Title: Grizzly carnage, Rhino to the rescue! Post by: Ole Nasty on September 07, 2013, 07:22:01 PM Went out to Shindler today and had a horrible time. Trees were down all over the place blocking trails and it was WAY flooded. Had battery problems the whole time so we decided to leave then this happened about a 1/4 mile from the truck.

Gonna break them both down soon find out the total damage. 2013 has not been my year. Title: Re: Grizzly carnage, Rhino to the rescue! Post by: patches206 on September 08, 2013, 09:08:03 AM Ouch that ones going to hurt, but great idea to get it out of the woods.

Title: Re: Grizzly carnage, Rhino to the rescue! Post by: Ole Nasty on September 08, 2013, 11:03:34 AM Nope didn't make it to MM, had some family stuff come up. I'm gonna try to make it to Fat Daddy's with just the Rhino this weekend, the Grizz is gonna be out for a while.
Title: Re: Grizzly carnage, Rhino to the rescue! Post by: Crewsing on September 08, 2013, 01:24:41 PM Dang. What happened? Looks like ball joint popped out.
Title: Re: Grizzly carnage, Rhino to the rescue! Post by: Ole Nasty on September 08, 2013, 05:54:04 PM Upper and lower ball joint, bent tie rod and inner cv joint.
Title: Re: Grizzly carnage, Rhino to the rescue! Post by: proballer on September 09, 2013, 05:14:53 PM That's impressive, I've never seen both ball joints fail like that before. Mine always wear to the point that the tire has a couple inches of play in them, just had to change my uppers AGAIN!
Either run through Lake City or bring it with you to fat daddys and we can get it going in less than 30 minutes! I have everything except the cv's but who needs true 4x4 anyway, Honda's sure don't, you can 3 wheel it all weekend! Just saw the battery problems, can't help much there so that's on you, hell I can't even track down my electrical gremlin! Title: Re: Grizzly carnage, Rhino to the rescue! Post by: Ole Nasty on September 09, 2013, 06:08:01 PM I'm just gonna take my Rhino, I just ordered seat belts for the back. If I get them installed in time, the wife and kids will be along with me so I won't be doing anything too wild, lol. Although, I do have somebody coming to take a look at buying the Rhino thursday, so if that happens who knows what I'll do.
I think I'm just gonna rebuild the front of the grizzly. I need a whole new left spindle, due to a previous incident, because the steering knuckle is worn out. Upper and lower ball joints, fancy tie rods and ends and new bearings for both sides. Gonna buy a rhino brand axle too for the one I just broke. So the grizzly will be down for a while. Title: Re: Grizzly carnage, Rhino to the rescue! Post by: proballer on September 09, 2013, 06:23:32 PM Ten 4, the offer stands if you change your mind and want to ride it cause I easily have enough parts to at least get it band-aided back together!
Title: Re: Grizzly carnage, Rhino to the rescue! Post by: Ole Nasty on September 09, 2013, 06:34:43 PM Lol, I'll let you know. If this rhino sells, I may just limp the grizz out there and we'll slap some stuff together. Really would need just some ball joints, I got spare axles and I could easily straighten out my tie rod. We'll see, if the Rhino sells, I'll pay off the grizz and go SxS shopping ;D
