 AM
there is talk of it being shut down, but it hasnt happened yet.

some say 6 months , and then someone else will say a few more years ?

while its not flooded out there, it is very wet out there right now.

I have read that they are going to shut it down there sooner or later

that is the word......

going by what I read in your post, 5a more than likely wont be your place for riding.....as its very hard to catch the time of when there isnt a lot of water out there and its just trail riding.

if you change your mind let me know .....

19  General / Where to Ride? / Re: 5A Underwater on: August 18, 2014, 12:05:59 PM
Agree.

We usually park on the Maytown side and on the way there, we look at how much water is in the ditches and that gives us an idea of how wet its going to be.

Bottom of the ridge has been getting water, which normally doesnt happen....and noticed a few other spots as well.

It will be nice once some of the water goes down and we can then play in the mud..... Grin
20  General / Where to Ride? / Re: 5A how are the conditions on: August 08, 2014, 10:00:39 PM
" has anyone heard of some event going on out there this weekend? "

yes....the big trucks are going to be out there around 10-ish.
21  General / Open Discussion / Re: Lurkers?!!? Is this normal?? Sign up!! on: August 04, 2014, 10:18:34 AM
I have been on here since 11 /13 and I check this site quite often......

a lot of the threads I see are members getting together either to far away or on a day that I cant ride....

I'm 150 miles away and would only make it there a couple times per year. So yes it's way too much money.

So, I see that I am not the only one that thinks that its a little pricey.

I understand that its your park and you can set the rules, prices as you see fit....but how do you plan on getting people out there if the price is already to high ?         Owners of parks want reasons why people dont come out to ride , and this would be one of the reasons is the cost.

We have friends that live in Jacksonville and we are in Deltona and we try and find a half way point to meet and ride...and this would be on this list but its that price that ruins it.

Have you thought about offering a 1 or 2 day pass where the person can pay a daily fee to ride out there ?    Maybe this would bring out more riders  as its more affordable.
23  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Florida Cracker Ranch on: July 18, 2014, 08:37:55 PM
Saw your site before and looks like a nice place to go to....but seems a little expensive .    I get that it costs to pay for this and that...but just seems that its a lot of money to fork out at once.

" Adventure Membership
Only 500  Adventure Memberships will be sold with an annual payment of $600 plus tax for a family and $400 plus tax for a single person. Prices will go up annually as the club expands and adds more adventures. "

Here’s a heads up. for those of you that were here for the last event you know the trails were under water and more rain is predicted. our continued use will eventually destroy much of our valued environment. trying to be as eco friendly as possible and preserve our park we will hold several events with no trail riding. I know that sucks but if we don’t take care of what we have we will lose it. gadget and I are proposing the following; during the wet times our area will be limited to the campground and ATV track area. we will offer reduced rates, more infield events, more races and more party atmosphere weekends until things dry up. PLEASE DON’T BE DISCOURAGED we have no control over mother nature. we will have bands on fri and sat nights and more truck and ATV races with larger cash prizes. feel free to suggest anything you’d like to do or see.Our rates during the wet times will be as follows; a three day and night weekend $25.00, sat entry will be$15.00 and Sunday will be $10.00. please remember our park closes at 6 pm and everyone needs to be gone. if you want to have a great affordable weekend come out and play. please be patient and don’t ask every five minutes “is it dry yet–like when you were a little kid on a trip with your parents and kept asking are we there yet” we want things to return to normal as bad as you do and will keep you posted as often as possible. so till things dry up it’s gonna be The woods are under water– party in the park.
