Title: Lord help the Gulf coast Folks!!
Post by: stump66 on August 29, 2005, 12:54:15 PM
Ever since going through Andrew I and then the three hits last year I get fixated on these storms. It lloks like they may have got extremely lucky with the tidal searge but there are still allot of films to see of devistation. They need to be in our prayers. I'm sure we were in there's last season.  :-\

Dont forget though... this storm sounds like it will be affecting the entire US. All those oil rigs we have out in the Gulf cant be manned for a little while due to the storm... so guess what... even higher gas prices (they are saying .20-.30 a gallon more). Lets just hope the big man taps into some reserves ASAP.

This just shows how much we need more off-shore drilling rigs on the other coasts... so many are centralized in the Gulf... just where so many hurricanes like to play, lol.

Thanks for bringing the Lord and prayer into this.  He is the only one that can help.   :)  I have a friend that has family in Pickiun(SP), Mississippi, 10 mins from Biloxi.  I have been praying for my friend and her heartaches for her family member that is still unaccounted for and well as the the family that is still missing.  God Bless!!!

Ok, I have just heard one of the saddest stories I think I have ever heard in my life. I have no idea how I would react if I was in this same situation with Scooter... would probably have a few suicidal tendencies to say the least.

A man and his wife were in thier home when the storm/floods came through. She was hanging on to him as he was trying to pull her to a safer spot (the walls of thier home were taken down by the wind/water). She told him that she couldnt hang on any longer and for him to take care of thier kids and grandkids... then was swept out of the house by the flood waters.  :'( :'( :'(

Ok, I dont usually get to teary eyed or anything, but when I think about being in that situation myself, I cant help but get a bit on the emotional side. My prayers are definately with all the people trapt in the area (even though they had pleanty of warning to LEAVE). I've heard a few other stories about people being trapped in thier attics and such... no one needs to go through that... and to think, it's still the "beginning" of hurricane season  ???

I was here too for Andrew....never been so scared in all my life.  I truly pray for those people.....it's so sad.   :'(

i was also here for andrew but was in hialeah. so just alot of wind and rain for me. but after going through katrina and being in the eye i dont mess around with them anymore. katrina was  a cat1 so no big deal but i cant imagine the moster that went in through louisiana/mississippi.
in that case i would head the warning and get out of dodge.

Here is my heartache with the ordeal, We have sustained a major natural disaster and not a single country is stepping up to help us in our time of need. They in turn will consider us greedy and uncaring when we dont help them.
Oneway in my opinion.  They had about 50 Jacksonville area fire/rescue members depart for the area today to lend a hand.

That's not completely true.... I was in Luxembourgh this past month and it was brought up about being from Florida and the hurricanes from last year.  The person from the American embassy said she opened up the mail and it had a $50 check in it requesting to be sent to help
out in Florida.  The people of this tiny country ( about Size
of polk county) Are SUPER America backers.. we saved their country in WW II from Germany and they haven't
forgotten it.  You go to the small villiages and you see shrines to named deceased GI's that passed saving or protecting the villiage.  It really is refreshing seeing this
when we are used to the other part....

I was in eye of hurricane andrew long time in homestead.I know this very sad it just sounds like movie twister in late begining movie.I feel very sorry for  all those people got hit  with this hurricane and the weather man was right about leves in lake bust it and water is raising every hour and city is sinking
matter hours even untill night falls and every in morning will be dead and trap.It almost sounds like moive titanic without freeze water and some will get suck down into missppi river.I have heard on fox news they reported alot dead bodys floating down in canel on canel st in new orleans. That was early today.I know alot poor people didn't got warning if they hadn't any radio or tv.Well if water is flooding in new orleans i'll got on anying boat or raft or on one of thoses cargo ships and oil tankers. That been my best bet.

 >:(  :cursing.gif
 :banghead.gif   :F :gr :gh
And mr. bush came on tv today.he should went to new orleans right way
not making some dumb speach  :K on tv and talking at sametime and people are dieing :Dead.gif in flood waters in new orleans and water is raising :gh .And he could delay it for  untill next week :X .I think the mayor of new orleans should send army of buses and got  the people out of city before  hurricaine hit.And now they are traped in superdome and thousands can die in there  due raising waters.

I bet next few days will see wind damage where eye hit.

the good thing about i got my new noaa weather just in time
the other day.they sell them at lowies and walmarts and it's a midland
very good radio.

I hope people in gulf coast states I hope you all are okay
and atvs  clubs should go help theses people.  :drive.gif  :H  :)

thanks,

just as i was reading this i looked up on the TV and that man was on telling his story. The reporter started cryin and it was very saddening to watch.  I just keep praying for these ppl, i hope things can get back to normal soon.

