I know a lot of people have to leave the kids behind to go on the big group rides. I'm thinking of putting something together just for the little ones, or anyone for that matter thats not in a hurry. My idea is to do this before gun season opens, I'll check the dates on that. I'm thinking that we could start at the Eureka pit or Rodman and ride to my cabin (its about 11miles from either starting point) then cook some burgers or something and hang out then head back. It would be short enough that just about any one could do it, but we could make a day of it. My 4 yr old son has made the trip on his 50 many times. Anyone interested, I have 3 children that would go 9yrs and 7yrs girls and 4 1/2yrs old son.

That's a really neat idea for the kids.  I had no idea your son was so young.  I thought he was like 6.  He's a darn good kid.

Depending on the date, we'll be there, my wife, myself, and boys.

Count us in we have a 5 year that rides a 90.  We usually bring her on the rides but she doubles with daddy.  So she would love to go on a ride with a bunch of kids.  The only day we couldn't go is November 5th, we are having her Birthday Party that day. :)

Sound like a great idea.  My son will turn 5 in November and loves to ride.  Little cooler temperatures and before gun seeson sounds smart.

The group that rode with me & Stitch Saturday at the Seed Orchard have a 6 year old and he would love to ride with some other kids. He has an Eton 50. I'd be up for that. :Clap.gif :Clap.gif :Clap.gif

I want to go.  I am sure that my friends will want to go with their yunguns.  We adults can give a little for the kids and go slow for them.  Some of them youngsters can go faster than us.   ;D   I am in as a chaperoun

I'm sure my friends Chuck and Mike that were there this weekend would like to take their kids too.

I was thinking Oct. 29th or Nov. 5th. I think either date works for us. Hunting season starts Nov.12th. I'll probably keep my kids out of the forest after that.

October 29th sounds great for us, Caitlin's B-Day party is the 5th and we are having a big bash for her.  This should be our last group ride in Florida, we have had an offer on our house.  We are suppose to close in December.

I think the 29th works for us. Now, we could either start at Eureka or Rodman. Its about the same distance to my place(lunch) from either. I'm thinking meet in the morning and let them ride in the pit for a while, then top off their tanks and go on a trail ride to lunch and work our way back to the pit for more "freestyle". This would be a good ride to bring the grandparents or beginners because I'm going to keep it real slow.

That works for us. :)

Awsome idea. I love to ride with the adults but I like riding with the kids way better. The look on there faces and the dirty little trail smile is what its all about. I am in I just need to ck my schedule.

I'm quite sure my friends and their kids won't be able to make that weekend.  We'll all be out at C&R playing in the mud and doing hay rides w/ the kids.

Okay so we are having the kids ride on the 29th, what time do we want to meet?

I'll be going up on Fri. We can meet whenever, say 9 or 10. It makes no difference to me. I dont know how far everyone has to drive.

Well we only live 45 minutes away from Rodman,  so it doesn't matter to us.   :)

hey chillin we are wanting to bring up our nephew from fort myers. so a later start would help us. do you have a pay pal so that we can help with supplies(burgers /sodas ect,)

do you think a 50cc off brand will make it? my buddy's kid has one and he wants to ride it on the trail but it has a hard time in soft sand.

My son rides a 50cc Kasea and he has made the planned trip. The sand in the pit at the starting point might give the little bikes some trouble, but the trail will be easy. I say bring it and we'll deal with it.

Chillin'  I would love to help out even though my friends will not be able to go on the 29th.  Nov 5th is better for them.  I still help if you need help.           GSPKurt our friends cannot do it on the 29th. 

The only place there is soft sand is at the pit at Rodman, once he gets past that he shouldn't have any problems.  But there will be enough people to help get him threw it at the pit.

    AW rats!!!!!!!!! we would loveeeeeeeeeeeeee to go but both days are not going to work for us because of the wedding......we are in for another ride after this one though.....

Would it be a problem to leave a fuel jug at your place? My quad will probly make it both ways but I am not so sure about Mike's.

  Welcome aboard Mrs. Nightbreed, its only about 11 miles from Eureka to my place but if you need to drop gas that would be fine.

Chillin, and all the rest, if i can work it out I would like to come and maybe bring my youngest son, he is 34 today but we both like to ride and see the way the kids look and how they ride. Let me know if I can help and will try to work it out.

