Title: Hydration Systems Post by: Eruption on January 08, 2005, 04:21:49 AM My girlfriend and I recieved new Camelbaks for X-mas and we was wondering how many riders use these. I have an old one that I used mainly for mountain biking and it worked great but I only used it a couple times while riding the quad. If you use one let us know which kind you have and how you like it. Thanks!
Title: Re: Hydration Systems Post by: Thrasher on January 08, 2005, 04:40:19 AM I have a couple, don't use them as much as I used too now that I have storage on my quad and can easily carry a couple small coolers now.
Title: Re: Hydration Systems Post by: Da_Mtg_Man on January 08, 2005, 04:47:45 AM My family all has them, I have the one from Walmart, It was about $20-$25 and holds all kinds of things. I freeze mine the night before that way I have nice cold water all day. ;)
Title: Re: Hydration Systems Post by: Thrasher on January 08, 2005, 05:10:08 AM I did buy a second bladder for mine as well, and the pack from wal-mart can hold an extra one with all the space. in the summer it's great, freeze one and just have the other cold. while the one thaws it keeps the other cold. when the first is empty, the second will have thawed ..
Title: Re: Hydration Systems Post by: tampaboy813 on January 08, 2005, 05:16:41 AM I love mine....when I ride with friends there all blah cause they dont have any thing to drink....and I do...
Title: Re: Hydration Systems Post by: big-daddy on January 08, 2005, 05:19:32 AM I also have one from wal-mart. my son is only 7 years old and the one from wal-mart is to big for him, you can buy one from bell that fits kids
Title: Re: Hydration Systems Post by: T2 on January 08, 2005, 07:31:37 AM I bought mine from the bike shop when I used to mountainbike, and now I use it for my quad. Like Thrasher said he don't use as much when you have a 4x4 bike. But when you are on a sport bike your space is limited and it works perfect to store stuff. The brand I have is the Camelbak Mule.
Title: Re: Hydration Systems Post by: Honda328i on January 08, 2005, 08:13:49 PM I always ride with mine, It's great! I got it from my wife last year for my birthday. It works a whole lot better than my cooler incident on the LMK ride weekend. ;D ;D Great for storage and it makes for a real quick stop rather than fooling around with a cooler. Mine is made by "outdoor products".
Title: Re: Hydration Systems Post by: atvtrailer on January 08, 2005, 08:20:20 PM i got 2 from walmart, they work fine and they have alot of storage, i havnt ever gone on a trail ride or anything more than like an hour so i havnt needed to ride with it yet but i bring it incase usually.
Title: Re: Hydration Systems Post by: Hollywood on January 09, 2005, 11:48:45 PM I got a Thor 70oz. LE from RockyMountain that I use everytime I ride. Deffinately one of my better investments ;D Also picked up a small hiking/biking backback from wal-mart for another 10 bucks that has an inner pocket for the bladder and I just swap the bladder out of the Thor pack into it for longer rides when I need more pockets for storage.
Title: Re: Hydration Systems Post by: Ida_Mann on January 10, 2005, 06:31:51 AM I have one that I haven't used for a while because I got the rack on the front of my quad so I got a small cooler because I like to go on long rides(usually 5-8 hours) and I don't like carrying anything on my back.
Id@ Title: Re: Hydration Systems Post by: Chuck_Norris on January 10, 2005, 07:46:17 PM I was told by the fellas on YFZ Central that the company Camel back actually is against ATV related activites(tree Huggers) I use an off brand hydration pack for that reason. we get enough negativity.
Title: Re: Hydration Systems Post by: Reefer650 on May 12, 2005, 06:21:16 PM I cant afford one there way out of my budget

Title: Re: Hydration Systems Post by: Chuck_Norris on May 13, 2005, 12:30:31 PM Quote I cant afford one there way out of my budget THEY ARE ABOUT $30.00. Title: Re: Hydration Systems Post by: gery350 on May 13, 2005, 01:04:52 PM got one-walmart$20.00(never use it though)

Title: Re: Hydration Systems Post by: Yamaha72 on May 16, 2005, 01:32:34 PM I have a camelbak and it is a lifesaver out on the trails when there is not a drink in sight. The only thing that sux is that as soon as you take a sip all your friends flood over to you asking for some ???

My wife has the Camelbak brand. But for my self I have the O'Neal brand my sister bought it for me as A gift.I think that one goes for about $60 bucks. Its nice but I don't like the mouth piece. I perfer the mouth piece on the Camelbak better. I'm going to try to replace It with a Camelbak mouth piece.

Id@ I agree with ida I would rather ride with nothing on my back since it restricts the air from cooling your back and you sweat more but when its 90 degrees out and you are riding hard water is a must and a waterpak is better than installing a rack on a sport quad to me. Title: Re: Hydration Systems Post by: Honda328i on May 17, 2005, 09:10:39 AM Mine is a "Outdoor Products" brand my wife bought at Target. I hate to ride without it because it is so easy to get a quick sip. When you ride with Dreth or Hollywood, there's no time to stop, take off your helmet, gloves, etc to open up a cooler or otherwise. ;D
It did get a small leak during the Rodman cleanup, so I tossed it in the woods. :P J/K. Actually, I sent it back under warranty and they sent me back a replacement in 4 days!! Good customer service. Title: Re: Hydration Systems Post by: TRX350_On_The_Rack on May 17, 2005, 09:19:59 AM These things look like they would be great for drinks. I've been looking for something to hold my Captain's. ;D
Title: Re: Hydration Systems Post by: Axo on May 19, 2005, 06:00:28 AM I have a Camel Back. The Bladder just started leaking after 4-5years. I use it all the time. I fill the bladder with ice and then top it off with water. Nothing like having a cold drink when you are a couple of miles from the truck. ;D I will check out the ones from Target or Walmart. A friend of mine was mountain biking and went over his bars on a steep drop off and landed flat on his back. He fell about 20 feet. He broke 3 ribs and puntured his lung. He was wearing a Camel Back. He would probably be paralyzed if it wasn't for his Camel Back!
Title: Re: Hydration Systems Post by: atvdad6 on May 19, 2005, 10:11:19 AM Sams sells a hydration system for about $20.00. The mouth piece is stiff, but can be switched to a camelback which is much more com. Voice of experiencefortable. If you do this , you need to be sure and secure it w/ a zip tie. The main thing to look for is one w/ a large opening wc/ allows you to add ice easily. All 3 of my kids have them. I have been using mine for 2 yrs. It is also a great plase to store your cell ph. It keeps it out of the water and mudVoice of experience here. ha ha
