You can buy a 3 day pass at the trail heads. Cash. Or you can get them at the Pittman welcome center on 19 in Altoona. You can also get them at the Rangers station Mon.- Fri. Your atv or utv must be registered if you are from Florida. Also carry a copy of your registration and have a valid drivers lic.
If there is anything I missed ? Go west to US19. If you want the north trails at Salt Springs, then go north on US 19 about 22 miles to the TH on US 19. It's on the left when you're heading north. Some riders don't like that TH cause it takes you into the purple section of the trails which are the most dangerous trails up there. They are narrow and the reason that they are dangerous is because some riders go way too fast and if you meet them you may have a head on collision. That's what happened to my wife. If you don't want that TH, go another 5.5 miles north then left 3 or 4 miles to the Rodman Dam TH. I'm not familiar with this TH. I go to the TH off of Hwy 316 that brings you into the brown section of the trails. From the US40 and US19 intersection, go north 16 miles to the north side of Salt Springs, then take 316 to the left 8 more miles and the TH will be on the right. Keep an eye out or you might miss it. If you want to go to the Centennial Trail, then at the US40 and US19 intersection, stay on US 40 for 7 more miles and the TH will be on your left. Hope this helps you out. IE frame is extended, foot pegs for rider and grab handles for passenger to hang on to.
