2  General / Tech Corner / Re: z400 cuts out over whoops on: November 27, 2009, 02:49:31 AM
Ive got this same problem and it happens when Im coming up on a jump or riding uphill on a dune. I think it may be the CDI because of the fact that when I put the key to "off" it still runs for like 3 seconds and then it shuts off.
3  General / Tech Corner / Re: hyper bead locks on: November 27, 2009, 02:44:35 AM
I know this is weeks old but I went the same route and it wasnt worth it. I would of rather just spent 200$ on a used set of Hipers. In your friends case, why not get an axle that is +2?

my best friend does it. You are going to live in the middle of nowhere or live in a big city like Phoenix and have to drive 1-2 hours to work. My friend just rents a realllllly small apartment for 400$ a month and if he works a double he will stay there and any other time he just goes home. The school is a joke according to him but he was a Marine and he did say that a lot of guys failed because they couldnt run. Not every single border patrol agent carries a weapon. The money is good if you are single because you can work a lot of overtime if you want. Oh yeah and brush up on your spanish.

That seems like a lifetime ago!

no a lifetime ago was the night you caught those 3 dudes skinny dipping in the back of a Ford F-150! Shocked
8  General / Open Discussion / Re: Question for people who know alot about hunting rifles and scopes. on: July 30, 2008, 10:07:00 PM
hey I used the football example as a simple example and thats all. As soon as any bullet departs any barrel it starts to drop. Of course at 50 yards the drop will be miniscule compared to at 500 yards but it does drop. I'm sorry if my explanation makes no sense but Im not good at typing an explanation.

The fact is that the earth is curved and thats the only thing I am going to argue with on here with anyone if they want to:)

I think we are all saying the same thing just in different ways.

Cheesy Rolling on the Floor Laughing Looney Bonk

This is too funny!

Fox17 - Congrats on the rifle. Send me a PM and I'll guide you (correctly) on setting things up.

God this was a funny thread.

Why cant you just post it up? I would like to see how your input varies from mine and make sure you know what you are talking about because I know a thing or two about long range/quick acquisition Wink

a circle no bigger then 2 inches in diameter. Naturally you want a black circle on a white back ground. Step away from the circle 36 paces and fire. Your scope should be adjustable for up and down and right and left. Only in a perfect world can a scope be bolted to a rifle and it fires where the cross hairs are. PM me were you are shooting and I might be able to teach you some stuff on the proper way to shoot.

were goin out to some property our church owns in the woods here in Brevard county. Cocoa to be exact.

i have a 36"x36" target that i can put a circle on. so, i need to walk 36 steps/yards to shoot? then where will that be zeroed in at? 100yds?

- take 3 well aimed shots to get your group you then adjust your scope from these 3 shots to get you in the center
-take another 3 shots to get your next group, if your 3 shots are in the center then take another 4 shots to confirm and if they are not then repeat the first step.

Now you are zeroed at 100 yards and the only adjustment you have to make is elevation (not needed in Florida) or wind calls to justify for the wind. Im not going to insult your intelligence but do you know that a bullet takes a path similar to a football thrown from the 1 yard line to the next end-zone 99 yards away?
11  General / Open Discussion / Re: street legal atv on: July 30, 2008, 12:39:49 AM
Its not the registration, Its the title. To make an ATV street legal you have to get the "off road" on the title off and the "motorcycle" on. I have been looking into it for a while and I guess now have to do it before the end of the year.

To start, you have to make the necessary changes (lights, turn sig, mirrors, wheels and tires) to DOT specs. Then take a long ass road trip to a state that will inspect the quad and change the title to a motorcycle title. At that point you will have to pay all the titling fees and taxes. Then you can re-register the quad back here in Florida along with the titling fees and taxes again, the idiots at your local tag office wont know the difference because the title is now a motorcycle title. The only catch is.... If it was previously registered in Florida it will set a red flag and may complicate the whole registration process.

but..........
there is a farm vehicle clause and I have shown the paperwork and links to a few members of this site. State of Florida will allow you to register an off road vehicle with plates for the purpose of "temporary on-road use". You can either dig through my posts from back in 2003-2004 or just go to any dmv in Ocala or Polk County and they should be able to help you. I was allowed to do it but I actually knew back then someone that owned an Orange grove in Lake Placid but then the dreaded :08 accident happened and there went my Banshee.

94Hardbody4x4 got it right. You have to register it in a state that allows it then transfer the title / registration here. But you better hurry. Federal law is getting ready to supercede state laws in January and no ATV will be allowed to be street legal anywhere.

Thank Charlie Christ for that one. He was the leader in the whole thi ng since Florida is ranked second in the world for ATV sales. California being first.
State laws can be passed that are less restrictive than Federal law, but not more restrictive.
p.s. it does'nt matter if it was previously registered in another State it still wont be legal in Florida Sad

yeah but Florida cops will see a license plate from another state and think its ok.  My point is that it will "look" legit:)
14  General / Open Discussion / Re: Question for people who know alot about hunting rifles and scopes. on: July 29, 2008, 07:01:50 PM
thats what i was thinking. i figured itd mess with it somehow. i wont use it then. unless i just absolutely have to.

Do you know how to get a true zero(calibrate) on a scope? If I was you I recommend shooting with iron sights until you can no kidding hit everything you see in your sights. It is harder to hit your target with a scope then with iron sights believe it or not. Some guys mount up a scope and just start shooting. There are too many variables involved when a scope gets involved. My suggestions.

-Get a large washer size cardboard box.
-draw a circle that is 2 inches wide all around on it
-take 3 well aimed shots on it then mark them (your shots should be in a circle no bigger then a tennis ball)
-adjust sights (if you have adjustable sights)
-take another well 3 aimed shots and if your sights or scope is any good you should be dead on target

Yellow is set up for low - no reflection. So you do not see your own eyeball when looking in the glass. You can see better in the low light hours if the tube is bigger. The tube between the two occular glass pieces. So, the larger the diameter of the straight tube the better the low level light you can see in.

Any film on any glass is made for reflection and not general occular enhancement. To achieve occular enhancement you must incorporate night vision or magnification. Nerd

30-06 baddass by the way! I love that particular rifle. My favorite is the AK-47 unfortunately you cant eat much of the meat when you are finished killing it Roll Eyes

uhmmm kind of. The yellow lens is for low light but I recommend only at dusk and not dawn. If you can see your own eyeball in an optic then your eye relief is messed up. From experience I will tell you that you should take the yellow lens off if you can. If you are good shooter it will mess up your sight picture and alignment because of the intensity.

new mexico and arizona will let you get plates for an atv. You are only supposed to ride them on certain roads and at certain times but you will have plates and no cop in florida will know anyways.

how long does it take to mow that yard? Grin
about 4 years... we actually just rake the "grass" because it turns into dry weeds during winter.

24  General / Photo Gallery & Videos / Re: This is not correct is it??? on: August 31, 2005, 06:38:38 PM
all single a arm minis are like that, the lack of upper a arms makes camber correction impossible. its just tie rods and thats it. The smaller guys dont need intricate suspension for the speed and the air that they are getting.

before you get yourself in trouble, you need to remove your unit's name from your posts.
