Title: regular 87 octane -vs- 93 high octane gas??.. Post by: cr500pro on December 19, 2012, 04:23:58 PM ...Hey guys i was wondering what brand of gas & octane , you all use on ur bikes?..i would always use (Texaco super 93 octane,),noticed my bike would consume more gas when using 93 so i switched to regular 87 & i have not noticed any decrease in power but im getting alot better gas mileage..for those in here that have used (regular87 & high 93octane gas),have u noticed any differnce in power or gas mileage on ur bikes???.......my bike runs hotter when using high octane :'( too..

Not sure about that but on a non modded motor it pretty much just smells cool and cost a whole lot more! ;DTitle: Re: regular 87 octane -vs- 93 high octane gas??.. Post by: klutchbuster400 on December 19, 2012, 10:23:27 PM Considering it's only (as if it were cheap to begin with) an extra couple bucks to fill up a 2 gallon tank, may as well go with 93.

Post by: cr500pro on December 20, 2012, 12:45:03 AM how much is a gallon of 112 octane going for $$?..i had 2 buddys run 112 octane & they wore there motor down quick just trail riding, the piston rings, piston.valves & sleeve didnt last, motor started burning oil.,,they also thought the smell was cool 8)& the extra power as well, till he had to rebuild the whole motor (top n bottom), costing them $$$$$$$$ & down time :'( :(.

My engine was built by RT Racing and has been through hell. Three FT and three TT series and countless trail hours. Not to mention a ton of drag racing. Six years later its still super fast.
