Title: Why do fellow hunters steal others treestands? Post by: wilburz on October 15, 2005, 04:12:28 PM people who steal treestands are the absolute lowest scum on the earth! They have expensive guns etc. but can't spend a hundred bucks for a damn stand. What a joke.
tree stand stealer = dead thief Title: Re: Why do fellow hunters steal others treestands? Post by: foreman1 on October 15, 2005, 08:11:13 PM wilburz,
I take it you lost a stand . Sucks but don't get all worked up over it. I've had several stands stolen over the years . This is way more common than most people think . 20 years ago this wasn't much of a problem I guess because times were different and there were'nt any $200 climbers hangin unattended tempting the weak. Back then most stands were home made and varied in quality from well built to deadly . The same scenario for airboats , who stealin' them ?Airboaters . Don't break down and leave one unattended , especially if it has an aircraft motor or a nice prop. No matter the group there is a small percentage of scum among the group that ruins it . >:( Title: Re: Why do fellow hunters steal others treestands? Lawless bast**ds who have no respect for game laws or any other laws. >:( >:( >:(

Title: Re: Why do fellow hunters steal others treestands? Post by: jwscroll on October 16, 2005, 06:50:07 AM Set a booby trap. something harmless but scary. Some rubber snakes sitting in the seat, or maybe make it collapse. Just think of what some idiot like that might do with a gun, shoot anything that moves even if they can't see it. Ya'll be careful when riding during the season.
Title: Re: Why do fellow hunters steal others treestands? Post by: wilburz on October 16, 2005, 12:35:55 PM I only buy cheap ladder stands. Had a jackass steal just the 3 , 5 ft. ladder pieces. I had the part you sit on but it was at the base of the tree sitting in a foot of water.
It is just rediculous that scum bags go out hunting and bring home other stands and stuff. Title: Re: Why do fellow hunters steal others treestands? Post by: Honda250ex on October 16, 2005, 04:14:43 PM I wish we could leave them up in the tree and let them climb down them selves ;D ;D :D
Title: Re: Why do fellow hunters steal others treestands? Post by: jwscroll on October 17, 2005, 04:57:51 AM Hook a battery to bare wire, run the wire the length of the ladder( both sides, negative and positive). When the thief grabs it in the morning dew he'll wish he'd brought his or her own stand. ;)
