Title: Re: Brake pads Post by: yunt2ride on September 30, 2005, 04:32:10 PM Maybe slow down when you know that you are gonna have to stop and they may last longer. Let the transmission slow the quad down for you some.
Title: Re: Brake pads Post by: Nightbreed on September 30, 2005, 07:31:07 PM You said you ride in a bit of mud. That will do your pads in quickly. On a wet MX track I have wasted a set of pads in one night before.
You can also look into getting a better compound pad. There are some brands out there that will last longer than the cheaper pads. Mike Mike- In your opinion, who makes the best pads for, say, an '05 Eiger ;)? Title: Re: Brake pads Post by: Nightbreed on September 30, 2005, 11:53:11 PM ceramic pads are the next choice for me. "SBS" ceramic are a very good choice. Title: Re: Brake pads Post by: 96 warrior on October 01, 2005, 12:33:01 PM i have tried the severe duty pads i didnt think they lasted that much longer
and i would say more than a bit of mud lol Title: Re: Brake pads Post by: Truegrit on October 02, 2005, 08:53:39 PM I got just over 300 miles out of my stock pads on my '05. But it lives in the water and mud. Now I am using EBC Severe Duty. Just put them on So not sure How long they'll hold up. But from my past quads (utilities) 8-9 months is all I get out of most any brand. The EBC SD seem to hold up the best for me in the past.
