Title: horsepower mods? Post by: WAKORB on July 19, 2005, 09:11:14 PM With me being new and still learning I have many questions and so do a lot of newbs on this site. I was wondering if we cant put together a list of mods, in the order of power gained (not exact power gained because brands vary) I would rather not talk brands but more so the mod itself. Also somewhere say whether it is a mod just for 2 vs. 4 stroke because many mods will be the same for both. Please explain the mod mentioned in great detail. Any disputes will be polled. Also say the cost range. Please quote the thought you may have to add to any existing post. Please NO tweaky mods like gearing. I will post a new list at he end of this week to see where we are. Please help me in my quest to help newbs on this site.

2.REEDS [2 STROKE] a.)accelerates air mixture insuring increased horsepower 3.MAIN JET [2&4 STROKE] a.)increases fule flow in carb 4.AIR INTAKE [2&4 STROKE] a.)added air box lid holes with prescreen filter to alow more air b.) run no air box lid (not recomened) use prescreen filter bag c.)two-stage foam air filter this is only a start please fill in the blanks! Port work from atp performance will give similar results on a 2 banger when properly jetted Big bore kits will do wonders for either Jetting either is truely the first step on either ..talk to Chuck Norris about this onre ..also www.billspipes.com Learn to jet it properly and you will be very proud of you gained knowledge and the finished product will functio much better " mileage and performance . Clutch kits work great on either machine . Title: Re: horsepower mods? Title: Re: horsepower mods? Post by: WAKORB on July 20, 2005, 05:40:03 PM if you did drop a tooth on the front sprocket to gain torque you will be shifting thru the gears more rapidly to counteract this could you get a new cdi rev box that will allow you to increase your rpms by say 6 to 700 from stock to not have to sh*t as rapidly?
Title: Re: horsepower mods? Post by: Old_School on July 22, 2005, 02:24:38 PM Higher compression head.
This will give you more power throughout the powerband. Too high of compression and a higher octane is needed. But good for both 2 and 4 strokes. But 4 strokes may have to change out the piston due to they have valves. -Mark Title: Re: horsepower mods? Post by: WAKORB on July 24, 2005, 07:45:28 PM Higher compression head. Won’t this increase the chance of detonation? Does timing have to be changed? Are airflow mods required?also will I need a new higher prfomance crank? |