No, I didn't miss that post. No one ever set a date, it was talked about being in Jan. or Feb. This ride will be Oct. 29th. Why wait?

YOUR Right. I just wanted to make it a big deal and give folks a chance to prepare for it. If I can make it I'll be there to to support you all the way!!  :ThumbsUp.gif  I think I'mm riding Eureka this weekend and will be glad to scout out some places for the youngun's to have a blast.  ;D

Hope you can make the ride sport. I'm sure the kids will be ready for another by Feb. I have a weekend place up there and we are there a couple time a month.

My kids are allways ready to ride. cant wait to see all the kids on the trail that will be sweet .

Breathless...I don't know if we've chosen a meeting place yet.  Either Rodman dam or Eurika dam...it's about a 4-5 hour trip either way.  There are directions to Eurika on the first page of this post:

Never been to Rodman, but it's not far from Eurika.  I'm headed up Friday night, so you're welcome to follow, but I'm staying at my parents which is about 45 minutes south of the ride.

OR, give me one of those high performance corvettes you build, and I'll rent a limo and drive you there personally  ;)

p.s. I pass one of your truck/trailers fairly often on stirling road in davie...nice rig you got there.

Thanks for the compliment on our rig and Corvettes. I think I will try to make the ride. I have a motorhome that I can stay in, do you think we can park it in that area.

can't help you with that...never stayed overnight up there.  there's a bunch of people on the site that can help with that.  you probably won't be able to stay at the parking area for Eurika though,

Directions from I75.
  Get off exit 358 go east to hwy301, go north on 301 to hyw 329 look for the sign that says Sparr there is a Kangaroo gas station on the corner, turn right. Take 329 into Sparr there is a flashing red light, that is hyw200, go straight through light and follow that road until it dead ends into hyw316 turn right onto 316 and that will take you to Ft. McCoy go throu Ft. McCoy and you will cross a BIG TALL bridge. Take the first left after the bridge onto N.E. 160th then about 1/2 to 1 mile down turn left onto 157th and you're there.
  These are the directions I posted for the Eureka ride last weekend and everyone made it there.

Those are the directions to Eureka. I like it better than Rodman.

New here, but like what I see so far. I have two boys, but so far only one quad, trx 90. If I get my 4yo old a 50 would this ride be to much for a beginner? He has always riden with me before.....

Trying to sell my rice bike so I can get two quads 50 and 300.

My 4yr. old will be on a 50 and I'm leading the trail ride so bring em. I'll be leading on a yfz riding in first and maybe second gear and my wife will probably be at the back on the Rhino. When we are at the pit at the beginning and end of the day the older more experienced kids and dads can cut loose but my goal for this ride is to make it fun for everyone.

Chillin is a great leader on the trail. We have a great system down to assure every one is safe and has a great time. 

hey chillin. have we come up with a time to meet yet.and what do you think is the best way to handle the food.we are bringing one ute with us so we can carry in alot more food this time.and it doesnt sound like we are going to need gas. my little nephew cant wait..he has called 3 times to make sure he has what he needs..

I'll take care of the food ( basic bbq stuff, chicken, dogs, burgers) if you can carry a cooler you can bring some drinks. If we meet at Eureka at 9 the kids could ride there for a while. It is probably an hour ride to my place so if we head that way by 10 we would be there by 11-11:30 then fire up the grill and eat by 1:00 then head back out on the trail. Sound like a plan?

Oh yea thats sounds like the plan, After the bbq lets go to the other secret pit.

hey chillin maybe we need to ask for a basic head count to get an idea what we will need..we will have 4 ,3 adults and one child under 12.

We have a total of three, 2 adults and 1 child

I figure by the first of next week those that can or cant go will know for sure by then and we'll tally them up and make a trip to Sams. Bigworm that secret pit is probably not a good place to go anymore, kinda risky. If you want to do that kind of riding PM me your # I may go somewhere like that this Sat.

Sorry cant ride this weekend have been riding last 3 weekends and need to do some honeydues. 

