Title: Kawasaki 80
Post by: wjftsf on September 23, 2005, 06:24:14 PM
My neighbor has a little Kawasaki 80 that he bought for his daughter. He wants to bump it up a little but cant figger out how. Any thought on how to get a little more out of it? My sons 50 will smoke her so I know there has to be some sort of adjustment. The throttle limiter screw is all the way out so thats not it. Thanks

I'm gonna guess it's a four wheeler, There are two restrictors. One in the exhaust, remove pipe and take out the washer right at the inlet. Two remove the throttle cable from the top of the carb., and remove the slide from the cable & remove the spacer. reassemble and go spank that 50. Jason

if thats not enough, and it should be, there is more (cheap, almost free) power to be had if you dont mind tearing into it

Yeah sorry, its a 4 wheeler  :-[
I know that he did take the cable out one time and took out the gold spacer. He had more throttle movement but the thing really sputtered. He stuck it back together and its running ok but doesnt seem to run as well now. I'll print out youre suggestions and give em to him and see what happens. Thanks!

There is a restrictor in the exhaust too. unbolt the exhaust from the cylinder and remover the restrictor, it looks like a washer. Also has the air filter EVER been cleaned and properly oiled? I ask this because I know someone that had an lt80 for over a year and said it was not trunning right, when I asked about cleaning the air filter he didnt even know where it was or how to clean and OIL it.
