Title: imusicshare.com
Post by: Da_Mtg_Man on September 14, 2005, 07:20:48 AM
Is anyone familiar with this site? My daughter usually uses Walmart.com for downloading music and it's around .85 per song. imusicshare.com says it's 1.00 a month. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

it takes some work to learn the process, but once you learn, you can get about anything you want for free, and safe.

safe meaning,,,not a P2P network.

when i got my girlfriend an mp3 player I wanted a cheap way for her to get legal music. I chose an iRiver player that is compatible with "napster to go" It is $15/month and has all the songs you could ever want plus some. It allows you to send the songs to the MP3 player with a limited license, when that license expires you hook it up to the comp and napster renews the license for as long as your $15 membership is active. For my self I use limewire and bit torrent

Be careful with limewire because it put a whole buntch of programs and viruses on my comp because of the pop-ups!

LimeWire = Spyware/Adware. That's why I use Torrents.

The programs that you pay for won't do that.... as much.... but it will still happen. What do expect when you are downloading files from other people's computers. The free programs are getting paid for through pop up adds.

NOT ME!  I run Mac OS X!  much much much more security than windoze. ill tell you what though since you wanted to know about imusicshare.com.  $1.00 a month doesnt sound like its legit, unless you hear from someone here that says it is.  there must be some catch.  it must not be legal because $1.00 for 1 song on iTunes...but $1.00/month for unlimited downloads for that month?

theres plenty of free P2P programs.  i'd say 99% of them are filled with crap.  torrent is the best way for anything especially large files.

Gasp!

need the client: http://azureus.sourceforge.net/ (Mac and Windoze!)

once you have the client you go to one of the following sites and download the .torrent file, then you open the .torrent file with azureus (or any other bit torrent client of your choice)

torrent sites:
i wont give exact links but ill give you names (hint: google)

torrentspy (<-- RL400 recommended), thepiratebay, bitenova, torrentreactor

if you think this shouldnt be on here just delete my post.

have fun,

I browse this website, and many others using Ares. I have about 40 songs on this computer and not one has gave me a problem. No pop ups... Ever..

its not the songs on your computer.  ive got just under 2,000 songs and i never have popups.  its the viruses/adware/spyware that cause the popups.  and if you use mozilla firefox (http://getfirefox.com) you should NEVER see popups.  adware on your computer will only popup in internet explorer.  so if iexplorer.exe isnt running in your "Processes" window you shouldnt get popups from adware.  but sometimes they will open iexplorer.

internet explorer should have never been created, its probably the most unsafe every-day program that you can use on a computer.

It's the greatest thing since sliced bread. You can find anything you want including songs. The easiest and fastest client I found is Bit Lord. The best place I've found for files is SuprNova's b@stard child www.mininova.org
