Title: Kid Blaster Owners.....
Post by: SlowestYfz450 on August 10, 2005, 01:13:36 PM
If you are a young adult/ kid and own a blaster please list your mods. If you have put an extensive amount of money into the bike please do not respond. I have good reason for this post.

I have a 2001 blaster, and I'm 16.  I've got about $1000 in engine related mods, and maybe like $200 in other things.

Do you plan to keep the blaster or sell it?

My blaster will be in next weeks cycle trader.  :-\  I ALWAYS thought that I would always keep it, that I could modify it to do what I wanted out of it.  Well, I put about a $1000 in for power producing mods, and I'm preety happy with the power, and it's still a 200 with stock reeds, timing, and running on 93, so there's deffinitely room for more power.  The thing is the size is just too small, no way around it.  I was riding at the Seminole track back in May, and I was coming around a turn, which I had to slow down to like 5 mph to do, and that caused me to not have enough speed down the straight, and I cased a double and broke my collar bone.  I had already cleared the jump 3 times, but the 4th I didn't go far enough.  Sure some of it is my fault, but the dang bike can't corner faster than 10 mph.  So the blaster is for sale for $2000, and I'm looking for a two stroke MX dirtbike, as you can see in my sig.  Way more bang for the buck, no matter how much I liked that blaster, and I did like it.  Ha, I once thought I'd never ever sell it, like at the begining of this year I thought that.  :P

i only put about 700 into the motor on my 2004 blaster and at okeechobee i never left 3rd and 4th gear, that bike corned pretty darn good. correct tires, gearing, and knowledge gets you far, a little suspension work helped too. Well are there any other kids out there that have blasters, they used to be so popular for smaller people and women.
