Title: Re: How often do you change oil Post by: TRX450R_Racer on July 16, 2005, 11:23:52 PM My quad only holds 600cc in the transmission and 800cc in the engine, so it gets dirty fast. I change the oil every time I ride. I change the filter every other time I change the oil.

Title: Re: How often do you change oil Post by: WAKORB on July 18, 2005, 07:40:42 PM how about the lube in the crank case how often do you change it. is there any lube better than another for this? in my case a 2005 yamaha blaster
Title: Re: How often do you change oil Post by: Toomey on July 18, 2005, 09:57:43 PM I have a blaster, and I change it after 3 or 4 rides. A regular wet clutch type motorcycle motor oil will work, and also like a 75w-80 or something close to that I use.
Title: Re: How often do you change oil Post by: qt314nfla on July 18, 2005, 11:06:42 PM I change mine 2-4 times every time I sink my quad. Do these extra changes make up for the time in between....LOL! J/K. But really I only change it after sinking the quad, so it gets changed quite often.

That is CRAZY. In 100 hours it will be clogged. I change it every ride. Title: Re: How often do you change oil Post by: dreth on July 19, 2005, 09:30:27 PM im with trx450r_racer! every ride unless im on vacation, then it can wait till i get home ;)

That is CRAZY. In 100 hours it will be clogged. I change it every ride. I'm with ya on that, I don't think they accounted for that fine Florida dust. Staying with the oiled filter though, K&N is a good name, but in FL the sand is too small. Title: Re: How often do you change oil Post by: Southern4x4 on July 20, 2005, 04:01:45 PM When ever I feel like it needs to be changed.
Title: Re: How often do you change oil Post by: LT-R450ApK on September 02, 2005, 07:32:43 PM Since I've been riding 4-strokes ever 3'rd ride or 1 months"even if it just sits in the garage" everyride is a bit over kill even if your only race with it 4-strokes will not break down that oil that fast just my 2cent and ways, but the air filter is every ride
Title: Re: How often do you change oil Post by: Nightbreed on September 03, 2005, 12:00:15 AM If you all would buy two strokes, you would have to change half the oil and as everyone says they break down so often you can just change the oil with every rebuild. LOL ;D
Change it after every long weekend of riding. Oil is cheap, rebuilding engines and replacing clutches is not. Mike Title: Re: How often do you change oil Post by: klutchbuster400 on September 03, 2005, 12:08:50 AM its an 01, changing the oil for the first time this weekend :-*
