Title: raptor starter

it makes noise like its spinning but not turning engine over. do i need a new starter or did i wreck something else? thanks for your help. john

The little gear that spins the engine over isn't moving forward, it's stuck. Remove starter and see if you can clean and lube, then see if it works.

im not sure if the raptor is the same, but when that was happening on my 400ex, it was the starter clutch that had gone bad

i read something about that to. i hope it's just the starter gear.

It's the one way bearing. Raptors are famous for that.

You need to replace the starter clutch not the starter. Raptor do seem to eat them up.
