i was thinking,if the state requiered anybody with an atv to pay for a license to drive it & requiered a sticker/permit/license plate 4 atv's 2 ride it (just like w/cars) in public lands,would they really have cops,kicking atv's out of public land?.knowing that the more atv's sold/riding the more $$$ for the state & the more $$$ politicians could steal >:( :'( :(?..like with boats u pay 4ur decal,fishing license,ramp fee's & u navigate all over the bay,thats public waters,ive never heard of 2 boats crashing & then sueing the state/count cuse it happend in public waters...what is ur opinion on this???

They already do this in Fl to a degree.   They require you to title the OHV for it to be legal to ride on public lands which permit OHV use, Croom, Ocala and so on.    In the case of Croom and Tates Hell you have to buy a yearly permit to ride and Ocala also requires a us fee.   They limit where you can ride for many reasons just like boats to a degree.    I do not mind the fee as long as the moneys are used to support the sport and purchase more riding area.    I have seen some improvements to both Croom and Ocala but I know a large amount of the fees go to other goverement projects.

the only thing ive seen the government do thruout the years is restricked every year more,ive been riding in south florida since the mid 70's,i havnt really seen the gov, do any real effort to help/improve/support our sport. i called the FWC main office &  according 2 this high ranking officer,its legal 2 ride ur atv on an unpaved road if its on public land(not private property) & there r no (no trespassing/no enter signs) posted un till sun down & u have to ride 35mph max & be 16yrs or over..he also told me if ur riding in a private property & (get busted) its up 2 the owner of the land 2 press charges if they choose 2,unlike riding in a (restricted) public land, the state will charge/prosicute you.
