Title: Re: ***JUST A HEADS UP ON 06YFZ'S*** Post by: 53yfz450 on October 07, 2005, 10:35:46 PM maybee because its an easy fix, im sure if one of those bolts vibrate loose and cause some serious damage they will recall it. :-\
Title: Re: ***JUST A HEADS UP ON 06YFZ'S*** Post by: 53yfz450 on October 07, 2005, 10:51:22 PM yeah but if this is yamahas falt they would have a reacall you probabbly wont need a warranty. and it wont last 6 months those bolts look like they would fall out very quickly.
Title: Re: ***JUST A HEADS UP ON 06YFZ'S*** Post by: Bigscrb15 on October 08, 2005, 12:01:03 AM i think this might make a good sticky in the the tech corner for when it falls off the front page here
Title: Re: ***JUST A HEADS UP ON 06YFZ'S*** Post by: 53yfz450 on October 08, 2005, 10:36:20 AM yeah wait till you really start riding that raptor im sure their will be a recall on it soon.
Title: Re: ***JUST A HEADS UP ON 06YFZ'S*** Post by: jaxdawg on October 08, 2005, 02:52:12 PM but the raptor would have the same kind of thing in it right
Title: Re: ***JUST A HEADS UP ON 06YFZ'S*** Post by: 53yfz450 on October 08, 2005, 02:56:24 PM its a totally different engine.
Title: Re: ***JUST A HEADS UP ON 06YFZ'S*** Post by: superstar on October 08, 2005, 03:08:12 PM Why would they be loose, and who wants to pay that kind of money to just have to go home tear it down and basically rebuild it it from the floor up. Tighten every nut and bolt??? Thats a joke right.
Title: Re: ***JUST A HEADS UP ON 06YFZ'S*** Post by: 53yfz450 on October 08, 2005, 03:21:12 PM i dont know how yamaha could have missed this but they did. i know i always check every bolt on my bike very often you never know what could vibrate loose. ???
Title: Re: ***JUST A HEADS UP ON 06YFZ'S*** Post by: superstar on October 08, 2005, 03:43:54 PM After its had some ride time of course, but off the show room floor.Thats ridiculous. This is some excellent info. Personally id be sure to mention it the day i bought one, and stand there and watch em fix it. Can you say PREP FEES??. Fellas you are paying for the fact that this bike has been set up (prepped).
Title: Re: ***JUST A HEADS UP ON 06YFZ'S*** Post by: dvx400#1 on October 08, 2005, 04:22:17 PM yamaha should fix this problem after all you have to pull the stater and the idle gear or something like that to tighten those screws. :o
Title: Re: ***JUST A HEADS UP ON 06YFZ'S*** Post by: TRX450R_Racer on October 08, 2005, 09:48:46 PM I went over my whole quad the day I brought it home. I even took out the swingarm bolt and disassembled the rear link to grease everything up really good. If you ever had to beat a stuck swingarm bolt out you can understand why I tore it a part. By looking at the picture om GT Thunders site it doesn't look that hard to get at.
Title: Re: ***JUST A HEADS UP ON 06YFZ'S*** Post by: jaxdawg on October 09, 2005, 09:07:51 PM well this is the first year that they have done fuel injection. it will be interesting to see what yahama will do about this next year in the 2007's
Title: Re: ***JUST A HEADS UP ON 06YFZ'S*** Post by: svtbolt04 on October 10, 2005, 07:28:58 PM Those are not hard to get to, the gear comes right out. Slides right back in. I accidently pulled it off because I thought it was my oil filter and when I pulled it off, I saw those two screws, but didnt know about that problem untill last night.
Title: Re: ***JUST A HEADS UP ON 06YFZ'S*** Post by: svtbolt04 on October 21, 2005, 01:53:39 PM Opened it up today, WHOA!!! they were almost out. If you have a YFZ, look at them even if you dont have a 06.
Title: Re: ***JUST A HEADS UP ON 06YFZ'S*** Post by: 01ZX12R on December 09, 2005, 06:15:23 PM Check all of the stator cover bolts at the same time. I rode my 06 for the first time for about 1/2 hour and when I was cleaning it up I noticed that it was missing 5 bolts out of the stator cover. I then pulled off the starter gear cover to find the 2 bolts behind there loose as well.
Title: Re: ***JUST A HEADS UP ON 06YFZ'S*** Post by: Ride1Rob on December 14, 2005, 09:38:54 AM I've had my bike for 2yrs now and ride it pretty hard. I've never checked those bolts but when I get my bike back I'll check them. If their loose at least then we'll know they won't come out.