I was also thinking about these looters.  I understand the ppl in the grocery store and those taking the essentials for living. It is a very bad time and is pretty much everyman for himself. On the other hand  if you are out right now and taking TV's and stereos and clothes and stuff like that, you should be shot.

Saw on one post where she was speaking about evacuating. Remember, just b/c we may have had the means to leave, not all of our American brothers and sisters have those same means. No transportation and no money = being stuck. It's a sad situation.

I was watching Larry King live and a woman called to tell about her brother that was trapped inside of his attic and needed someone to get him out b/f the water rises over the house. Larry King brushed her off and didn't even try and get any info to save her brother. He cut her off and began asking the Mayor questions. Once she answered those ?'s she asked if the lady could give the producers the address of her brother so that they could try and save him ;). But apparently she was already hung up on. Larry King then asked for the woman to call back and give that info. I lost alot of respect for him after that >:(.

Thanks for bringing the Lord and prayer into this.  He is the only one that can help.   :)  ....  God Bless!!!

I really don't think that God (if there ever were such a thing) could help in this sitution. It is up to fellow human beings  to help each other out. Instead of wishing and hoping and praying that the "LORD" help those in need..why don't you help the people out yourself with donations or volunteering. I am heading up that way next week to offer my skills and the services of my company.

Do you really think that is there really was such a thing as a 'GOD" that he would let all this carnage occur? People die?

Think about it.

why are some close minded indiviuals turning this natural disaster in to a politcal ordeal. as if there is not enough drama. Whether President Bush was on vacation or in the White House or standing in the path of the Hurricane what differrence is it going to make. what is done is done. No amount of political influnce  or act of congress would have turned that hurricane around or prevented the damage.  Some folks have got some serious intercranial erectus to think other wise
Stangboy you say "THINK ABOUT IT", let me encourage you to do the same thing.
For Lack of an Argument, (for now anyway). Your are entitled to your opinion.

Jhn 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved

PAY ATTENTION TO THE NEXT VERSE
PAY ATTENTION TO THE NEXT VERSE

Jhn 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Jhn 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

I dont know about you but the thought of HELL should scare just about anyone. Then again there are exceptions.

Then again we have visited this argument before, especially when your created the phoney screen name of GAYDIRT in a past thread. move on dont hi-jack the post with your anitchrist beliefs stick to the topic

Now I was watching the NEWS this morning and looking at all this distruction and was just blown away (pun not intended) by the damage. If it's the hand of God or hand of a person that helps these people out, then so be it.

This is worst hurricane damage I have ever seen since hurricaine andrew on tv
And this one had alot water and wind.

:'( Well I know alot people have to rebuild it's  going be long time rebuild all that damage. It took 3years  rebuild homestead when andrew hit there and my dads uncle use to work at turkey pt powerplant and they read wind meters up to 225mph with winds.

 >:( Those people who got hit with katrina they should
had free  hotel rooms in lake city for 6months.  :'( I do believe alot
people are dead and news people are telling truth and county
people are trying hide it.like what they did in andrew.

see my dad was working with phone lines when andrew hit down there
and he saw national guards down there and pull dead body bags down in narja lakes  where trailer parks at and national guard said they were
about 300 dead bodys and at work he got dead body report and they where over 400 dead and my dad thinks if was near 2500 die or more. And south FLA news media kept it hidden  for years down there and they hidden deadbodyies in school storm sheters and during time when people
were cleaning aftermath. But I was there down there for 10days.

well that is truth what happen down there. My dad use to be navy for 12years and he got out during march 1992 before 6months moving to
homstead.

They are showing aftermath of katrina
this to 4graders in schools in live oak
since yestday and that is crazy.Even with all
body bags that is even crazy showing death
to people.I can see it for highschool for that.

We might see movie on this one soon.

Well people don't watch so much news
on it just watch during day and take breaks for tv
on news. This crap can give you nightmares for rest of
your life.Thats what happen  on first day of andrew and I
had alot nightmares of it and even 2years later i had dreams
in southern broward county where my house at and had five tornados
in straight line and rip walls down into frames and showing whole house naked. But that dream never came true. But I'm always afraid
of wind  untill this day i  and it's only when I go to car washs and when they had big blow dryers looks like almost weeder blowers.thats
how strong hurricane andrew was and even katrina where mS got hit with eye. Then you  will understand where i'm coming from it's like scar memory
for of your life.But I'm always ready next hurricane cat2 cat3 cat4 cat5
to ourun from the next time i see one. :)

Well I hope your family members are okay
god bless to them all.I hope they all get out of there soon.

thanks,
amhighlander :)

You don't have to have a particular "god" Lord" or enity to pray. But you must be a tad on the immature side to think that there isn't a higher or greater power in control of what happens. This quadmire of life and death didn't just form out of a petree dish on some aliens lab table. But you believe what you will and Myself and many others will pray that your sole might just find YOUR higher power. ;)