Its getting closer. I'll update the list tonight. So if anyone else is joining in or backing out let me know.

   rednek, from kissimee just go to I75 and then follow these directions. It takes me 2 1/2 hrs from exit 229 if the traffic is flowing. You better get up early ;D

Bigworm are Chuck and Jayz coming? I haven't heard anything from backinsaddle in a while. Might be a small group but we are gonna have big fun. I'm headed up Fri. around noon
 

We have been counting down the days,  can't wait until Saturday morning. 

Yee haw, Just got the OK from the big boss. Can't wait to meet everyone! Is any one bringing cookies kinda stuff for the BBQ? That will be one of the things I will bring. Unfortunately, we may not be coming.  We got hit pretty hard by the hurricane.  The neighborhood is a mess.  Fortunately family and I are fine, and we're in our home and dry, but we lost a lot of shingles.  Just finished putting plastic down on mine and four of my neighbors roofs.  Most of our trees are down or have to come down.  We just got power back a few hours ago.  All of my fence is down.  Soooo, I have a lot of work to do around the house.  I was thinking about coming anyway, but I won't make a decision till Friday after I see how much I get done tomorrow and what work requires of me as we've been closed all week.  Lord knows the family could use a break.  I'll either post on Friday, or I'll just see you all at the ride if we make it.

I know I promised to bring a cooler full of drinks, but I'm not going to get a chance to get out for anything.  We'll probably bring to eat whatever my mom let's me raid from her fridge, and whatever drinks we can get along the way. 

Chillin, jayz400 is comming but chuck said yesterday he is not. Jayz400 wants to know what he can bring chips etc.

Thats Funny.... Shoot we had planned on being there until I got the Reports Card today for my oldest. It sux but I got to bail on ya brother. being a dad comes first and failing grades are not cutting it. 2 D's and a F in Math.

 If anyone gets lost or is running late or has any questions my cell # is 941-812-2822. I'm leaving home Fri. around 1pm, once I get up in the forest the cell service is iffy. Leave a message, then when it goes through I'll climb a tree and call you back.

Some of you know where my place is. If you want to drop off anything that you cant carry(coolers, snacks, whatever) bring it on down. I'm going to trailer our machines to the pit so that we can start and end the ride with everyone. I'll probably leave the house at 8:30.
  I have most of the food covered ( burgers, dogs, chicken, tater salad, beans,slaw)  if anyone wants to bring chips, deserts, drinks, etc. that would be great. We'll either have way too much or not enough. You never really know how many will show.

We'll be there Sat morn 1 adult (Polaris 700), 2 kids atv's (Redcat 150 & Redcat 50).  My wife will be driving our truck from the pit to your house with our youngest if that's ok. We will bring chips and some drinks.   If you could PM me with directions from the pit to your house so I can mapquest them for my wife it would be great.  Thanks Jeff.

No mapquest needed. My place is about 5 miles down the road from the pit, right on the road. Its easy to find, its like 3 houses (trailers) ;D down from the Pig Pen Saloon but before the trailer with all the confederit flags. Jeff Foxworthy probably got most of his redneck jokes from this area ;D. The trail through the woods is about 11 to 12 miles.

I made it back from Tn. yesterday. I will concentrate on bottled water, cookies and sodas. I always carry a tool box, tow strap and I will have a 6 gal. reserve gas can along as well. The Rhyno will be loaded so we'll just meet you at the pit. I'll be out of Kissimmee by 0630 at the latest.

Friar jeff, since you wife is going to drive to chillins if we can load your truck up with the stuff for the bbq this will help out cause people will have to drive to chillins and back to dam and then after ride drive back to chillins to pick up their coolers and stuff.Let us know and thank you ;)

We're definitely not coming.  Our office opened today.  Had we stayed closed, I could have finished up all my post-Wilma cleanup today and then we were planning on heading up tonight.  Oh well, next trip...hope you all have a great time, wish we could have made it.

how long are we going? i mean for the regular eurika rides, we went about 70-80 miles right? i really dont think that the little kids can make that. do u?  :P

Yep, could use the weekend away, plus I would finally have a chance to hang out with everyone for a bit and bs while the kids ran around.  Oh well, I won't miss the next kids ride...when is it scheduled???

Decided to come home tonight instead of tomorrow, have business to take care of. Too tired to put pics up tonight, I'll do it in the A.M.
