Title: Question about selling my ATV
Post by: Tampa400EX on August 17, 2005, 08:05:07 PM
I was wondering what a reasonable asking price for a 6 month old 2004 Yellow 400 EX with a trailer would be? The bike was bought brand new in feb. of 05'. Also does anyone know what Honda's policy is on tranferring a loan to someone else to be able to take over payments? Thank you very much!

I would say that it depends on how much of the loan is left.

I don't know if they will let you transfer payments to someone else or not. If they bought it off of you and then they decided not to pay you would get in trouble most likely.

yeah, whatever you do,,,,don't trust people on that,,,,make sure your liability is over with on that loan if you sell it to someone.

I took payments on my first car that I sold to a "friend", he was supposed to give me half when he got the car, and half about 2 weeks later,,,,,,2 weeks came and went, when I went to collect at his house, he had traded the car in because he dropped the transmission on 17-92 and wouldn't pay me.

of course, it was only $200, but it still burns me.

As to the payments I was talking about transfering the loan thru Honda to the new buyers name, basically taking over payments. That way the loan will be in thier name and they continue off where I was at.

Look on your payment book for a phone # call and have whoever is looking to buy give them their info, Just like qualifing for a loan @ the dealership. If they are approved then follow instructions from the loan institution.

They could also tell you the fair market value of your A.T.V

I don't think they will transfer a loan.  You actually sell the machine to a new person at the amount remaining on the loan, and they get a new loan at that amount (not including any fees, if any).
