Title: Can I Do This? Post by: NP04Foreman on October 11, 2005, 08:08:20 AM Everybody obviously knows I'm having technical difficulties with my four-wheeler... But I have been looking at performance parts on HL and I think that my fourwheeler is giving me problems because the cylinder head is scratched which I will have to bore it out. Would it be okay if I just bore it out 40 Over since I am going to have to get it bored anyways? I am wanting to get the High Compression 40 Over Pistons, Jet Kit, SuperTrapp Exhaust and whatever else comes in the kit. But now some people are telling me not to do it because it could do more damage or something like that but i dont understand why HL would sell it if it would damage your fourwheeler. Please let me know. Thanks Chris

But I would opt for a camshaft with a different lift and duration , a valve job , and some valve springs to compliment it. Or you could just go one size over and be done. If youre looking for stump pulling power go out and get a job and save up for a big bore bike . Jason

but if it was me and i knew for sure it was the cylinder i would get that kit u were talking about.. Title: Re: Can I Do This? Post by: NP04Foreman on October 12, 2005, 05:46:59 PM It has alot wrong i am going to dig into the motor soon but if it is the pistons and stuff can i do that kit?
Title: Re: Can I Do This? Post by: Truegrit on October 12, 2005, 08:37:23 PM You can do that kit but you need to get the motor solid first. Ecspecially if its the rod knocking, because you will most likely need a new crank.
If you feel the need for a Hi-compression piston, sell the bike and get a big bore. The high comp. piston will not increase the motors longevity. You can have the cylinder bored out 0.25, 0.50, 0.75 and 1.0 MM. The thinner the cylinder wall (bigger bore) the more heat it will produce and generally lower longevity. If all you need is the piston, pin and ring set, you can get those for around $100 plus the cost of boring the cylinder. Pretty cheap if it only needs a top end. If it needs a bottom end your looking at $250 more. Title: Re: Can I Do This? Post by: NP04Foreman on October 12, 2005, 10:13:50 PM what is the crank? how much is that?
Title: Re: Can I Do This? Post by: Chillinthemost on October 13, 2005, 09:35:10 AM I dont want to offend you but by the way you are asking these questions I dont think you are qualified to take your motor apart. At least get a friend that knows what a crank is to help you.
