That could have been pretty bad…. That is why you don’t put dynos on the back of trailers.

i thought it wasnt possible to smoke the tires on a dyno machine

It was a model A..........

Question.....Did they restrap it down to see what the HP rating was because it says the straps had melted and he did not get on it very hard before they broke? It says 1200 plus HP. Why shouldn't it say exactly what the rating was.

That is not the first time I have seen a vehicle of such power over power a dyno. you develop  more torque than the dyno can keep up with. Turbo Cars are real prone to this.
