Title: Hey Powerstroke owners, where do you go for information? Post by: LonesomeTriZ on November 26, 2005, 01:59:48 PM It looks as though I will be getting my beast back on the road as soon as the rest of my loan money comes through. Right now it as many upgrades, mostly from Banks. I want to add some more like better brakes, bigger fuel tanks, coolers, and many other upgrades. Where do you all go to find out what is available for these monsters? Are there any forums around for Powerstrokers?

Post by: LonesomeTriZ on November 26, 2005, 11:38:30 PM That sounds good to me. Maybe you can help me figure out what I should get. I want my truck be a purpose biult tow rig. I have a lot of Banks products on it and the transmission is currently being upgraded. Can you tell me what kind of braking upgrades I can perform and can you tell me a little bit about the FORD 7.3L E4OD & R4100 SHIFT ENHANCER. My truck is a 95 so any information will be a big help. Thanks.

Title: Re: Hey Powerstroke owners, where do you go for information? Post by: Chuck_Norris on November 27, 2005, 08:32:19 PM The 2 sites that Chilli mentioned are top notch there are others that offer some help as well. the biggest issue on the early power stroke is the size of the Turbo housing. you will find that you turbo lag is excessive in that year. you might consider an upgraded turbo fan or call garrett and get a late model turbo. you also have a flat exhaust pipe that leads up to the turbo. get a late model down pipe or and after market system that has the 3'' down pipe on it. BTS transmission (Brian Truck shop) are the best around when it comes to the 4R100. Sun Coast Trans also offers a pretty good unit. Brian will talk to you on the phone and give you suggestions when it comes the yours. if it does not already have an exterior trans cooler on it. I strongley suggest that. I might be able to put my hands on a rear disk brake set up from a late model unit if you want to modify it to fit yours. I have worked on these FORD diesels since 1992. I'll help you where I can.

Post by: LonesomeTriZ on November 28, 2005, 08:37:30 AM You are the man. I am very interested in the break set up. I ma running a Sterling gen II 10 1/4 rear. Will the break conversion fit that rear end? the tranny is currenlty undergoing many upgrades wihich includes a very large and well made external cooler. I do have an upgraded turbo houseing and the 3 inch down pipe from Banks. I am not sure which kit I have, but it does include a new intercooler and tubing. Being since I have no idea what the truck had before I can only go by what looks out of place. Can you tell me how I can idientify what all has been done to it so I will know what I can get? I would also like to upgrade the breaks with more than just a disk break conversion. An exhaust break is not in my budget right now but I would like to do other things. Can you tell me what is available?
