Title: Do-It-Yourself Oil Refinery Post by: Asphaltdragon on September 01, 2005, 06:47:47 PM Well as most of you know I'm not the type to sit around and wait for someone to take the lead. With that in mind, I am proud to announce the Asphaltdragon "Do-It-Yourself Oil Refinery". That's right! No more worries about were your next tank of petrol (gas) will come from.

But seriously, I happened to be watching a program this morning that featured a guy who make whats called Biodiesel. So what I was joking about yesterdday is actually possible. He used new or used vegetable oil to make a fuel that can be burned in a diesel engine! Do a google search on biodiesel Title: Re: Do-It-Yourself Oil Refinery Post by: TRX350_On_The_Rack on September 02, 2005, 10:03:45 AM I built one of those years ago and sold it to Saudis for $50.00. I'm beginning to think I got ripped :)
Title: Re: Do-It-Yourself Oil Refinery Post by: TRX450R_Racer on September 02, 2005, 11:35:24 AM http://www.greasecar.com/ Check it out. Make your diesel run on vegitable oil.
Title: Re: Do-It-Yourself Oil Refinery Post by: stump66 on September 02, 2005, 01:37:59 PM There are a few places you can get the equipment to make diesel from vege oil. It was on Trucks a few weeks ago.
http://journeytoforever.org/biodiesel_make.html http://www.green-trust.org/biodiesel.htm http://www.survivalunlimited.com/biodiesel.htm http://www.veggies.org.uk/biodies.htm I think Stacie on trucks said that after the equip was paid for it worked out to be like a buc a gallon. I am not sure if that was including the chemicals you have to add or not. The neet thing is allot of places ,resturants and such will give or pay you to dispose of the old oil. :N |
