Crankcase oil?  ???  Does your quad back fire alot? You sure it's not the oil you put on the air filter?

Even if you had blowby, the oil would reach the top of the piston and plug but don't know why it would be sucked back through the carb to the air box.

it does not back fire. the oil is not comming out of the carb and air filter!
the oil is comming out a hose from the engine to the air box? and it is oil and it pours out! :'(

well dont know much about bikes but on cars you need a breathing system for the crankcase(pcv-positive crankcase ventilation) if you dont have the proper ventilation it will vent oil up to the airbox. cars have a pcv valve that goes bad......dont know if bikes have as well.

Duh, why I didn't think of that. That's what it is. But didn't know that quads had them. I deleted them off my race car.  You can cut and plug the hose but before you do it I'd ask around. Don't know if there is anything detrimental on quads if done.

Gery- Good thinking. U perdy smart.......... for a white guy.  ;)   -Mark

That used to happen to my '04 Warrior.  Is it blue oil
that's leaking out?  I found that on my air filter and intake
I changed the air filter and got a K&N and never happened again.

om my xr50 i got a k&n filter and i had to get this thing called a crankcase breather so that could be the problem.

Have you rolled it latley?  Sometimes oil can leak from the crankcase breather into the airbox if the quads been upside down.  Drain it out and check it again.

replace your rings eric. remember mine does the same thing.

what im going to do is get rid of that black box on my 450 and run a hose up around the frame and let it hang. like in the dirt bikes.
the enviormental agency doesnt want the oil on the ground so thats my they made that box and to run in your air box. :-X

Ususally some oil will come into the airbox if you are riding WOT or  off camber a lot or from bring overfilled. But, if oil is being pushed out while just idling the the point its going to starve the bike of oil. You probably have a blocked oil passage. If you are leary of the dealers in your area try a motorcycle repair shop. I find they generally do better and quicker work.
